HONOLULU— David Letterman will headline a fundraiser with President Joe Biden in 10 days with Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, a sign that his campaign is forging ahead despite continued calls for the president to bow out of the 2024 race.
The fundraiser on July 29 will be at the home of a family friend on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Green told The Associated Press Friday. It will feature the longtime late-night host, plus Biden and first lady Jill Biden. The campaign has at least 10 other fundraising events over the last 10 days of July. Letterman helmed CBS’ “Late Show” for 22 seasons.

He was funny.
Until he wasn’t.
And time had NOT been kind to him.
(Wonder if he’s still married?)

Well I'm sure Dave thought about it and decided Biden would be best to keep the borders open, continue the deficit spending, the high inflation and the soft on crime policies. 'That's what I want.'

Lettermen was funny but through the years his humor came at the expense of either people in either ridcule or contempt. He got more mean and his disdain for anything he didn't agree with or like was not funny and I stopped watching him.
But good for him I hope he keep pooppy-pants in the money and on the ticket!!!

I agree with poster #9. When Letterman became the late night host decades ago, he was charming and humble, and had that Midwest modesty. His humor was understated and interesting. Then he turned into a monster.

They probably tried to get the current late night "talent" and were laughed out of the room.

Years ago, the David Letterman show was funny. After he left the air, Letterman became a bitter and angry Democrat who should be co-hosting on The View of a regular on MSNBC.

Um, isn't staying/using a rich friends home an impeachable offense? Or does that only apply to conservative black judges on the SCOTUS?

We all knew way back when he was no Johnny Carson. Hence David Letterman NOT inheriting The Tonight Show. This guy continues to prove that was the correct decision.

It'll be interesting to find out if Letterman has any funny left over. I'll be able to read all about it, because you couldn't pay me to watch it--even if Biden could pay back all he's stolen from me.

Letterman never was funny. He was one of those people like Pauly Shore or Jack Black or Chevy Chase who seemed to come out of nowhere and, although not talented, cultivated a following of people who laughed uproariously on cue to vaguely humorous material.

As Letterman got older, he got meaner, too. I had to quit watch him because he was so nasty to some guests.
Perfect for Joe, two crazy, mean old men.

I remember watching Letterman, once, many years ago.
The show was so stupid, I could feel my brain cells dying as I was exposed to his brand of 'entertainment'.
I quickly changed the channel just to prevent further cerebral destruction, and I was careful to avoid that channel and time slot thereafter.
Somehow, the Biden people dragging Letterman out of his dusty crypt for a 'fundraiser' with Joe, the shuffling cadaver, just seems like a natural fit.
I wonder what will be written on Joe's Teleprompter for the event.

Is there some reason FJB can't be the headliner? He sure needs a lot of "propping up."

Too bad the island got rid of all of their 50 illegals. They would have loved to attend, and likely would have boosted the attendance numbers dramatically.
