Virginia Democrat Introduces Bill to Create

Delegate Karen Keys-Gamarra (D) introduced legislation to create a $500 tax on suppressor sales in the state of Virginia. The bill, HB 207, “Imposes a firearm suppressor tax equal to $500 per retail sale of any firearm suppressor by a dealer in firearms.” Keys-Gamarra’s bill directs monies from the tax to “be deposited in the general fund.” A long-standing $200 federal tax on suppressors was wiped out by President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill which took effect January 1, 2026. This means suppressor sales around the nation are now hundred of dollars lower than they were even one month ago. But HB 207 will force Virginians to ante up $500, on top

Waste of court time. Many other artificial restrictions, taxes, fees, etc, have been overturned in several states. And why suppressors anyway? They help prevent and reduce hearing damage. They are a medical device. They don't make guns magically quiet like in Hollywood movies but I wouldn't expect this creature to know that.

Oh yeah. Real popular in the hood. NOT. The gangbangers, murderers, armed robbers and assorted criminals have no use for suppressors. They don't care. As other posters said, their only real use is mostly for hearing protection and Hollywood movies. Political posturing instead of concentrating on the ones who are pulling triggers.

My gun habit is too expensive now. Don't need to add more toys to it. Besides, the boom is half the fun. The entire jungle trembles when the mighty Ruger roars. So, if anyone wants a suppressor, fine. Buy one. Use it, enjoy it. Avoid taxes on it. But I'll pass.

Ridiculous. Anybody with a small workshop and a couple of tools can easily make a suppressor if he has a need to keep his gunshots a little quieter. That's what ear protection is for.

Yup - welcome to Virginia - four years of this garbage all because not enough registered Republicans could bother to vote for Sears. Reid and Miyares. Four years of Spunkberger and Co. wasting tax dollars and time fighting Trump.

The Democratic Socialists of America — for whom New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is a vocal supporter — and a Chinese Communist Party-linked activist network are leading a two-front resistance effort against President Donald Trump, with street protests seeking to blend efforts opposing ICE with the arrest of Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro. The coordinated organizational effort by the DSA and affiliated protest groups is fueled in large part by funding from CCP-linked wealthy Marxist businessman Neville Singham. That network produced a new slogan over the past few days — “No Wars. No Kings. No ICE.” — which sought to unite far-left protesters in their anti-Trump outrage and to encourage

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — More than one thousand people crammed into a Minnesota church Saturday for “training” in how to deal with ICE in the wake of Renee Nicole Good’s fatal shooting — during which the radical leftist organizer urged participants to annoy the agents like “mosquitoes.” Program sponsor Monarca trains so-called “upstander legal observers” to follow, track, report, and record Department of Homeland Security officers while they are in the midst of operations, and urged the mostly white, middle-aged and elderly attendees to attend protests with gas masks, sunglasses and phone chargers. “And a pencil,” they said. “In Minnesota, bring a pencil; a pen will freeze.”
