Why “No mas dolares” going south?

Original Article

I just spoke with my friend Allan Wall, a Mexico analyst, and we discussed the fact that dollars are not going south, i.e., remittances or “remesas” in Spanish. This is the report: According to the Banco de México , “In July of 2025, remittance income from the exterior [mostly the U.S.] totalled 5.33 billion dollars, a decrease of 4.7%.” That’s 4.7% less than July of 2024. (snip) it’s embarrassing that Mexico, a country rich in resources, must depend on someone sending a monthly transfer to his mom. They unleash criticism of a government that won’t develop its own resources, such as oil, but would rather depend on foreign welfare.

Judging by the welcoming attitude of our prior administration, there may have been a considerable sum going to the 'Big Guy'. I'd like an examination of that.

I agree fully with #1. Tax it, heavily. And a loss of 4.7% is nothing remotely like "no mas", but we should set that as the goal.

A reduction of 240 million. No improvement until it hits 4.5 billion. This is why Mexico doesn't want to help. Remember this is only one month.

Remittances to Mexico should be taxed 75% or more. That money is stolen from US taxpayers.

PDJT has put forth the proposition of annexing Canada already. Nothing new there. I have another proposition: Annex Mexico. I know lots of people can come up with lots of reasons not to do this, but the malign influence of the drug cartels will not be brought to heel by "elected" governments that are compromised before even taking power. I see this as inevitable, and something that will happen in this century, as it will be the only way the drug cartels can be smashed. Note that annexing Mexico doesn't mean that its territory gets instant statehood. Far from it -- it will be *decades* before Mexico's territories are ready for statehood.

A history of violence 8 replies

The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a horrific reminder that the left is based on nothing other than terror, violence, and aggression. This has been true since Karl howled to Friedrich that the bourgeois would someday pay for his plague of skin boils. The history of the Left is a history of violence. Scarcely a single leftist government has gained power without violence or the threat of violence. No leftist government has ever remained in power without violence. Violence is built into the very foundations of leftist ideology. Marx himself fantasized in print over the apocalyptic events that would accompany the revolution of the proletariat

Here's the current breakdown if a British election were held today: Reform:30% Labor: 21% Conservative: 17% Liberal Democrats: 13% Greens: 9% In other words the parties that have brought Britain to the brink of civil war by supporting mass immigration still command 60% of the vote. Not a picture that suggests massive support for dramatic change. I know, the "first past the post" system would give Reform, at 30%, a large Parliamentary majority, but that doesn't mean the country would be remotely close to unified behind a Reform government.

I confess to a tiny drop of pity for Trump-haters within the tidal wave of amusement I experience watching them deal with the successes President Trump already has experienced. I almost cheered out loud when I read that the Trump administration has cancelled $400 million in funding for Columbia University, despite the fact that when I taught there about three-and-a half-decades ago, I no doubt directly benefitted from federal money flowing in, enjoyed my colleagues, and was treated very well. I doubt that anyone forgets the moment when a doctor tells them that they are never going to recover from the illness that brought them in and led to all those diagnostic tests. It’s terminal and it’s only a matter of time before you die. Add in the words “There’s no known cure, and we don’t even know what causes it” and the verdict seems absolute: you’re without hope. What’s emerging looks far more deliberate, disturbingly organized, and rooted in the leftist networks that have turned political violence into a feature of modern activism.

New York and New Jersey did not issue orders to lower flags for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, leaving Bergen County under fire for following state protocol instead of President Trump’s proclamation. Trump signed a directive Wednesday ordering U.S. flags nationwide lowered through Sunday at 6 p.m., calling Kirk “a truly Great American Patriot.” Flags at the White House came down that afternoon. But in New Jersey, the official state flag status listed “full staff,” and Bergen County followed suit.
