On August 21, Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin went to the Democratic National Convention to beg for their son Hersh’s life. A week later, Hamas terrorists shot and killed him in an underground tunnel in Gaza, where he had been held hostage for 11 months. President Joe Biden’s response was a letter of condolence.
That’s as strong an example as any of why rivals, adversaries, and enemies perceive Washington as weak, feckless, and unwilling to respond to grave and increasing threats facing America and our allies. It is likely that the president’s diminished capacity, no longer hidden by his White House staff,

Senator Tom Cotton appears on the CNN show State of The Union with Dana Bash. Apparently, the joint U.S. State Dept./CNN production team in control of setting election year objectives have decided to resuscitate the “Russia, Russia, Russia” election conspiracy.
After an initial question about Liz and Dick Cheney endorsing Kamala Harris, CNN host Dana Bash then spent the next several minutes questioning Tom Cotton about reports that Russia is funding various alternative information podcasters and pundits.
Perhaps by now everyone should know the Russian government laugh at how the U.S. media push the ridiculous accusations about Russian interference.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit Friday to stop a county from using taxpayer dollars to pay a voter registration firm aligned with progressives to identify unregistered voters.
Travis County is allegedly illegally paying taxpayer dollars to Civic Government Solutions (CGS), a voter registration firm, to create a list of unregistered voters for the county, according to the lawsuit. Travis County, home of Austin, Texas, is solidly blue, and CGS CEO Jeremy Smith has made statements in the past that encourage people to vote for progressive candidates.

Haven’t you heard?! Crime is down.
In the lead up to election day in November, this refrain has become a favorite of Democrats who’d like you to forget their flirtations with — and, in many cases, explicit support for — defunding the police.
That’s on top of the dozens of police and criminal justice “reforms” they enacted in the wake of George Floyd’s murder in 2020. The headlines speak volumes: Through mid-August of this year, murders and shootings in Gotham are each down 10% compared to the same period in 2023.
And in 2023, those numbers were also lower than they were in 2022.
But something’s fishy here.

A police department in Texas may soon be using drones to respond to emergency calls, according to Police Chief Brian Jones.
The Bee Cave Police Department offered a demonstration of their autonomous drone system on Friday morning, known as "AV8."
The demonstration was part of a pilot project to test the AV8, which also consists of a computer system to keep drones on-target. Both are built by eve Vehicles, which is a start-up based in Austin. Well, it's a force multiplier for us, really, because it serves as an eye in the sky and gives us real-time information before an officer even arrives at the location,"

As it has done every month this year, the Biden administration continues to gaslight the public about job growth. Each month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports headline-grabbing job-creation numbers, then quietly cuts that number in subsequent months – often by huge amounts.
The latest report is no exception. The headline Friday is that the economy created 142,000 jobs in August – a figure that is close to economists’ expectations and that prompted CNN to cheer “The sky is not falling.”
But buried in the report is the fact that the BLS sharply cut the number of jobs created in both June and July.

The top Department of Justice spokesman for the Southern District of New York was caught on a hidden camera lambasting Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump, calling the case “nonsense” and accusing Democrats of being “out to get” the Republican presidential nominee. Nicholas Biase, chief spokesman for the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office, was secretly recorded in July and August dishing about Bragg and his “hush-money” case against Trump by an undercover journalist for conservative commentator Steven Crowder’s “Mug Club.” Crowder released the shocking footage on Thursday, saying at the onset that Biase was “not the bad guy here,” but an “unwitting whistleblower.”

Local politicians called for Police Commissioner Edward Caban’s ouster Friday after the feds shockingly raided his home earlier this week.
But Mayor Eric Adams appears to be sticking with his handpicked top cop, at least for now, and is considering bringing on a celebrity attorney to represent him should any legal troubles be in the offing, The Post has learned.
The attorney — Alex Spiro, of the Los Angeles-based Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan law firm — was once referred to by The New Yorker as the man who “keeps the rich and famous above the law” and has a laundry list of swanky clients,

There’s a new chapter in the saga of the Colorado apartment complexes that have been overrun, and de facto seized, by gang members who are suspected to be illegal aliens; they are in fact illegal aliens, part of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua cartel, and admitted to the United States by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, confirmed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after four of the criminals were recently arrested. For some of the earlier developments, see an essay I wrote on the viral video of heavily armed gang members caught on a doorbell camera,

The House Education and Workforce Committee is yet again doing the job the media won’t, by holding Dem VP hopeful Tim Walz accountable for his atrocious record as Minnesota governor — this time over an infamous, massive episode of COVID fraud.
Quick recap: A Minnesota charity, Feeding Our Future, took advantage of pandemic-era rules that let student-meal programs cooperate off school grounds to run as many as 250 utterly fake meal-assistance sites to siphon off close to a cool $250 million in federal aid funds.
That was spent not on feeding kids but on things like luxury cars and high-end real estate; per Attorney General Merrick Garland,

The possibility of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. becoming Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary if former President Trump wins has rankled Democrats and the public health community as he gains influence within the former president’s transition team.
Speculation about Kennedy’s future role has grown after Nicole Shanahan, who was Kennedy’s running mate before he suspended his campaign last month, said recently that he would do “an incredible job” at HHS should Trump win in November.

Must Watch Video Remarks from
@IsraeliPM
@netanyahu
: "I was asked whether I am not doing enough to the release of hostages. Well, I want to set the record straight. On April 27th, Secretary of State Blinken said that, ‘Israel made an extraordinary, generous offer for a hostage deal.' On May 31st, Israel agreed to a U.S.-backed proposal. Hamas refused. On August 16th, Israel agreed to what the United States defined as a ‘final bridging proposal.’ Hamas refused again. On August 19th, Secretary Blinken said, ‘Israel accepted the U.S. proposal. Now Hamas must do the same.’
