Biden Forces Settlement in Dockworkers

The dockworkers' union has agreed to return to work after the White House intervened and strong-armed the U.S. Maritime Alliance, representing shipping companies, to give the union what they wanted regarding wages.
The dockworkers will return to work immediately under the old contract and the two sides will have until January 15 to hammer out the outstanding issues.
Why Biden didn't intervene to prevent the strike is clear. He wanted the International Longshoreman Union (ILA) to demonstrate its muscle and willingness to shut down the U.S. economy to get what it wanted.

Unfair treatment of employees is one of the reasons unions got started in the beginning. Because of the baseness of human nature, unions became opportunities for criminals and socialists to enrich themselves. I’m no fan of unions. I had to join the Teamsters as a youth. It never did a damned thing for me other than take out a good chunk of my weekly pay. Unions choke free commerce.

Like the Los Angeles firefighter several years ago who was charged with starting a fire for the purpose of fighting it: As I commented two days ago, the whole point of striking now was to allow Joe and Kamala to be seen saving the day.

This was a no-brainer. It was “hinted” to Daggett on a phone call from the White House, that there were questions as to how, on a $900,000 salary, he had a $5,000,000 house, a Bentley, and a yacht. Daggett is a good listener. Strike postponed for now.

My guess is DeSantis' authorization of the Florida National Guard to the Florida ports to expedite off loading goods had a bigger impact than JaBiden.

I don't believe the union agreed to continue under the old contract terms, even to Jan 15, 2025. I saw that the company agreed to a 62% wage increase that would be reflected in pay for the months until Jan 15. That is a 10.33% annual pay raise. Who is getting that?

I knew, I just knew that Brain-Dead would take credit! I accidently saw a clip of him on the Fox News last night, and it was pathetic! Why is this fool allowed out of the White Hose without supervision?? He can't walk or talk and does not even know where or who he is! But it also occurs to me that this could all be staged for sympathy, and I am very surprised that he didn't, as always, blame Real President Trump for all of this! Dear Lord, please hurry November and especially January.
Amen.

The way I see it (based on the article) is that the Biden regime strongarmed the shippers (through the USMA) to force them to acquiesce to the union's demands (at least for the interim). Net effect? Kamala and Joe win the votes of the union members and possibly sway the American public potentially impacted by the strike. There was a reason that the MSM was in hysterics about grocery store shelves being empty, despite the fact that only tropical fruits and coffee were likely directly impacted at the store.
This was all a political stunt - a show for the media and fear porn for the sheeple to directly influence the election.

And, Gov Ton DeSantis muscled right back, as I’m sure other Republican governors of coastal states would have.

DeSantis strong arm tactic just announcing he was not going to sit by while Florida ports lay idle did more than Biden, I betchya. The Union and evil are in this together. Union boss knows Harris needs this to stop, you know they got raises and before dawn tomorrow, Harris will be given credit for VICTORY.

Nobody won because it was a compromise on one issue contingent on them resolving the remaining issues 90 days down the road. If they don't come to agreement on those issues by then, the pay raise compromise goes bye-bye. It did spare Kamalamadipstick the blame for any economic hardship a prolonged strike right before the election may have entailed, but beyond that nothing was solved with any certainty.

Wait,
What?
Biden forces settlement of strike?
The strike isn't settled... They merely agreed to put it off until after the election so that people aren't rioting in the streets because they can't get anything on their Christmas Shopping list or that new big screen TV to watch the Super Bowl.
The current regime and the Union heads figured out that the strike might get Trump a few extra votes due to bare store shelves.

What exactly did Biden do? Some of his people went to the shipping companies and strong armed them into accepting the 62% wage increase and the union bosses to go along with it. The union is still mad about automation and this will remain a sticking point as it is crazy to think that there will be no automation in the future. The Longshoreman Union has a monopoly on employment at ports in the US. The government has turned a blind eye to their corruption and monopolistic practices. If the Longshoreman Union were a corporation, the US Government would be all over them and try to break them up as a monopoly for being too powerful. Maybe this needs to be considered.

Now that the strike has been delayed, fake ballots can be delivered by ship ahead of the elections. Looks like QueMALA Sutra and Tampon Tim Walz will be needing all the illegal ballots they can get!
