Donald Trump, I admit, often makes me shake my head. I am 61, so I still instinctively prefer the Reagan style of respectful optimism and criticizing through gentle humor, even though I fully understand that Reagan led a very different America, and that Trump's hyperaggressiveness is likely better suited to the social media age. It's not a reasoned response; it is a nostalgic impulse. But even I make exceptions for Trump's Don Rickles act in certain cases, such as insulting the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, and * like Adam Schiff. They fully deserve every barb they get, and many, many more.

I voted for it too. The old school GOP has played nice nice uniparty, and gotten this country to the brink of destruction. When your very survival is at stake you don't call in Andy Griffith, you call Reacher....and you have to be ok with cleaning up a bloody mess when it is over.

Smash mouth realpolitik offends you? Poor baby, offended little snowflake... would another Biden-woobie make you feel like everything was going to be OK? TDSers need to grow up, face reality - the world isn't the unicorn pasture folks hoped/thought it would become after the Soviet Union collapsed. Trump is saying and doing what needs to be said and done. Yes it is raw. Yes it comes across to many as being "offensive". But the days when our lives can improve, much less be guarded by the likes of a Kamalalalalala are in the rearview mirror. And puleeeeeze... don't try to tell us that Gavin Newsom is a better idea...

Activists Ramp Up the Chaos in Minneapolis 5 replies

Things have never really settled down in Minneapolis where activists have been following ICE agents for weeks. However, things seemed to be getting a little more chaotic today, leading to several scuffles. It started with confrontations at a Speedway gas station where a group of agents had stopped for some snacks. [Some NSFW language in the clips below.] Activists who had been following them swarmed the gas station: Bovino apparently had to leave the store. Someone who works at the Speedway came out and said the store would not serve ICE agents and told them to leave.

The Trump administration is actively seeking regime change in Cuba and hopes to cut a deal to end communist rule on the island by the end of the year, according to a report. To facilitate the political transition, the Trump administration is searching for Cuban government insiders who could help the US push the existing communist leaders out of power, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. A “concrete plan” for doing away with the communist government that has ruled Cuba for nearly 70 years has not yet been developed, according to the outlet, but the government’s grip on the island has never been more fragile.

U.S. equities leaped after Wednesday after President Donald Trump called off new Europe tariffs, saying a deal framework has been reached over Greenland. Stocks were already rising after the president earlier said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that he would not use force to acquire Greenland. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 588.64 points, or 1.21%, to end at 49,007.23. The S&P 500 gained 1.16% and closed at 6,875.62, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.18% to settle at 23,224.82. Even with the day’s gains, the three leading indexes are still in the red for the week. The Dow is pacing for a 0.6% decline.

President Trump continued to press the case for U.S. control of Greenland during remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, needling the assembled European leaders and boasting that America could take the Danish territory by force if he so chose, before ultimately ruling out that course of action. “We never asked for anything, and we never got anything, we probably won’t get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable. But I won’t do that,” Trump said, referring to America’s outsized historic contribution to NATO and the reluctance of member countries to support the U.S. takeover of Greenland.

Democratic politicians are inviting more federal intervention in Minnesota by excusing the church invasion that violated federal law and citizens’ rights, says lawyer Jonathan Turley. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison “is a curious form of attorney general who opposes the actual enforcement of laws,” Turley wrote on January 20, adding Ellison is refusing to enforce his own laws while suing to bar the federal government from enforcing its own laws. He is akin to a doctor who opposes the actual administration of medicine. In some ways, Ellison has proven the perfect Antifa Attorney General, a law enforcement officer who supports the mob while denouncing the police.

President Donald Trump held a nearly two-hour-long White House press briefing on Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of his second inauguration. Trump started the briefing at 1:48 p.m. Eastern and left the podium at 3:33 p.m. at the culmination of the one hour and forty-five-minute engagement with reporters in a jam-packed James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Near the top of the briefing, Trump touted arrests his administration is making in Minnesota, including “apprehending murderers, drug dealers, and a lot of bad people.” Trump displayed flyers featuring pictures of those who have been taken into custody, along with graphics reading “Minnesota Worst of Worst.”

The three judges hearing the case were: Chief Judge Albert Diaz, Circuit Judges Roger L. Gregory, and G. Steven Agee. The judges weighed Maryland’s private property concealed carry ban via the methodology set forth in Bruen (2022). Then, “Judge Gregory, joined by Chief Judge Diaz, [wrote] for the Court, and Judge Agree joins,” saying, “We hold that Maryland’s prohibition

About 100 employees, mostly senior executives including nearly half of the unit’s operating committee, will relocate to the new office by year-end, Bloomberg reported. With Tuesday marking the one-year anniversary of President Trump's return to the Oval Office, there's been a fair amount of focus on the administration's achievements — and rightly so. President Trump himself joined the day's press briefing and had a little fun with it as he touted the multitude of accomplishments he and his team have secured over the past year. But Trump wasn't alone in touting the administration's successes. As they've done all year, Trump's Cabinet secretaries and key department heads each made a point to highlight their respective agencies'/departments' achievements.

t was crazy that the anti-ICE agitators thought it would be a good idea to storm a church in the middle of its service to push their hateful anti-ICE agenda. They apparently believed that one of the pastors was connected to ICE. But screaming and disrupting people trying to pray is a pretty disgraceful look; it exposed how crazy and extreme they are to people who might not have understood it before. In addition to being wrong about ICE, if you're screaming in a church and frightening children, you are not the good guys in this equation.

Karine Jean-Pierre. Remember her? In 2022, Jean-Pierre made history as the first openly gay black female lesbian of color to serve as White House press secretary. Journalists and other Democrats squealed with joy. In 2025, Jean-Pierre announced she was leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent, primarily as a means of expressing solidarity with Hamas. She wrote a memoir defending Joe Biden's zombie reelection campaign. It was so bad that it forced Democrats to abandon their faith in DEI. They could finally admit that Republicans were right. Former colleagues rushed to denounce Jean-Pierre as "incompetent," "ineffectual," and "unprepared." The Washington Post charitably described her as a "devoted apparatchik" with

Rumors of the closure have circulated for months as sprawling homeless encampments deterred tourists and locals alike. As downtown foot traffic decreased, the mall saw fewer and fewer customers. For background, the case itself centers on a Hawaiian law that does not allow people with public carry licenses to have their handguns on them when they are on private property that is open to the public, unless they have prior permission from the owner.
