Trump disavows ‘abysmal’ hard-right
‘Project 2025’ agenda for second term

Former President Donald Trump blasted a prospective policy agenda put forward by the conservative Heritage Foundation Friday, calling their plans “abysmal” and saying he has “nothing to do with them.” Project 2025, a collaboration of dozens of right-wing groups organized by Heritage, says it is meant to “get into the business of restoring this country through the combination of the right policies and well-trained people.” The project’s output includes a “180-day playbook” for the first six months of a new presidential administration — with proposed policies that have caused an uproar among liberals, including restrictions on immigration and abortion as well as shrinking the federal bureaucracy.

Lots of think tanks and advocacy groups, liberal and conservative, put out position papers and their "plans" each election cycle; hoping to influence the candidates and campaigns. The Democrats have attached Project 2025 to Trump because it is conservative. Even though Trump has nothing to do with it, he is guilty by association in their minds. This would be like attributing every liberal plan, from abortion advocacy, LGBTQ advocacy, transgender advocacy, slavery reparations, illegal immigration amnesty, and guaranteed universal income to Joe Biden.

Let Trump be Trump. He doesn't need think tank guidance. Follows own compass, has his own rudder. Worked well the first time. The presidency of the United States is vested in one man. Not a "project". The mere idea of the latter is appalling.

It is my recollection that Heritage is FILLED with a bunch of Never Trumpers. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. But, I'm not surprised at this BS even if some of the ideas might be good. I haven't read the document. But, any organization that truly wants Trump to win and succeed should not be publicizing ANYTHING that Trump has not seen and agrees with because the dems and media will hang it around Trump's neck. We need to win. PERIOD. And we all need to speak with one voice, Donald J. Trump's. That is if we want to win.

I hope Trump's plan is much stronger. All he really needs to do is fire a lot of people and shut down 95% of federal government. Oh, make sure they prosecute the biggest criminals in America. Everything else will naturally fall into place after those things take place.

Heritage should have sat down with Trump and/or his people and gone through every page of this program before publishing it. Trump will be the nominee. He needs a platform to run on. Project 2025 could have well formed the basis for such; maybe with a few edits here and there. But the fools at Heritage had to get out in front of the game and ended up with the candidate rejecting them.

Russia has been in the news a lot in recent years, and for good reason. With the war in Ukraine and America’s heightening military tensions with Russia, not to mention Russia’s history with America extending back to the Cold War era, Americans have generally had uneasy feelings about Russia for at least a century. Modern anxieties concerning Russia aside, there is an old area of concern that was largely cast aside after the early 90’s that I think is important to examine, namely communism. It’s not that Russia is explicitly looking to overtake America with communism in our day, though some have made that case.

Democrats love to brag about how they are defenders of “democracy.” Which is odd, because 2024 will be the first presidential contest in modern history featuring a nominee who wasn’t chosen by voters. Kamala Harris did not get a single vote in the primaries. And the same cabal that propped up Joe Biden, that hid his ailments, that put the nation in a perilous position, that used him to push hard-left policies, that bypassed the electorate, now promises that Harris is the very best person for the job. Why would anyone believe them? Al Sharpton contends that Kamala’s candidacy is a “grassroots” movement. Which is laughable. She has never displayed impressive political instincts.

Kamala Harris told migrants “do not come” to the US, but at least 8 million came anyway. In perhaps her most famous speech as vice president, which she made in June 2021 after she was given responsibility for securing the US border, Harris tried to convince migrants to stop flooding into the US in the wake of President Biden’s 2020 election victory. “I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border, do not come. Do not come,” she said.

Biden is scheduled to leave his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware — where he had been recovering from COVID-19 — in the afternoon and arrive at the Executive Mansion by 2:30 p.m., according to his schedule. The 81-year-old president was originally expected to leave the beach town, where he had been under quarantine, on Monday to hit the campaign trail, but he extended his stay after announcing that he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race the day before.

What do coconut trees have to do with Vice President Harris? The tropical fruit-bearing plant has quickly become an informal symbol of support for her presidential campaign, thanks to an anecdote about her mother that she told more than a year ago. President Biden made the history-making decision Sunday to drop his reelection bid and endorsed Harris to take his place against former President Trump on the November ballot. Harris, who sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, has four weeks to shore up her base to secure the party’s nomination during its convention in Chicago in August and fewer than four months to make her case to American voters.

Child predators follow a common playbook: target the victim, gain their trust, fill a need, and, crucially, isolate the child from her parents. For several years, this has also been standard California state protocol with regard to schoolchildren questioning their gender identities. On Monday, this scheme became law. The “SAFETY Act,” AB 1955, signed by California Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, legally forbids schools from adopting any policy that would force them to disclose “any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent.”

Well after 50 years from the end of the Civil War, black Americans in much of the country were not allowed to enter the homes of whites by the front door. Black men could be lynched for looking a white woman in the face. Schools, restaurants and even drinking fountains were all segregated.Today, no such legal discrepancies exist. Yes, fringe actors still show that vestiges of racism remain and maybe always will. Yet even though Americans of all races mingle peaceably, the income gap between white and black Americans stubbornly persists. Racism itself can no longer provide a satisfactory answer.
