After weeks of speculation that the most famous marriage in politics was in trouble, Barack Obama posted a fawning tribute to the “love of his life,” Michelle Obama, in honor of her 61st birthday on Friday.
“You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace — and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!,” he wrote on Instagram, beneath a photo of the casually-dressed couple holding hands over dinner.
“Love you, honey!” his wife quickly replied.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass got into office promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and promising to tackle homelessness and pollution — but she never promised to drain the swamp. Now she stands accused of adding to it, through “legalized corruption” and a number of eye opening scandals which have come to light after renewed scrutiny in the last two weeks following the revelation Bass and her cronies defunded the Los Angeles Fire Department by $17 million, contributing to them being underprepared to tackle the wildfires currently destroying the city.

On Friday afternoon, CNN's senior national security analyst, Juliette Kayyem, preemptively tried to undermine President-elect Donald Trump from being able to take credit for lower border numbers after he takes office as the ex-Barack Obama administration member and former Democrat politician suggested that President Joe Biden had already fixed the problem, and that Trump would only be taking credit for low numbers that already exist.
As Kayyem and CNN News Central host Brianna Keilar discussed the Senate confirmation hearings for Homeland Security Secretary-designate Kristi Noem, Kayyem asserted that "the immigration agenda has nothing to do with enforcement anymore. The numbers are down -- the Southern border numbers are down."

Washington— President Biden and his aides have spent their final days in office announcing 32 executive actions — on topics from immigration to offshore drilling — aimed at tying up President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.
The lame-duck 82-year-old’s flurry of late moves to try to make himself a hero to Democrats and obstruct his successor’s agenda include: (Photo) Deportation protection

Granting Temporary Protected Status to almost 1 million people, meaning they are protected from deportation and entitled to work permits. The action, decreed by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Jan. 10, shields 234,000 Salvadorans, 1,900 Sudanese, 104,000 Ukrainians and 600,000 Venezuelans for a period of 18 months.

The US Treasury Department will start taking "extraordinary measures" next week to avoid risking a default on government debt, Secretary Janet Yellen said Friday, days before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
With the government reaching its borrowing limit, the department would start making the moves on Tuesday, the day after the inauguration, Yellen said in a letter to congressional leaders. That will mean Trump's administration has to grapple immediately with the issue of the debt ceiling. In the past, Congress has routinely voted to lift this bar, but that tool has become a contentious issue, with Republican budget hawks calling for drastic spending reductions instead.

It’s official: the Biden era is ending, and the return of Donald Trump to the White House is just 48 hours away. Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson posted a video on X with the caption, “Moving day in the West Wing.” As the outgoing president participates in the inauguration ceremonies, the White House staff undertakes a rapid transformation of the executive residence to accommodate the incoming first family. This operation is typically completed within a span of approximately five to six hours, according to abc News.

The French king Louis XV is credited with saying “après moi le deluge,” meaning he didn’t care what happens after he was gone. Biden has not said the same, but his actions make clear that he’s perfectly happy to see the country weak and bankrupt and the Constitution torched when he leaves office and Donald Trump takes over for a remarkable second term. The press, which has covered for Biden most of his term, is now trying to hide their obvious airbrushing of the worst president in modern history and stay afloat. While much of the civil service seems ready to sabotage Trump once again, the very thought

Heartbroken TikTokers are going cuckoo.
Users of the now defunct social app nationwide are mourning its loss early Sunday, after the popular video-sharing platform went dark for its 170 million American users in the face of a legal US ban.
“ITS GONE TIKTOK IS GONE,” one user posted to X with a gif of someone nervously smoking.
A podcaster with more than 1.8 followers named iJustine helped lead the hysteria on X: “It’s been 15 minutes and I’m already going through TikTok withdrawals. THIS IS A CRIME.” (X Video) Mikayla Nogueira, a makeup influencer with 16 million TikTok followers, said she keeps clicking to open the app out of habit

A lot of us Catholics have been weirded out by President Trump's closeness to Catholic culture. We couldn't figure out where it came from. Last year, he wished the Virgin Mary a happy birthday. He tweeted an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He issued praise for All Saints Day. (Snip) It all began a few years ago when Father Mann was walking through a Queens cemetery and came upon the gravesite of Trump’s parents and grandparents.
“It was slightly overgrown,” Father Mann recalled. “I thought this shouldn’t be. This is a historic site. So, I went and bought a weed whacker and some decorations and fixed up the plot.

President Trump is assembling an administration stocked with prominent gay and lesbian Americans — defying hysterical Democratic rhetoric.
“When it comes to whether you’re gay or straight, black or white and all those markers others calculate — President Trump is decision blind. He bases his decision on the kind of job he knows you will do, period,” said Bill White, a top Trump fundraiser — who was tapped to serve as the US ambassador to Belgium.
Among the picks:
Scott Bessent, 62, treasury secretary. If confirmed, the hedge fund manager would be the highest-ranking openly gay official in US history.

“Sir, why did you pause LNG exports to Europe?” the speaker asked. “I didn’t do that,” Biden replied. He had, three weeks earlier—but he wasn’t aware of what he’d signed.
The Republican speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has had a front-row seat to the intellectual decline of Joe Biden. On Friday, in an interview with Bari Weiss for Honestly, Johnson shared an anecdote that demonstrated just how checked out the outgoing president has been. During the third week of January 2024, Johnson was invited to a meeting at the Oval Office with several of Biden’s top national security advisers and cabinet chiefs.

We and many others had fun yesterday at Joe Biden’s expense. He tweeted an announcement: the Equal Rights Amendment has been adopted! It’s the law of the land! No one took it seriously; if a president really tried to change the Constitution via executive order, he would be impeached and driven from office.
Personally, I doubt Biden has any idea that he tweeted the supposed adoption of the ERA. I assume that was done by some nameless intern in the White House. Democrats see no problem with the fact that we have a president who has no idea what is going on. Happily, we have only two more days to go.
