‘Trump Will Now Win Big’: Europe Reacts
to Trump Trial

I feel more certain this morning that Trump will be the 47th President, than I did yesterday”, says Brexit leader Nigel Farage, with many European newspapers saying the trial won’t be as advantageous to Democrats as they might earlier have hoped. Europe’s newspapers and commentary sphere is full of reactions to Donald Trump’s business records trial in Manhattan finding him guilty on all 34 counts on Thursday night. While the probity of the cases is up for debate, many seem to agree the case will be of limited utility to the Democrats, with Trump supporters doubling down and opponents already voting against, no what.

First of all, Breitbart needs an editor. And secondly. FTA: Former top Eurocrat and two-time Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote this morning: “The law determines guilt and punishment, regardless of whether the perpetrator is a president or a minister. Polish politicians must memorize this American lesson. All.” The Third Reich in Nazi Germany was very careful to craft the laws they needed to accomplish their work. They knew how useful it was to have “the law” to back them up on the world stage. Everything they did was codified into law, in order for politicians like this Eurocrat to wear the sanctimonious robe of “justice.”

Le Figaro compared it to the Salem Witch Trials and that sounds right. Someone else yesterday was comparing it to the jailing of Eugene Debs. How can anyone think it is a sign of patriotism to agree with every court every time, never to highlight overreach or unconstitutional behavior from the bench? The Debs case is extra interesting bc the government apparently had agents in a crowd looking for opportunities to use the Sedition Act.

President Trump and Elon Musk Collaborating Again? 2 replies

I’m just going to throw out a bunch of factual datapoints that seemingly mean something, but the larger ‘intent’ picture is still opaque. Many readers may not be familiar with the connective tissue between the names, so I’ll just cut to the chase. According to media reports, Pershing Square Capital Management founder Bill Ackman is preparing to back Donald Trump in the 2024 election {LINK}. Bill Ackman is the Wall Street money guy backstopping Elon Musk, and Ackman created the financial vehicle to take the X-Platform back to the public market (unused mechanism).
Iran's former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates  — Iran’s hard-line former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad registered Sunday as a possible candidate for the presidential election, seeking to regain the country’s top political position after a helicopter crash killed the nation’s president. The populist former leader’s registration puts pressure on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In office, Ahmadinejad openly challenged the 85-year-old cleric, and his attempt to run in 2021 was barred by authorities. The firebrand, Holocaust-questioning politician’s return comes at a time of heightened tensions between Iran and the West over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program, its arming of Russia in its war on Ukraine and its wide-reaching crackdowns on dissent.

As alleged in an indictment unsealed today, from 2020 to 2022, Robert Burke, 62, of Coconut Creek, Florida, was a four-star Admiral who oversaw Naval operations in Europe, Russia, and most of Africa, and commanded thousands of civilian and military personnel. Yongchul “Charlie” Kim and Meghan Messenger, both of New York, are the co-CEOs of a company (Company A) that provided a workforce training pilot program to a small component of the Navy from August 2018 through July 2019. The Navy terminated a contract with Company A in late 2019 and directed Company A not to contact Burke.

Since President Joe Biden assumed office in 2021, Iran has attacked US troops in the Middle East more than 170 times, apparently to drive US troops out of the region, to be able to continue "exporting the Revolution" unhindered. At present, Iran controls, in addition to its own country, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, the Gaza Strip, and appears to be eyeing Jordan and Sudan. Ever since the presidency of Barack Obama, much US policy, no matter how decisively all evidence appears to point the other way, seems to entertain the fantasy of "bringing Iran in from the cold"

After years of trying — in the words of the judge — “to get the damned rascal in this court,” it was a conviction that many welcomed. But those words were not from Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, and the conviction was not that of former President Donald Trump. Rather they were from US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase, at the end of the 18th century, when America embraced political prosecutions to target critics and opponents. The man on trial then was James T. Callender, a muckraking writer critical of President John Adams. For accusing politicians of corruption, Callender was charged with sedition, fined $200 and put in prison.

A string of security, logistical and weather problems has battered the plan to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid to Gaza through a U.S. military-built pier. Broken apart by strong winds and heavy seas just over a week after it became operational, the project faces criticism that it hasn’t lived up to its initial billing or its $320 million price tag. U.S. officials say, however, that the steel causeway connected to the beach in Gaza and the floating pier are being repaired and reassembled at a port in southern Israel, then will be reinstalled and working again next week.

There were seemingly only a few dozen people who attended the speech; but wow was the Joe Biden event divisive. Also, watch how many times Joe Biden is going back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly, then South Carolina, then back to Philly, then South Carolina, that’s the pattern. BLM then AME, then back to BLM, then back to AME. This is the 7th time Biden has gone to an organized event in Philly (it’s not about campaigning). The Biden campaign organized what the media are calling a “black outreach” event; however, the remarks and speech was one of the most divisive,

Intoxicated by an antisemitic orgy of hate for which it has become a world leader outside of the usual suspects in the Arab and Islamic world, the South African government has been leading the charge of criminal action against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). On Friday, the ICJ issued a one-sided unjust ruling that Israel must end its military operation in Gaze to free the hostages and destroy them. In a world where despite its just cause Israel stands more and more alone, with the list of allies if not actual friends growing shorter and shorter, this is not surprising even if it is shocking.

The New Jersey shore town Wildwood closed its popular boardwalk for a few hours early Sunday morning after hordes of “unruly, undisciplined” teens descended on the walkway, local officials said. Police shut down the boardwalk to the public just past midnight after receiving an “irrepressible number” of complaints about an “extremely large number of young adults & juveniles” visiting the boardwalk for Memorial Day Weekend, according to a statement from authorities. City officials did not cite a specific incident that led them to shut down the boardwalk, but claimed that cops were addressing “civil unrest.”

With the closing arguments set for Tuesday in the trial of former president Donald Trump, defense counsel are in a rather curious position. There is still debate among legal experts as to the specific crime that District Attorney Alvin Bragg is alleging. Trump’s lawyers are defending a former president who is charged under a state misdemeanor which died years ago under the statute of limitations. It was then zapped back into life in the form of roughly three dozen felonies by claiming that bookkeeping violations — allegedly hiding payments to Stormy Daniels to ensure her silence about a supposed affair with Trump — were committed to hide another crime.

Former President Donald Trump may be banned from the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries should his felony conviction hold up. Last week, a 12-person jury in Manhattan found the former president guilty on 34 counts for falsifying records to pay off porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election. The former president will likely appeal his conviction, which may or may not be overturned before the November election. Should the former president win the election before the conviction could be overturned, certain countries would have to make an exception if he were to visit on official business. If you do any amount of movie or TV series streaming via Netflix, Prime or other channels, you may have noticed a truly annoying trend of loud, inappropriate songs in the background of what you’re watching. The singers are almost always bad and the lyrics almost always totally wrong for the content of the movie or series you're watching. I was watching a murder-mystery thriller movie on Prime and suddenly a soundtracker bursts into loud, raucous songs about something utterly unrelated to the plot. I have noticed this trend mostly in the last five years but lately, it has been enough to make me hit the mute button.
