With his assault on the Philippines, Xi could be finally making his own move in East Asia.
Beijing claims all the features and waters inside its infamous "cow's tongue," now defined by ten dashes on official maps, which encloses about 85% of the South China Sea. Those waters, the Chinese proclaim, are "blue national soil."
It appears... that China's leader is not planning to start hostilities with an invasion of the main island of Taiwan. Xi, in the domestic political landscape he has shaped, knows he is vulnerable, especially because his policies are being blamed for making a deteriorating situation worse.

Kamala Harris wants government to help first-time homebuyers by making the age-old mistake of using government subsidies. What she should have learned from her economics and history classes, however, is that government subsidies uniformly fail – a fact proven by America’s dangerous education debt crisis. On the one hand, we have to give Kamala Harris some credit for being honest. She has refused to answer any questions about her policies in the face of criticism about her past liberal views. Despite that, her first policy proposals turned out to be every bit as liberal as people warned she was – if not more.

While Robert F. Kennedy Jr's family has been attacking him over his political beliefs for at least the last year, their behavior since he announced his support of the Trump/Vance presidential ticket has been shameful, to say the least. RFK Jr's wife, actress Cheryl Hines, is standing by her husband even though she doesn't agree with him politically and even though she undoubtedly will pay a heavy professional price for her loyalty and love. It's no secret that her "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-star Larry David has one of the more severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome in Hollywood, and her other colleagues are right there with him.

Pavel Durov and his brother Nikolai are genuinely brilliant tech programmers, mathematicians and entrepreneurs. The Durov brothers founded the Telegram communication app in 2013. Telegram now has 950 million active users who can send messages, photos and videos, take part in chats for groups of up to 200,000 people and broadcast to unlimited audiences. Telegram is the preferred messaging and communication app for those concerned with privacy. In my own travels, plans and purposeful interactions, I use Telegram frequently. It is the best communication tool available, and the tech interface is brilliant. However, various government agencies hate Telegram because of the privacy it provides.

On Friday, we faced yet another black swan event. We’ve had an attempted Trump assassination, the surprise coup against President Biden, and now Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s, defection and joining up with Donald Trump. Before getting into this and a discussion of the DNC convention in Chicago, I want to expose the partisan perfidy of NPR’s Judy Woodruff and the ease with which she and the press are manipulated by the deep state. During the convention, Judy Woodruff reported (using the most authoritative voice and concerned visage she could muster) that Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

It is grotesque that Qatar should be recognized for its contributions to "maintaining national and regional security" in the Middle East given that it has long been openly supporting Islamist terrorist organizations and serving as a home and haven for the Hamas leadership.
"[H]istory will not forget that the Qatari Al-Jazeera was and still is a platform for leaders of terrorism.... Al-Jazeera is now playing the same tole in spreading speeches of the leader of the Al-Houthi terrorist militia." — General Secretariat of the Council of Senior [Islamic] Scholars in Saudi Arabia, March 27, 2018.

Democrats are delighting in needling former President Trump over his insecurities and baiting him into reactions, believing they are taking him off message and helping Vice President Harris’s surging campaign.
The needling, for Trump, is unending.Former first lady Michelle Obama delivered one of the most memorable lines of the Democratic convention Tuesday night when she suggested Trump might be seeking a “Black job” in running against Harris for the White House.
After Michelle Obama left the stage, former President Obama arrived to bash Trump over his “weird obsession with crowd sizes,” adding a hand gesture that implied he was mocking Trump’s manhood.

Conservatives were making hay about Kamala Harris’ latest “word salad” at a campaign event in Pennsylvania, where, in an attempt to sound intelligent, she went on about the “duality of democracy.”
“They took Kamala off the teleprompter today in Pennsylvania,” Outkick.com founder Clay Travis posted on X. “It didn’t go well.”
But conservatives have it wrong. It’s actually much worse than that.
Harris has been uttering this particular word salad for years – robotically, using almost the exact same phraseology, and at almost any public event where she was allowed to speak, whether or not it was relevant.

During a pre-trial hearing in Hunter Biden’s federal tax evasion case Wednesday, defense attorney Mark Geragos revealed his team’s unsurprising strategy and prosecutors laid out some details of the evidence they plan to introduce during the trial, which is scheduled to begin September 5 in Los Angeles. Attorneys for both sides argued their motions in limine, which are "motions that seek the exclusion of specific evidence or arguments from being presented during a trial."

It’s infuriating that House Republicans waited so long to release their devastating report that President Biden committed impeachable offenses when he “actively participated” in a foreign influence-peddling conspiracy to enrich his family and then defrauded the American voter by lying about his abuse of office.
Even more infuriating is that Biden will not be held accountable by Congress for his malfeasance.
It’s hard to find a clearer-cut case for impeachment than selling access to the White House to foreigners, including the Chinese Communist Party, for tens of millions of dollars.

Earlier today the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) revised the annual jobs report to remove 818,000 previously recorded jobs.
[…] “The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised down its total tally of jobs created in the year through March by 818,000 as part of its preliminary annual benchmark review of payroll data. That suggests the economy added an average of 174,000 jobs per month during that time period — below the previous 242,000 estimate. On a monthly basis, that amounts to about 68,000 fewer jobs. It marks the largest downward revision since 2009.” (read more)

Kamala Harris helped a controversial bail fund rake in millions of dollars, which it spent on getting violent criminals back on the streets in the name of “social justice” — only for some of them to commit more crimes, including murder.
Among the freed criminals: A twice-convicted male sex-offender who went on to allegedly assault other women before his re-arrest and a man who left a victim with a traumatic brain injury after being sprung from jail while awaiting trial for another felony assault.
Following the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of police,
