Democratic political strategist James Carville expressed frustration with the state of his party on his podcast Thursday, arguing that Republicans are able to get away with lying while Democrats are held to a higher standard of credibility.
Talking to guest Ryan Lizza, a journalist, he said, "People say to me all the time, ‘James, why don’t we just do like the Republicans do? Just stand up and lie?’ Because our f*****g people wouldn’t stand for it!" Carville said. "If I stood up and lied, you would be the first person to say, ‘James Carville lost all credibility last night when he said X, Y and Z.’"

If you had told me just a few years ago that Michelle Obama would be a presidential candidate, I'd have said she was the most formidable opponent the Democratic Party could put up. Yet, as I sit here in May of 2025, I'm not even sure she'd survive a primary, much less be competitive in a general election.
Things have changed dramatically, and the spiral is continuing for Barack Obama's wife. Her new podcast has not only bombed in the ratings, but she's been using the platform to dish on her husband and call America racist while showing an astonishing amount of entitlement and lack

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) said President Donald Trump’s tariffs caused the world to see the United States as an “unreliable partner.”
Host George Stephanopoulos said, “I think you identified the tariffs as the number one issue. Liberation Day is probably the most consequential day of the first 100 days. Is there an exit strategy for Donald Trump on this?
He asked, “Can he make this sort of series of deals that limit the damage?”
Christie said, “Well, it depends on what those deals look like, George. I will tell you, if you look at the reaction of the rest of the world,

Biological male swimmer Ana Caldas absolutely dominated in the women’s races at the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship in Texas.
The races, which took place last weekend, saw 47-year-old Ana Caldas wipe the floor in the 45-49 category of five races, including the 100-yard individual medley, the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke, and the freestyle.
This quickly sparked outrage on social media, where Libs of TikTok and others remarked on the “insanity” of the situation.

Actor Sean Penn is the latest Hollywood celebrity to melt down over Donald Trump.
In a podcast appearance with former CNN host Jim Acosta and California Rep. Eric Swalwell, Penn suggested that Trump may “destroy the world” before his presidency is finished.
Here is a transcript of the exchange:
ACOSTA: Bukele needs to be told, like, there are going to be other administrations that are going to come in here that are not going to look too kindly on this. What you’re doing down there.
SWALWELL: Jim, Bukele should be told that, the law firms that are caving should be told that, the colleges that are cave in should be told that.

Actress and former The View co-host, Rosie O’Donnell, who moved to Ireland after the election, claimed President Donald Trump has suffered a serious “cognitive decline” in a rant she posted to TikTok.
In her post to fans, the comedienne who is now resident of Ireland claimed that video of Trump’s recent speeches show he is no longer in command of his mental faculties.
“When are people going to start to realize how much he is in a cognitive decline,” O’Donnell rambled, “how he can’t form coherent thoughts or sentences?”
“He had a speech the other day and he couldn’t say the word ‘anonymous.’

Like most of us, I suppose, the shock to our system and way of life during the government’s response to COVID-19 cannot easily be forgotten. It was our taste of ill-considered government tyranny, a public-health disaster. As more information about its origins and how the disease was handled is revealed, it always gets my attention. In sum, banking on helping defeat Trump, the public-health establishment and media suppressed more credible options for dealing with a disease which was not life-threatening to most in order to promote a vaccine then in the works. The vaccine when it was developed and administered was not terribly effective and has itself caused substantial injury.

Donald Trump took to Truth Social Sunday to announce he is “authorizing” the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to impose a 100% tariff on “any and all” movies produced in “foreign lands.”
In a move that sent shockwaves through Hollywood, Trump deemed foreign productions a “national security threat” to the American movie industry, adding that they not only draw filmmakers out to other markets but also bring “messaging and propaganda” into the United States. “The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death,” Trump wrote. “Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States.

Starting Monday, student loan borrowers who find themselves in default will face government-backed involuntary collections, signaling a brand new landscape after years of pauses, delays and Biden-era relief efforts.
Garnished tax returns, Social Security payments and even wages will all be fair game on May 5 after a five-year pause on severe financial consequences that began during the economic upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Trump administration has made clear no additional debt forgiveness will be offered to borrowers as congressional Republicans look to revamp the student loan repayment system.

Let’s just get this out of the way: $2.00 gas isn’t a fantasy. It’s not a fairytale. It’s not even a MAGA fever dream. It’s a freight train with Trump at the throttle and a full tank of American energy roaring down the tracks.
Naturally, this week the usual suspects freaked out. President Trump had the audacity to suggest—on social media, no less—that we’re on the verge of $2 gas. Cue the blue-check meltdown: “Disinformation!” “It’s impossible!” “He’s lying!” But here’s the problem with that narrative: he’s not wrong.
Let’s check the scoreboard, shall we?
On May 3, 2025, the national average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.17.

Mexico has declined President Donald Trump’s offer to deploy U.S. troops in Mexico to help combat drug cartels, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on May 3.
The Wall Street Journal first reported on May 2, based on anonymous sources, that Trump had offered to send U.S. troops to take a leading role in efforts within Mexico to counter the cartels. Sheinbaum was asked to comment on The Wall Street Journal’s reporting on Saturday, as she attended an event near Mexico’s capital.
“You know what I told him? ‘No, President Trump, the territory is inviolable. Sovereignty is inviolable,’” Sheinbaum told the audience.

Sometimes, Trump is just playin' around.
And when he does, the left has a cow -- and then he kicks back and enjoys it.
You'd think they'd know enough not to take the bait by now ... but they don't.
So now we have this: ... which is pretty funny.
It was obviously keying off pope portraits from centuries past, such as Diego Velazquez's Pope Innocent X, circa 1650: Or Jacques-Louis David's Pope Pius VII, from 1805: It also reminds me of what his ally, President Nayyib Bukele once did, posting a pic of himself dressed in some grand and heroic costume around the time when he was trolling as
