Goodbye catch-and-release, hello catch-and-deport.
Migrants who are caught illegally crossing the US border will no longer be set free in the US while they await their immigration hearings. Instead, they’ll be taken into custody until they can be deported, Homeland Security sources told The Post. Border Patrol agents were given the edict by the Trump administration on President Trump’s first full day in office Tuesday. It represents a seismic shift from the “catch-and-release” open border days of the Biden administration, during which around 8 million illegal immigrants flooded into the country.

Donald Trump quickly made good on his pledge to sever diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government as he is set to fire all DEI hires by tomorrow.
The new Trump administration sent a letter to all heads and acting heads of government agencies on Tuesday, informing them all federal employees in DEI roles must be placed on paid leave by 5pm Wednesday.
All DEI offices in federal agencies are also being shuttered in the move, which comes after Trump signed an anti-DEI executive order in front of a cheering crowd at his inauguration on Monday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Joe Biden's shocking response to his demands that the White House do something about the migrant crisis was to 'be a good Democrat, Eric.'
The embattled mayor claimed Biden's reaction to the crisis wreaking havoc on his city was just one of many reasons the Democrat Party 'left me and it left working class people' in an interview with Tucker Carlson.
[SNIP] 'We have Venezuelan gang leaders that were coming to the city creating crimes,' Adams said, which led to his asking Biden for help the condescending answer he received.

Former President Joe Biden, just hours before he left office, issued a flurry of preemptive pardons for his political allies — including retired Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of the J6 Committee — but skipped one for Ukraine impeachment hoaxer Alexander Vindman.
Vindman’s wife, Rachel Vindman, took to Bluesky to whine about being left off the pardon list.
“Whatever happens to my family, know this: No pardons were offered or discussed. I cannot begin to describe the level of betrayal and hurt I feel,” she posted.

Nearly 1,660 Afghans cleared by the U.S. government to resettle in the U.S., including family members of active-duty U.S. military personnel, are having their flights canceled under President Donald Trump's order suspending U.S. refugee programs, a U.S. official and a leading refugee resettlement advocate said on Monday. [SNIP] Nearly 200,000 Afghans have been brought to the U.S. by former President Joe Biden's administration since the chaotic U.S. troop withdrawal from Kabul.

Donald Trump issued two executive orders launching investigations into Joe Biden's White House over institutional censorship and weaponization of law enforcement.
The president signed at least 78 bills on Monday overturning various declarations and orders given out by his predecessor.
Trump ordered that no federal officer, employee or agent may unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen, an early step toward his campaign promise to dismantle what he called government 'censorship' of U.S. citizens.
The president´s executive order, issued just hours after he was sworn in to a second term.

I’ve spent a lot of time speaking with President Donald Trump over the past few months and my expectations for his first 100 days in power are very high.
Americans are about to witness a period of rapid change that will revolutionize their lives.
For one, Trump knows that he must move fast.
He has two years of nearly unfettered control of Washington DC, before mid-term elections threaten to undermine the Republican party’s slim majorities in the House and Senate.
Secondly, Trump knows he has pulled off the greatest political comeback in American history – and he’s not about to squander his second chance.

Liberal protesters gathered around Washington, D.C., to express their disapproval of President Donald Trump's inauguration Monday.
Trump succeeded former President Joe Biden after winning the election two months ago, which included the popular vote. Still, Trump has some outspoken adversaries. Among them were some who erected a makeshift guillotine in Malcolm X Park, also known as Meridian Hill Park. The phrase "come get sum" was painted on the crafted 20-foot-tall structure. Meanwhile, other protesters flanked it, one dressed as an executioner with their face covered, another holding a rainbow flag, and another with a sign that read, "The revolution is now."

One week before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, in his final press briefing, outgoing National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made a cryptic comment.
“I hope this is my last time at this podium, at least for a while,” Sullivan said. “The only thing that would bring me back is an unexpected event in the next few days, which, as you all know, is totally possible, given everything you’ve seen over the past years.”
Did Sullivan speak generally or did he have specific situations in mind?

Presidential teams have all sorts of players on them. And much as some might have hoped that after the first term, the Trump team would be ‘clean’, that’s proving not to be the case.
The adoption of Biden’s disastrous surrendering to terrorist deal by Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East envoy, appears to have saved Hamas.
And we’re getting all sorts of leaks to the media by people supposedly on the Trump team blasting Israel and propping up Islamic terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon.
The latest one is an NBC News story touting Witkoff and a larger ‘nation-building’ agenda for Gaza.

Since Gov. Greg Abbott launched his border security mission, Operation Lone Star, in 2021, OLS officers have apprehended more than 530,600 illegal border crossers. They’ve also made more than 50,000 criminal arrests, with more than 43,000 felony charges reported. They’ve also seized more than 622 million lethal doses of fentanyl – enough to kill everyone in the U.S., Mexico and Canada combined.
They’re also continuing to arrest “Special Interest Aliens,” those flagged for potential terrorist ties.
In Hidalgo County, an OLS Texas Department of Public Safety brush team apprehended four SIAs who illegally entered the U.S. from Turkey.

At no point in recent Catholic Church history has a pope and a U.S. president seemed to be in such perfect harmony as soon-to-be ex-President Biden and Pope Francis – whose reign seems to be stretching into infinity. [SNIP] As a friend of mine said who lived in Buenos Aires when Francis was cardinal-archbishop there, “He’s always hated the Latin Mass; he’s always been a pseudo-socialist; he’s always hated the English language and he has little to zero love for the United States.”
How’s that for a Holy Father?
