‘Duck Dynasty’ star and Robertson family patriarch Phil Robertson died Sunday at the age of 79, his son Jase announced via Twitter. “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!” his son, Jase, announced Sunday evening. God grant unto him the Eternal Rest, and may the Perpetual Light shine upon him. Amen. Sad news for me. I was a big "Duck Dynasty" fan. I even won an autographed hat by all on the show in a silent auction. The pity is they used a silver gel pen and all the signatures have faded away. May their love of God, family and country continue to be the legacy of Phil Robertson.

I always liked him on the show, but watching the movie about their family, "The Blind", was a new insight into the man. Not many people are willing to show their seedy past. But he did it for the purpose of spreading the impact that salvation made on his life and on his family. Truly a sincere conversion with a big impact! (I got a new appreciation for Uncle Si from that movie too)

I enjoyed "Duck Dynasty" and got many laughs out of their antics. I don't doubt their sincere faith, loyalty and love of each other. Phil was a joy to watch, wandering through the episodes with his devastating observations, like telling his grandsons they needed to "go to Walmart and buy [themselves] a personality." RIP to Phil and condolences to his family.

The world was moved yesterday by a soprano’s spectacular ode to Notre Dame, which has reopened its doors after a fire devastated the cathedral in April 2019. Following a frenzied five-year renovation project, the Parisian monument is now fitted with a new roof and spire, and it hosted a magnificent concert on Saturday (7 December) to mark its reopening. Pretty Yende, a South African operatic soprano who also performed at the coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey, sang a note-perfect rendition of much-loved spiritual ‘Amazing Grace’.

A FedEx contract driver in Texas was arrested Friday and accused of kidnapping and murder in the death of a 7-year-old girl who went missing two days earlier, officials said. The disappearance of Athena Strand, who vanished Wednesday from her home in Paradise in Wise County, prompted a large search with around 200 volunteers from the community. On Friday, authorities found her body southeast of the city of Boyd, a city around 11 miles away, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin told reporters. “We do have a confession,” Akin said at a news conference Friday night.

And that number is expected to grow.

McHENRY, N.D. — According to court papers, it was not an accident but apparently a politically motivated attack. The fatal vehicle-pedestrian incident happened early Sunday morning, Sept. 18, in McHenry, North Dakota, about 120 miles northwest of Fargo and 54 miles north of Jamestown. Prosecutors allege moments before he was killed, 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson called his mom to come rescue him because 41-year-old Shannon Brandt was chasing him in the city of McHenry, where the street dance had just wrapped up. By the time she could get there, her son was dead.

The first pictures have emerged of a North Korean warship seemingly covered in tarpaulin after it capsized and sank in front of dictator Kim Jong Un. Satellite images appear to show the naval destroyer languishing on its side alongside the dock where a launch ceremony had been held. But the launch failed, and analysis of pictures taken on Thursday suggest the ship is now partially submerged and covered with bright blue tarpaulins in an apparent attempt to conceal the wreckage. State media said the the 5,000-ton ship, which had been due to enter service next year, is designed to carry weapons systems including nuclear-capable ballistic and cruise missiles.

Republicans and Democrats don’t use PR the same way. If you’re a Republican, your relationship with the mainstream media is almost always adversarial. They’re an obstacle that must be carefully circumvented — or directly bulldozed — but no conservative since John McCain views ‘em as an ally. At best, they’re a useful foil. At worst? They’re your biggest frickin’ headache. Republicans had to literally build a completely separate ecosystem — Fox News, alternative media (like this site), X.com, and podcasts — just to have a fighting chance. Not so with Democrats. If you’re a tofu-munching liberal, the mainstream media is your ally, best friend, and collaborative partner. You vote the same way;

A video surfaced on X over the weekend of the "60 Minutes" anchor's May 19 speech to the graduating class of 2025 at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, in which he makes a series of insane claims about the state of America now under Trump. During Pelley's entire rant, he avoids actually naming the president. "But in this moment, this morning, our sacred rule of law is under attack," Pelley said with no example as to what he was talking about.
