What Jack Smith Left Out

One week before the presidential inauguration, Jack Smith issued a “Final Report” concerning the January 6th prosecution of Donald Trump and his co-defendants. Presumably, the report is supposed to convince the public that Trump is guilty as charged. Instead, it provides evidence of Smith’s incompetence and bias. Trump’s attorneys, John Lauro and Todd Blanche, issued a strong rebuttal (Addendum to Final Report) that excoriates this “out-of-control private citizen” for spending more than $20 million to violate “fundamental norms regarding the presumption of innocence

The whole J6 process was a gross perversion of our legal system. Milley and Miller violated orders from the President to keep the protest "safe". They said it was because they had concerns about the orders or didn't take Trump seriously. However, I don't think it's too far a stretch to suspect that someone had a conversation with them and told them not to take any action. That freed up the planted FBI agents and probably the Capitol Police to essentially rabble rouse and then escort the protesters inside the Capitol. Now, you can argue that the protesters should have known better, but if the door is held open for you by the police, why shouldn't you go in. Sounds like entrapment. Further, the nature of the actions taken by MOST off the protesters was pretty mild. A civil fine was due, perhaps. But they had to make it big enough to scare the public into thinking Trump really stepped out of line. The article gives Smith's history. He obviously cares nothing for the law. He is a persecutor, not a fair prosecutor. THAT is why Garland ILLEGALLY hired him. Garland knew there was no real evidence of an "insurrection". But Garland didn't care. Thank God he didn't get on the SCOTUS. Smith was willing to go after Trump for waking up in the morning. But like so many other attempts, once you actually get into court, or and impeachment trial, you need a legal case. There never was one. Yet Garland and Smith kept pushing, safe because the senile Biden was ALSO willing to "Get Trump" for walking down the street. So they kept pushing, trying to undermine Trump's viability as a candidate. The case started falling apart and then when Trump won, it collapsed because there was no evidence and because after the election, these was no real purpose to keep going. Garland and Smith had failed. Smith's report was spitting in Trump's face, he thought, but like Biden's actions since the election, they only served to diminish Smith. I hope there is some way to throw all this out and go after these 2 clowns for what they have done. They deserve some retribution for their corruption of the legal system. Someone thinking about doing like this again needs to know the wrath of God will fall on their head.

#3, I believe that is exactly what happened. A full investigation is in order. All coup plotters must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Starting with the person who came up with the idea. NP. Committing treason is a bad idea that should have bad consequences for those who commit it.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) faced a monumental political chore: telling Joe Biden, the leader of his party, he needed to step down. It’s no small feat, and it’s not like the Democrats had much time. The June debate on CNN, where Biden got rolled by Donald Trump, has set off alarm bells. The cover-up of the president’s mental health got exposed—there was no pivoting away. Then, he caught COVID a few weeks later during a Nevada campaign stop. It reinforced the narrative that was now firmly entrenched in the minds of voters

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reportedly "broke down in tears" during a private meeting discussing President-elect Donald Trump, a moment that many will see as a sign of the deep emotional and political grip Trump continues to have on Washington bureaucrats. His liberal meltdown shows Trump still has a hold over Democrats who feel threatened by him. While some may view Schumer’s emotional reaction as a sign of vulnerability, others may see it as a reflection of the left's fear about Trump's return to power

Pam Bondi’s first confirmation hearing will likely ensure her confirmation by the U.S. Senate, but one exchange on Wednesday created or added to a controversy among MAGA-supporters and especially the community of January 6 defendants along with their families, friends, and supporters on principle. The former attorney general of Florida is well qualified to be attorney general in the Trump administration. But Bondi’s confirmation hearing testimony let slip the mood from within the Trump transition team. The controversy of the hour is whether Trump should pardon some January 6 defendants but not all. Bondi strongly endorsed the idea that anyone “accused”

Padilla employed the same line of questioning as many of his colleagues who sought to relitigate the fallout of the 2020 presidential election and President-elect Donald Trump’s claims that it was stolen via voter fraud. He asked whether Bondi would retract her claim that Trump won in Pennsylvania. The nominee began her answer by saying she “traveled to Pennsylvania, and let me tell you what I saw firsthand.” Padilla did not bother to let her finish, pushing her to simply answer “yes” or “no.”

On Joe Biden’s first day in office in January 2021, he signed seventeen executive orders. These orders are notorious and remained controversial throughout his term in office. They included such measures as stopping the Keystone Pipeline — an order that was blamed for rising gasoline prices throughout Biden’s term (the real cause of such price increases was the Biden administration’s massive spending sprees, but the pipeline shutdown made the situation worse). Other Biden orders on that first day included renewed environmentalist-extremist measures such as rejoining the “Paris Accords” (wildfires continue unabated despite this order).

Peter Hamby of Puck News, a Los Angeles resident, penned a damning story that took shots at everyone, from the social media folks who he claims are spreading misinformation to Elon Musk for trying to bait firefighters into saying there was no water available. Hamby contends there was enough water, though the blaze's size made combating it ineffective. We’ll leave you to debate that in the comments section below.

In January 2025, wildfires devastated Los Angeles County. While not every detail is yet known – and some details will likely never be known – these fires have destroyed entire communities, burned thousands of houses, schools, churches and businesses, killed and injured people and pets. The losses in physical structure can be counted; the losses in dollar value can only be guessed at. Property insurance figures estimate the value of a building, but the residents can never accurately estimate – and insure for – all the contents within.

With the government reaching its borrowing limit, the department would start making the moves on Tuesday, the day after the inauguration, Yellen said in a letter to congressional leaders. That will mean Trump's administration has to grapple immediately with the issue of the debt ceiling. In the past, Congress has routinely voted to lift this bar, but that tool has become a contentious issue, with Republican budget hawks calling for drastic spending reductions instead.

We and many others had fun yesterday at Joe Biden’s expense. He tweeted an announcement: the Equal Rights Amendment has been adopted! It’s the law of the land! No one took it seriously; if a president really tried to change the Constitution via executive order, he would be impeached and driven from office. Personally, I doubt Biden has any idea that he tweeted the supposed adoption of the ERA. I assume that was done by some nameless intern in the White House. Democrats see no problem with the fact that we have a president who has no idea what is going on. Happily, we have only two more days to go.
