Donald Trump held his first campaign rally since being shot and thanked his supporters Saturday for their outpouring of love while ridiculing Democrats for being a party of corrupt insiders intent on dislodging their leader in a coup.
Gone was the big, white, gauze-filled bandage that he wore during the week to protect his wounded ear. It was replaced with a smaller, flesh-colored dressing.
'Last week I took a bullet for democracy,' he said to roars of support. As Joe Biden, 81, recovers out-of-sight at home from COVID-19, 78-year-old Trump walked out to a thunderous welcome, providing an extraordinary political split screen for the 2024 election.

Embattled Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has unabashedly embraced woke initiatives at the agency ever since she took over two years ago — including recruiting at Pride events, hosting seminars on pronoun use and even bringing in a popular YouTube female daredevil to attract a more diverse workforce.
Cheatle, 53, unveiled her marching orders in the Secret Service’s 2023-2027 strategic plan, demanding agents to be “focused on achieving excellence through talent, technology and diversity,” documents reviewed by The Post show.
“We must embrace diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) across the agency,” wrote Cheatle, a longtime friend of First Lady Jill Biden who was plucked in 2022 from her previous job

President Joe Biden is dead set on beating former President Donald Trump despite facing pressure from dozens of Democrats to drop out.
More than 30 Congressional Democrats, including donors and former President Obama, have urged Biden to drop out—even his family is now reportedly on board with the idea. However, Biden is committed to the idea that he is the only candidate to beat Trump.
And it doesn't help that people close to the president, such as Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE), are blowing smoke up his ears, telling him he has a chance.
As of this week, Trump leads Biden by +3.0.

Former White House doctor Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) released a memo on Saturday that former President Donald Trump is “doing well” after the assassination attempt on him last Saturday, noting that it was “an absolute miracle” that Trump had not been killed.
In his memo, Jackson wrote that he had met with Trump in New Jersey “late that evening,” and had also “been with” Trump “since that time,” doing evaluations and treating him. Jackson’s memo comes a week after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots from the rooftop of a nearby building with a direct line of sight of Trump.

Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas defended the presence of women serving in the United States Secret Service, noting that they “deserve our gratitude and respect.”
In a statement released on Saturday, Mayorkas wrote that the “statements questioning the presence of women in law enforcement,” in the aftermath of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump were “baseless and insulting.”
Mayorkas’s statement comes a week after an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The former president was shot by a “bullet that pierced the upper part” of his right ear after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from the rooftop of a nearby building,

Secret Service officials refused to provide Donald Trump with additional security in the two years prior to last weekend's assassination, according to a report.
The damning report has revealed that the ex-president's request for more agents and magnetometers at events he attended was denied.
Four insiders told The Washington Post that each request was rejected by senior officials. The higher-ups of the Secret Service allegedly claimed that the agency lacked the resources Trump was asking for. It has also been revealed that Trump was receiving less protection, after losing the election and his bid for a second term in 2020, than other

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued that President Joe Biden should have already fired Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and there isn’t any need for an in-depth investigation to make that determination. Maher also argued that people have been fired for less.
Maher began by asking Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who was appearing in his personal capacity, “Should Joe Biden have fired the Secret Service head? I don’t understand that.” Buttigieg responded, “I’m not in on all the details of the homeland security side. I know there’s a really serious after-action report in process and a whole lot of scrutiny going on there.

Hilarious footage captured former First Lady Melania Trump wincing as Kid Rock performed at the Republican National Convention.
The singer and outspoken conservative took the stage in Milwaukee to warm up the crowd before Donald Trump gave the convention's primetime speech.
But his re-made version of 2000 hit 'American Bad A**' - with lyrics changed to include references to Trump - appeared to fail to impress the former First Lady. Melania grimaced as Kid Rock pumped his fist in the air and chanted 'fight', an apparent nod to Trump's iconic reaction to his assassination attempt a week ago.

Robert Kennedy Jr. stated that Biden is more dangerous to democracy than Donald Trump. Robert is misguided; Biden is senile and does not pose a threat to anyone. It’s the entire Democrat party that’s the greatest threat to our democracy.
During the 1960 presidential debates, Robert’s uncle, John Kennedy, highlighted the ideological difference between the Democrat and Republican parties. “We have a different philosophy for achieving the same objectives,” he said (emphasis added).
The times have changed, and the modern Democrat party is not the party of John Kennedy. It does not offer a different philosophy for achieving the same objectives. Intead, for years, it has had a different philosophy and

HONOLULU— David Letterman will headline a fundraiser with President Joe Biden in 10 days with Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, a sign that his campaign is forging ahead despite continued calls for the president to bow out of the 2024 race.
The fundraiser on July 29 will be at the home of a family friend on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Green told The Associated Press Friday. It will feature the longtime late-night host, plus Biden and first lady Jill Biden. The campaign has at least 10 other fundraising events over the last 10 days of July. Letterman helmed CBS’ “Late Show” for 22 seasons.

Fast forward to Wednesday night, when Vance delivered his speech accepting the Republican vice-presidential nomination — and MSNBC did everything in its power to underscore Vance’s argument.
While previewing the “Hillbilly Elegy” author’s remarks, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow dug herself a rabbit hole so deep, she must have made it to the center of the Earth.“‘Lord of the Rings’ is a sort of favorite cosmos for naming things and cultural references for a lot of far-right and alt-right figures, both in Europe and the United States,” she explained in the same, at once matter-of-fact and slightly unhinged manner Alex Jones might use to talk about frogs’ sexuality.

Republicans are far more united as a party than Democrats, Alex Pfeiffer with the pro-Trump Super PAC MAGA Inc. said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, showing a contrast between the two.
“Well, the great thing, Matt, is to juxtapose what’s happening on both sides,” Pfeiffer said during the appearance on the show, two days after the conclusion of the historic Republican National Convention. He pointed out that unity at the convention was clearly demonstrated by the mere fact that former President Donald Trump’s primary opponents stood up behind Trump after their heated primary race.
