Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is blaming the raging California wildfires on climate change. “80,000 people told to evacuate. Blazes 0% contained. Eight months since the area has seen rain. The scale of damage and loss is unimaginable,” the senator began before blaming the devastation not on poor fire management but on climate change. “Climate change is real, not ‘a hoax,'” he said, demanding President-elect Donald Trump to “treat this like the existential crisis it is.” (X) Sanders made no mention of the fact that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) — who was not in LA but on a trip to Ghana

No rain for 8 months? Sanders apparently slept through December, in which "atmospheric river" events hit up and down the California coastline, north, central, and south -- and the way much of the coast had enough rain to cause flash flooding and mudslides.

Bernie Sanders is fruitloops. The Fire is there because of high winds, poor forest management and completely moronic management of water, of which California has plenty!! But the Democrats have been lining their pockets, instead of maintaining infrastructure - the same reason Hurricane Katrina was so bad. Human greed plants the seed and Chaos follows. You people are getting what you voted for.

The earliest known wildfire in California history was the Santiago Canyon Fire of 1889. It burned around 300,000 acres in parts of Orange County, San Diego County, and Riverside County.1 Before 2018, this was the largest wildfire in the state’s history in terms of acreage burned. Those 1889 model year SUVs were a real problem.

Sanders does not know the history of California winds. The winds have been strong this time of year and is documented in history before California became a state. There are 8 ecological zones in California and each is really different from the others. Sanders is another person that should not be in the Senate as the is chronologically challenged.

A few lucky Malibu homes are miraculously still standing after they somehow escaped the Palisades Fire as nearly all the neighboring houses were reduced to ash. Among the charred remains of luxurious million-dollar mansions along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, only a select few buildings survived after the inferno tore through the exclusive city — and is still burning out of control, aerial photos show. One massive three-story home overlooking the Pacific Ocean appeared to have avoided significant damage even as rubble-piles of what were once houses still smoldered to its north and south in the wildfire’s wake.

When three 1-million-gallon capacity water storage tanks in Pacific Palisades went dry Tuesday night, firefighters were forced to abandon efforts to save thousands of homes. LA Department of Water and Power (LADWP) CEO Janisse Quiñones has repeatedly claimed during press conferences that her utility did everything it could to prepare for the forecasted wind event and support the Los Angeles Fire Department as it responded, but left out one key fact: the Santa Ynez Reservoir in the hills above Pacific Palisades, which holds 117 million gallons of water and normally feeds those tanks, had been drained and taken offline for repairs to its cover even though the state's brush fire
