What is it about failed governors that convinces Democrats they should lead the nation? Mark Halperin released his January installment of his “8 for ’28” Democratic nomination rankings, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom remains at the top of the list. Remarkably, another failed governor — Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker — made the biggest jump in the rankings and now sits at No. 4. The third member of that trifecta of America’s worst governors, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, almost became vice president, which would have made him a heartbeat away from the presidency. With Newsom still at No. 1 for 2028, it’s instructive to look at what other lists he tops.

This video is disgusting. If Newsom ever gets the nomination to run for president, I hope this video is shown off and on all day every day. If he would let it happen to his state, he will let it happen to all states. He is unqualified to run for any office - PERIOD!

Here in California, billionaires are under attack as the Democrats are pushing a referendum that would levy a 5 percent wealth tax on unrealized gains and other assets of these very rich people in the Golden State. In Washington, DC, Donald Trump is telling big financial corporations that he’s going to limit their credit card interest rates to just 10 percent instead of the 20 percent or 30 percent they’ve been charging their customers. On the one hand, these are terrible economic policies. They are the opposite of classical conservatism. It’s ridiculous to tax unrealized gains

Mayor Zohran Mamdani's controversial pick for tenant advocate, Cea Weaver, once admitted that pushing for rent control was just the "first step" in her plan to destroy the free housing market and move toward "full social housing." Videos of Weaver's past statements have gone viral on social media since Mamdani chose the 37-year-old to lead the city's Office to Protect Tenants. "We decided that fighting for rent control was a strategic and critical first step in the fight for full social housing," she said in a newly surfaced clip. “So, a lot of times people ask, ‘Why are we fighting for rent control when we have NYCHA?

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have been digging themselves a big hole that they may not be able to get out of with their encouragement of anti-ICE action. They now have President Donald Trump talking about the Insurrection Act, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche warning the two of them that he's going to hold them accountable for their actions as the anti-ICE violence in Minnesota gets worse. Frey did tell the rioters on Wednesday night to go home - after they'd already been whipped up. That's a bit like closing the barn after the horse has already bolted. Everything's coming together for mining in Alaska. If you've been reading my work for any length of time, you'll be aware of how much I love Alaska. I am in the habit of describing the Great Land with four words: Vast, clean, wild, and free. But Alaska is also loaded with resources, and what's more, Alaska is big enough that we can have our cake and eat it, too; the amount of land taken up by mining and oil/gas development is tiny set against the vastness of this great state. And now, in part due to the Trump administration's push to open up this treasure chest, mining is poised to make a

As Minneapolis police failed to respond to violent unrest Wednesday night, rioters smashed into ICE vehicles, ripped out weapons lockers, and — according to video posted online — made off with a rifle and ammunition before fleeing the scene. The video shows the tattooed face of a man making off with what appears to be a rifle case removed from the vehicle. Rioters took to the streets with impunity Wednesday night after the second officer-involved shooting in Minneapolis in the past week. A federal law enforcement officer was forced to shoot an illegal alien from Venezuela after he allegedly violently assaulted an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer attempting

This minority is seriously focused on disrupting United States federal agents who are simply doing their job. These evil agents of tyranny are using the principal of which Adams speaks to do harm to the United States of America. Frey called on ICE to “get the f*** out” of Minneapolis in the aftermath of Renee Good’s death, who was shot by an ICE agent after she appeared to accelerate her car toward the officer during an enforcement operation. Jenkins and Frey sparred on “Fox & Friends” while the host noted that ICE operations have ramped up across the U.S. to arrest illegal immigrants who crossed the border during former President Joe Biden’s administration. “Mr. Mayor, you ask ICE to get the

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) I came of age politically just as Ronald Reagan was elected president. That kind of thing can give a young conservative a false sense of optimism about the future. Reagan was so much larger than life that he made the whole Republican Party seem stronger for a while. "Seem" is the operative word there. As I was to be reminded repeatedly after Reagan left office, Republicans in Washington all too often behaved like a gathering of jellyfish. It was almost understandable when the Democrats were in the majority in both the Senate and House. In the ensuing post-Reagan decades, however,

President Donald Trump's push to seize Greenland might be the least popular idea in American political history. Is that hyperbole? If so, that's only because reliable and fast public polling is a relatively recent development within our 250-year experiment in self-governance. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found a staggering 4 percent of Americans favor the idea of seizing Greenland with military force. Among Republicans, the idea is actually twice as popular: 8 percent say taking the island is a "good idea."

Eleven House Democrats jumped party lines to vote with their Republican counterparts in a bid to overturn regulations pushed during former President Joe Biden’s tenure. According to Fox News, the House of Representatives voted 226-197 to overturn Biden-era regulations effectively aimed at restricting how strong shower heads could be. Federal law already caps how much water a shower head is allowed to emit. During the Biden administration, regulators took a broader view of that rule. They concluded that showers equipped with multiple nozzles had to be treated as a single unit, meaning the total water flow across all heads could not exceed the legal maximum.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development likely paid out more than $84 million in ineligible assistance to Minnesota during President Joe Biden’s final year in office — including to more than 500 “deceased tenants,” according to officials and documents reviewed by The Post. HUD has been looking into billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded housing aid doled out by the Biden administration — and its most recent review found $84.6 million in potentially erroneous payments in fiscal year 2024. That included up to $496,000 in improper assistance to 509 dead tenants. Approximately $246,000 more was shelled out to 20 people whose Social Security numbers couldn’t be verified, meaning they were likely non-citizens.

A proposal by Washington state Democrats to ban most law enforcement officers from wearing face-concealing masks during public operations is drawing sharp criticism from federal officials, who warn the measure could endanger officers at a time when violence and threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are rising dramatically nationwide. If enacted, Senate Bill 5855 would prohibit local, state, and federal law enforcement officers, including ICE agents, from wearing masks that obscure their identities during public interactions, with limited exceptions for undercover assignments and certain tactical operations. The bill received its first hearing on Tuesday before the Washington Senate Law & Justice Committee.

His questioning cut right through activist jargon and forced the case onto solid legal ground, revealing just how contorted the arguments become when ideology collides with biological reality. For instance, when transgender activists are asked a simple question — “What is a woman?” — the response is usually a circular word salad claiming that “a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman.” Using a word to define itself explains nothing,
