France Demands America: ‘Give Us Back

Sacré bleu! Talk about a Napoleon complex. Some stories don’t require a lengthy set-up. They speak for themselves (and today, they’re parlez-vous-ing exclusively in French): France should take back the Statue of Liberty because the US no longer represents the values that led France to offer the statue, a French Euro-deputy said Sunday. "Give us back the Statue of Liberty", centre-left politician Raphael Glucksmann said at a convention of his Place Publique centre-left movement. "We're going to say to the Americans who have chosen to side with the tyrants, to the Americans who fired researchers for demanding scientific freedom: 'Give us back the Statue of Liberty,'" he told cheering supporters.

Keep the statue... rip that stupid plaque off of it that was added in 1903. No nation can take on the world's poor and huddled masses without succumbing to the very things that made those masses exist in the first place. The plaque is an ode to enabling on a planetary scale.

Monsieur Glucksmann would do well to recall a bit of histoire concerning Charles De Gaulle: In 1966, De Gaulle pulled France *out* of NATO -- which was based in Paris at the time -- thus causing its move to Brussels. In a press conference that occurred after France became an "independent" player on the world stage, De Gaulle said that France's land-based nuclear arsenal, called the Force de Frappe, could be just as easily pointed to the west, if necessary, as it was pointed to the east. American veterans who helped liberate France were outraged. De Gaulle didn't care. Guess how much Americans today care what France thinks, Monsieur Glucksmann?

Eau Contraire! It's the French and other Europeans who no longer represent the values for which the statue was presented. Their problem is that after 4 years of oppressive socialist government domination, the US is moving back toward individual liberty, and our "betters" on The Continent can't have that.

One more swipe at Monsieur Glucksmann: The only Americans I recall who were fired for demanding scientific freedom were physicians and others who demanded the freedom to decline being administered mRNA shots after FJB signed an EO *mandating* it. Anybody know who the hell this jerk is referring to? Credit where it's due: A *French* medical doctor -- Dr. Raoult -- was among the first to discover and publish peer-reviewed articles (in early 2020) showing that hyroxychloriquine was effective against Covid. His reward for such ground-breaking scientific work benefitting humanity was to be muzzled by the French government after it made a deal with big pharma to mandate the mRNA shots in France. So much for scientific integrity on the part of French politicians!
