Trump administration moves to repeal climate
‘holy grail’

The Trump administration on Tuesday proposed repealing the federal government’s bedrock scientific declaration on the dangers of greenhouse gases — a move that would run afoul of decades of research and topple most of the Environmental Protection Agency’s climate regulations. The rollback is the most audacious attempt yet by President Donald Trump to undo federal restrictions on fossil fuels. The so-called endangerment finding, which the Obama administration issued in 2009

Oops! Didn't notice this was a Politico article until I started reading it, which I stopped doing after the first sentence or two. I have a few choice words for Politico and their ilk, but decorum on this site prevents me from uttering them here. Suffice it to say. . .no thanks to anything they have to say on this subject. Btw, Go Trump go!

All life on earth is carbon base, the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the supreme ingredient that allows life. Only idiots think it is a climate driver. Water vapor is the number one greenhouse, weathermen preach it all summer long. FILLS LIKE TEMPATURE is based on humidity, CO2 doesn't have a chance. And don't forget that an underwater volcano 3 years ago blasted an unprecedented amount of water vapor into the Katy Perry levels of the atmosphere.

"it would require assembling evidence to the contrary, a difficult task given the overwhelming literature on the topic" A lie repeated 1000 times does not make it a truth. The echo chamber between Leftist researchers, politicians, and media asserts things and then claims them as truth, ignoring all evidence to the contrary. It should be clear by now that 40 years of climate doomsday predictions have NOT come true. The "science" is deeply flawed. So WHY should we pay attention to any warnings coming from the same failed sources? Further, it seems insane to me to allow a agency to make such enormous changes to the policies concerning climate. It's obvious that the EPA can require a clearly polluted site to be cleaned up or that air pollution that travels far from its source can impact others and can be regulated to limit its impact. It is far less clear that an agency can make decisions that can have trillion dollar impacts and radically change American lifestyles based on nebulous "science" that labels a necessary component of the atmosphere a "pollutant" to allow it to be subject to environmental laws. THAT should require additional laws be passed, something that the Left cannot get done because the whole concept is flakey. THAT is why they did an end run and horribly distorted existing law.

good because Co2 is a fertilizer not a threat and the evidence that hte climate is warming is not clear at all, let alone that the trend if any is driven by people. It was baloney. Books will be written about it, if civilization lasts that long, how people could be that dumb.

Thanks to common sense from the USA the CO2 is a pollutant lie will be defeated for the entire world. We have 8 billion humans now but after 2050 world population will inexorably decline due to fewer babies. We need electricity now for all people. Fossil fuels are where the world air CO2 was stored through plant life. It is now a small fraction of a percent point of the atmosphere, much less than it was in the past, and its recent increase is already greening the Earth. Thank you EPA for ending this charade. The Europeans will be very sad to have ruined their economies for absolutely nothing.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday that modified “reciprocal” tariffs on dozens of countries, with updated duties ranging from 10% to 41%. All goods that are considered to have been transshipped to avoid applicable duties will be subject to an additional 40% tariff, according to the White House. Countries that are not listed in the latest order will face an additional duty of 10%, the order said. The updated directive modifies tariffs imposed under the earlier executive order issued in April. The modified rates will be effective with respect to goods “entered for consumption on or after 12:01 a.m.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Thursday that there would be a 90-day negotiating period with Mexico after a call with that country’s leader, Claudia Sheinbaum, as the 25% tariff rates stay in place. Trump, posting on Truth Social, said his phone conversation with Sheinbaum was “very successful in that, more and more, we are getting to know and understand each other.” Trump said that goods from Mexico imported into the U.S. would continue to face a 25% tariff that the U.S. president has ostensibly linked to fentanyl trafficking. The Republican said that autos would face a 25% tariffs, while copper, aluminum and steel would be taxed at 50%.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that Canada’s decision to recognize Palestinian statehood could jeopardize a future trade deal between the U.S. and its northern neighbor. “Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social. Trump’s tariff deadline is August 1 and the U.S. has yet to reach a trade deal with Canada. Earlier this month, Trump threatened a 35 percent tariff on Canada, without going into specifics. The U.S. could increase tariffs on Canadian imports from 25 percent to 35 percent with exemptions

Republicans may have finally learned how to fight fire with fire. In an unexpected move, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) called a special session in mid-July to redraw his state's congressional map. The plan? To nuke the Democrats' dominance in several key areas, garnering five new seats. That would provide the GOP with a significant boost going into the 2026 midterms. With that said, the new map has now been released, and it's a bloodbath for Democrats. Texas Republicans unveiled a new congressional map on Wednesday that would provide their party with five new red-leaning districts, a plan that — if enacted

She’s been very vocal about U.S. policy toward Mexico. For example, she said she would offer legal counsel to her citizens that were here illegally that were picked up, she thought, unfairly or too violently by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She also said that the United States had no business taxing remittances—that is money that Mexican nationals here, for the most part illegally, send back to Mexico. She said, “Do not come into Mexican national ground if you’re going after the cartels.”

International law — particularly Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention — defines the criteria for statehood: a permanent population, a defined territory, an effective government, and the capacity to engage in relations with other states. Yet neither of the two Palestinian political entities meets these criteria. By choosing to recognize a "Palestinian state" that clearly fails to meet these established criteria, France departs from any international law. Macron's declaration is not a matter of legal recognition, but a political gesture — ideological and electoral — masquerading as diplomacy.

Real-world entities would address this problem with a combination of (1) increasing their revenues and (2) decreasing their expenses. But Denver is not a real-world entity. It’s a government entity. It plans to do what governments do in government-world: It plans to borrow money. A lot of it. They’re putting on the ballot a bond proposal amounting to almost a billion dollars. By the time the bonds are paid off with interest years down the road, it would amount to nearly two billion.
