This is an adapted excerpt from “Go Woke, Go Broke: The Inside Story of the Radicalization of Corporate America” (Center Street, August 6).
Whether it’s channeled through ESG or DEI, corporate wokeism is a farce on so many levels that it’s hard to keep track.
Google is said to be a paragon of ESG compliance (what’s the carbon footprint of a search engine?). Yet it’s one of the worst enforcers of speech codes among its employees, as the sad situation of James Damore shows.
He was a Google engineer until he decided to write a memo assailing the left-wing bias in the Google corporate culture. That’s when he was fired.

It's hard to believe it's been six years, but in 2018 I covered a story that nearly broke the internet. The headline: "96 Percent of My Google Search Results for 'Trump' News Were from Liberal Media Outlets."When I did a search in August of that election year for "Trump" on Google News, here's what happened: I noted: "I performed the search a multiple times using different computers (registered to different users) and Google returned similar results. While not scientific, the results suggest a pattern of bias against right-leaning content." The late Lou Dobbs tweeted it, and Trump retweeted him.

[T]his reduction [of greenhouse gas emissions] structures and determines the whole of the Commission's program, because all human activity -- industrial, commercial and private -- emits greenhouse gases. In fact, in a program document published by the Commission in February 2024, already under the aegis of von der Leyen, are plans to invest 1.5 trillion euros per year in decarbonizing the European Union, and to this end take authoritarian measures in all areas of human activity. The amount is equivalent to 10% of Europe's GDP -- every year. Apparently this policy is the uncompromising model found in every party in Germany, but apart from a war effort,

The US has found no evidence that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro received the most votes in last month’s presidential election and the Biden administration will recognize opposition candidate Edmundo González as the winner, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Thursday.
Blinken, 62, ripped the Maduro-controlled National Electoral Council’s (CNE) vote tally and determination that the incumbent prevailed in the July 28 election with 51% of the vote as “deeply flawed” and unrepresentative of the “will of the Venezuelan people,” in a statement released by the State Department.

According to a new poll conducted by The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports, more than 60 percent of likely voters, both nationally and in the battleground states, are concerned that cheating will affect the outcome of the 2024 election. Specifically, 62 percent of likely national voters expressed concern about election integrity, with 37 percent saying they are very concerned and 25 percent somewhat concerned. Throughout the swing states (Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan), the exact same number of likely voters, 62 percent, believe the 2024 election will be tainted by election fraud, with 38 percent very concerned and 24 percent somewhat concerned.

It’s been exactly two weeks and given the prior feedback and medical advice shared by Dr Ronny Jackson, it looks like he was correct. Dr Jackson said given Trump’s health status he expected the cartilage and flesh to naturally close on the wound in two weeks.
President Trump was photographed without the bandage as he arrived at the airport today [SOURCE]. The right ear looks really good:Good genetics + Good prayers for healing = Good outcome
Also, President Trump has said he will NOT STOP holding outdoor rallies!

The Biden administration is extremely worried Hezbollah’s rocket attack on Golan Heights Saturday that killed at least 12 and wounded dozens of others could “trigger” a full-scale war between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group, according to a report.
US officials are fretting that without a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas terrorists over the ongoing fighting in Gaza, a war between the Jewish state and Iran-backed Hezbollah is becoming more likely — which will fuel the regional crisis and drag the United States even further into the ongoing conflict, Axios reported.
“What happened today could be the trigger we have been worried about and tried to avoid for 10 months,”

Miranda Devine has an interesting op-ed today in the New York Post, sharing information gleaned from a group of law enforcement who are no longer cooperating with what they see as a highly politicized FBI. The underlying issue is not a surprise to many of us, and the specific reasons for the distrust and lack of cooperation are, not surprisingly, exactly what we predicted long before their assembly came together.

The most basic unresolved question about Husain's metamorphosis, is why he chose to name his "Muslim anti-Islamist extremism organization"— since disbanded — after William "Abdullah" Quilliam, a lunatic, late 19th century British convert to Islam. Quilliam, a Sharia supremacist, was appointed "Sheikh ul-Islam of the British Isles," sought the re-creation of a global Caliphate, and, in a March 1896 fatwa, supported the jihadist Sudanese Mahdist state against "infidel" British soldiers.

A campaign official for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris acknowledged Wednesday that the vice president is deliberately misleading voters about Project 2025.
CNN first reported the stunning admission as part of a fact-check article accusing Harris of making false claims about Project 2025 and former President Donald Trump’s stance on Social Security. CNN’s Daniel Dale revealed Since entering the presidential race Sunday, Harris and her campaign have repeatedly tried to link Project 2025 to Trump, despite the former president’s pushback.

Russia has been in the news a lot in recent years, and for good reason. With the war in Ukraine and America’s heightening military tensions with Russia, not to mention Russia’s history with America extending back to the Cold War era, Americans have generally had uneasy feelings about Russia for at least a century. Modern anxieties concerning Russia aside, there is an old area of concern that was largely cast aside after the early 90’s that I think is important to examine, namely communism. It’s not that Russia is explicitly looking to overtake America with communism in our day, though some have made that case.

Democrats love to brag about how they are defenders of “democracy.”
Which is odd, because 2024 will be the first presidential contest in modern history featuring a nominee who wasn’t chosen by voters.
Kamala Harris did not get a single vote in the primaries. And the same cabal that propped up Joe Biden, that hid his ailments, that put the nation in a perilous position, that used him to push hard-left policies, that bypassed the electorate, now promises that Harris is the very best person for the job.
Why would anyone believe them?
Al Sharpton contends that Kamala’s candidacy is a “grassroots” movement. Which is laughable. She has never displayed impressive political instincts.
