Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital Partners has reached an agreement to buy the UK’s Telegraph Media Group. The in-principle agreement values the publisher of The Telegraph at £500M ($675M) and will see the U.S.-based RedBird becoming the sole owner of the paper and its associated businesses. The Abu Dhabi-funded RedBird IMI will take a minority stake providing new legislation around foreign ownership thresholds passes into law. RedBird IMI previously had a deal in place to acquire the Telegraph and The Spectator but was stopped when the British government changed the law to block foreign ownership.

Democrats continue to implode, and now there's one Democrat who is calling them out.
On Sunday, on CNN's "State of the Union," Jake Tapper spoke with Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Co), who is retiring to run for governor. Tapper said that given Bennet was doing it in part because of his frustration with Congress and "frankly, with Democratic leadership," and "given the Democratic Party's record low popularity now," does the Democratic brand help him or hurt him?
Wow, Tapper went there.
Bennet's response was not good for the Democrats. “I don’t think nationally the Democratic brand helps very much anyway...anywhere,” Bennet replied. Oof, so true.
A 53-year-old man was detained Monday after he allegedly drove a vehicle into a crowd at the Liverpool Football Club trophy parade in Liverpool, England, injuring over two dozen people.
Police were called to the scene in the city center, more than 200 miles northwest of London, at about 1 p.m. ET (6 p.m. local time) following reports of a car colliding with "a number of pedestrians," the Merseyside Police initially said on social media. A 53-year-old White British man from the Liverpool area was arrested shortly after the incident, according to Assistant Chief Constable Jennifer Sims.

President Eisenhower reportedly once said, "Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you’re a thousand miles from the cornfield." My Dad, who farmed much of his life, would have agreed with that. A lot of things look easier from a distance. Democrats, today, seem to be maintaining a great distance between their party platform and, well, reality. Recent polling shows that the Democratic Party has the same approval ratings as head lice. Former New York Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel has passed away.
He was 94.
Rangel served 23 terms in Congress. He was elected to Congress in 1970 and retired in 2017.
“A towering figure in American politics and a champion for justice, equity, and opportunity, Congressman Rangel dedicated over four decades of his life to public service,” the Rangel family said in a statement.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams released a statement on Rangel’s death.
“I am so sad to lose a dear friend and exemplary model of devotion and courage. My prayers are with his family, Harlem, and all who knew him,” Adams said.

The first pictures have emerged of a North Korean warship seemingly covered in tarpaulin after it capsized and sank in front of dictator Kim Jong Un.
Satellite images appear to show the naval destroyer languishing on its side alongside the dock where a launch ceremony had been held.
But the launch failed, and analysis of pictures taken on Thursday suggest the ship is now partially submerged and covered with bright blue tarpaulins in an apparent attempt to conceal the wreckage.

Hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett has once again repeated the debunked claim that he was randomly jumped during one snowy night in Chicago six years ago.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Smollett accused the city of Chicago working as part of a conspiracy to discredit his claim of being a victim of a hate crime.

But for some reason, she spoke at a real estate conference in Australia over the weekend. Frankly, I don't know why anyone interested in real estate would want to hear from her. However, she was interviewed for an hour by real estate industry veteran John McGrath.
Now you know how tipped the scales were in such an interview when he referred to her as “one of the most successful women in history” with “her best work ahead of her,” according to The Guardian. Can I laugh now? Don't you mean the most unsuccessful woman in history?
