Stacey Abrams: Trump election wasn’t
‘seismic shift’

Democrat Stacey Abrams, the renowned voting rights activist and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate, argued the U.S. was nearly “evenly divided” when President-elect Trump won the 2024 presidential election over Vice President Harris. “Donald Trump won the election, but it wasn’t a landslide,” Abrams, who lost two election bids for governor in the Peach State, said in an interview Monday with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. “It was an evenly divided nation. He got more people, but this was not the seismic shift where 57, 58 percent of America said no.” “It was less than 50 percent of the electorate who said this

Comments:

Stacey, of all people, should not be commenting on seismic recordings. Kamalala blew over $1 Billion and won exactly Zero swing states. But hey - if you want Kamalala to give it another go in 2028, we're all for it.

Wanna see a seismic shift, Aunt Jemima? Wait till Musk & Ramaswamy start whittling away at gvt waste spending, or Tom Homan starts sending squads of ICE into blue cities pursuing illegals, or Patel starts releasing FBI docs unredacted regarding J6. That should satisfy your criteria for a landslide.

Much as I deplore this vile woman, she is right. Trump did not win in a landslide. Yes he won both Presidency and the Congress - but just. We MUST realize this and not get as arrogant as the Dims have been because it could all end in less than two years if our elected fail to keep their promises. This November was only a start - game one as it were. We cannot relax and let down our guard.

It was a seismic shift. No, we are not talking about vote totals here. A man incessantly slurred by opposition party members, by the media, by TV commentators; a man targeted by government agencies with false criminal charges, all that and more, and he won. This is a seismic shift in perception and the loss of effectiveness of certain political methodologies

I'm with #12. Trump won a bunch of states, but many of them by only a couple of percent of the vote. Yes, the Pubbies have the majority in both sides of Congress, but only just barely. The Pubbies control of the chairmanships SHOULD give them control of the agenda, but the 'Rats have plenty of ways to stall, stall, stall and gridlock everything..... which is exactly what they are setting up to do. We need to do everything we can, in ways great and small, to help push the MAGA agenda and push back against the Lamestreams firehose of Leftist lies.

A little perspective is in order. Trump won with 275 electoral votes. Flip Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona and say hello to President Kamela Harris. It wasn't a landslide. Trump won the popular vote by around 5 million votes. With vote totals of over 150 million votes, the difference is around 3%. That is close. The MSM and Democrats will be anti-Trump for the next 4 years. There will be plenty of opportunity to gain ground in 2026. Neither Biden or Trump will be running in 2028, and that's a good thing for Democrats. The Democrats are great at believing their own lies and rhetoric. That is something Republicans should not emulate.

The margins seemed small in comparison to the difference in enthusiasm on both sides. I do not think that the winners sitting back and resting their laurels while claiming a seismic shift is warranted or wise. The left never sleeps and the rich and powerful never stop scheming. I am interested in the what the counts would be absent the "curating" of votes in various regions. I would like to see if a genuine investigation in the differences of voting patterns between the voter id required and no voter id required states revealed any interesting patterns. I have heard claims of ten house seats being shifted left by various tactics. What if there was significant vote fraud but the momentum of the anti-dem pro-Trump movement simply overwhelmed the fraud? If so, that momentum will probably be absent in 2026. A seismic shift would be the Republicans winning more Senate and House seats in 2026. And winning a 3rd term for a MAGA candidate in 2028.

Not a "landslide" but substantial. We also don't know how many votes for Kamala were false and illegal. They just couldn't find enough for her to win. Also count the relentless smears and lies from the media attacking DJT, it's a wonder he won. I also think Someone was looking out for this nation when Trump turned his head at that split second in Pennsyvania. I am not sure we deserve His help. This may be our last chance.

If the amount of red on the election map had been blue, Kamala would have been heralded with words like "landslide" "shellacking" "wipe out" "tidal wave" or "blowout." In addition to the massive shift to the GOP, there was also some cheating in this election that was ignored because it was the losers who cheated so Trump did even better than was indicated. When Pennsylvania, a state that has been held in a death grip by crooked democrats for decades, goes red, that's a landslide.

Here's Rick Caruso, former candidate for LA mayor, describing the problem. FIle this next clip under "too good to check" but apparently this morning one local LA anchor tried to discount what Caruso was saying only to have a reporter contradict him a minute later. That knee-jerk urge to contradict whatever criticism Democrats are getting is one surefire way the media consistently sets its own credibility on fire. By this afternoon,

While much of the nation’s attention has been focused on the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral took place on Thursday. What was intended to be a somber occasion, however, quickly became charged with tension so thick attendees could feel it in the air.Among the ceremonial obligations to honor the former president, the spectacle of political posturing and strained handshakes was enough to quite the sideshow. Just kidding. Of course you saw it coming! Such is life in 2025. And it's coming from both sides, of course. Left, right, center, green party (don't know if that one is true) – it's an absolute battle right now over who's at fault, why it happened, and how we stop it from happening again.

Under the terms of the amendment, U.S. senators would be restricted to two six-year terms and representatives in the U.S. House to three two-year terms. According to the resolution, the amendment would take effect within seven years of being approved by Congress and ratified by the states.

The Supreme Court on Thursday denied President-elect Donald Trump’s bid to delay his Friday morning sentencing in the New York hush money case. The Supreme Court’s order clears the way for Manhattan judge Juan Merchan to impose the long-awaited sentence on the incoming president. Merchan said he would not give Trump jail time, fines, or probation during the virtual hearing. Scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, the sentencing comes ten days before Trump’s inauguration. In the Supreme Court’s brief order published Thursday evening, five justices denied Trump’s application for postponing the sentencing date. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh — all of whom were appointed by Republican presidents
