The Theory of Global Warming Versus the
Rhymes of Dr. Seuss

“How big is the sun? We just heard right this minute a million of our earths could all fit right in it.” Those words can be found in Dr. Seuss children’s book There’s No Place Like Space: All About Our Solar System. About what you’re about to read, it won’t be a statistical or scientific argument supporting or disdaining the theory that is global warming. No such skills exist to make either, but even if they did exist, the view here is that statistical arguments about anything involving personal freedom are loser arguments. Think back to the spring of 2020 and the coronavirus to see why.

Americans can be forgiven for suffering from whiplash regarding law and order. In recent weeks the Biden administration and many news outlets, including USA Today and The Hill, have touted declines in violent crime statistics to argue that America is becoming a safer place. “Right now, with 2023 figures and early 2024, the trends are all pointing down, in a positive direction,” Jeff Asher, whose New Orleans-based AH Datalytics is developing his own “Real-Time Crime Index,” told RealClearInvestigations. Conservative outlets, including City Journal and the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, assert that minor declines in headline grabbers like homicides fail to capture what is really happening

None of the five civil and criminal cases currently lodged against former President Donald Trump have ever had merit. They were all predicated on using the law to injure his re-election candidacy—given a widespread derangement syndrome among the left and a fear they cannot entrust a Trump/Biden election to the people. These criminal and civil trials are merely the continuation of extra-legal efforts of the last eight years to destroy a presidential candidate in lieu of opposing him in transparent elections.
Biden’s Punitive, Anti-Growth Tax Proposals 5 replies

President Biden’s 2025 budget proposal provides a salient reminder that he is no moderate, despite his attempts to position himself as one. Biden’s tax proposals would effectively increase the top federal marginal tax rate on long-term capital gains to 44.6%, a record high since the tax was enacted in the 1920s. As a result, taxes paid on long-term capital gains would reach levels above 50% in some states after accounting for state capital gains taxes. Biden also proposed increasing the corporate income tax rate from 21% to 28% and presented a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for individuals whose net worth exceeds $100 million. These proposals present two problems.

President Joe Biden has given far fewer interviews to major news organizations than any of his predecessors, and his appalling performance on CNN this week shows why. In just 15 minutes, the president proved himself completely ignorant about recent economic history and totally out of touch with the reality people face. Asked by Erin Burnett if he can convince voters to trust him more on the economy than Donald Trump, Biden began by denying the premise of the question. “The polling data has been wrong all along,” he claimed. “How many — you guys do a poll at CNN. How many folks you have to call to get one response?”

Even for those of us who have long been critics of the “hush money” case against Donald Trump and its dubious legal theory, it has been surprising to see that the prosecutors had no more evidence than we previously knew about. The assumption was that no rational prosecutor would base a major criminal case almost entirely on the testimony of Michael Cohen, who was recently denounced by a judge as a serial perjurer peddling “perverse” theories in court. The calculus of Alvin Bragg is now obvious. He is counting on the jury convicting Trump regardless of the evidence.

Antisemitism Awareness Act Is the Antidote
to DEI

Last week, something all too rare occurred: The House of Representatives passed excellent legislation with a broad bipartisan majority. The Antisemitism Awareness Act, which Republicans backed 187-21 and Democrats 133-70, does far more than provide a critical tool in the fight against surging antisemitism. It’s a model of excellence in the fight against DEI and ESG, wokeism in general, the overreaching administrative state, and the erosion of free speech rights. That’s why it’s surprising and disappointing to see opposition arising not only from antisemites – from whom it was expected – but from politicians, scholars, and pundits who normally side with freedom. Many of their critiques rail against a straw man:

President Biden has always insisted he had nothing to do with the Justice Department’s move against ex-prez Donald Trump for his alleged theft of classified documents — but new information gathered by RealClearInvestigations suggests that (as so often with Biden) this is likely a lie. “I don’t want to get myself in the middle of whether or not the Justice Department should move or not move on certain actions they could take. I agreed I would not tell them what to do and not, in fact, engage in telling them how to prosecute or not,” were Biden’s precise words to lapdog journo Scott Pelley in September. A set of newly

After President Biden gave his ultimatum of withholding offensive weapons to the Jewish state if Israel were to launch an invasion of Rafah, rocket attacks rained down on Israel on Friday from Rafah, with more rockets fired on Saturday. Hamas launched rockets from Rafah at the southern Israeli city of Beersheva on Friday for the first time since December, as Iranian proxy Hezbollah sent a barrage of rockets into the northern Israel city of Kiryat Shmona, causing a massive fire. Within the Gaza Strip on Friday, four Israeli soldiers were killed. "When administration officials attacked or berated Israel publicly previously during the war, Hamas hardened its demands

Many Republicans will be shocked to learn that Election Day 2024 happens long before Nov. 5. In fact, it hurts the Republican cause – and the elections of President Donald Trump and House and Senate Republicans – to focus narrowly on Nov. 5. The first election dates are Sept. 16 in Pennsylvania and then Sept. 20 in Minnesota and South Dakota. The next election days are Sept. 23 in Mississippi, and Sept. 24 in Missouri. There are 43 other states and the District of Columbia that follow with their early voting dates. Only Alabama and New Hampshire do not have early voting.

It is a presidential election year and a leading candidate for president of the United States, who also happens to be a former president of the United States, is currently a criminal defendant chained to a dingy courtroom four days of the week -- time that he should be spending interacting with voters out on the campaign trail. That's terrible. But it's only the beginning. The daughter of the presiding judge is a professional political operative for the presidential candidate's opposition party, and the candidate himself is subject to an over-inclusive and unconstitutional gag order. The George Soros-funded district attorney, who campaigned on a platform of prosecuting that candidate

Nearly two years after Nina Jankowicz briefly led the Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security, she’s launched an organization demanding transparency and the public release of documents about the public debate on disinformation. An interesting move, likely without true transparency in mind. My organization, Americans for Prosperity Foundation, has spent the same two years fighting DHS for documents on the federal board Jankowicz managed. We’re filing a second lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act to fight continued government stonewalling of our requests. Thus far, DHS has refused to provide unredacted versions of documents that outline its purported authorities to regulate disinformation.

If you are the parent of young children, are you OK with your kids hearing former President Donald Trump’s language and putdowns, like the ones at his rally last Saturday in Wildwood, New Jersey? One can hear a kid justifying his or her own swearing: “If Trump can talk like that, why can’t I?” Is this the way we want our children to be raised? They will learn swear words soon enough (and hopefully control their use of them or eschew them altogether).

The Bible calls the Jews “a stiff-necked” people. (“The Lord also said to me, ‘I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.’” Deuteronomy 9:13.) In other words, they’re stubborn, and nothing has been more stubborn than American Jews’ long-standing refusal to acknowledge the rising antisemitism in the heart of the Democrat party. Donald Trump’s pro-Israel record barely swayed them. However, Biden’s blatant anti-Israel policies, combined with the violent antisemitism in academia, may finally be doing the trick. Traditionally, Jews have been second only to blacks in their fealty to the Democrat party. Many of them came from Tsarist Russia, which was fiercely antisemitic.

Gen Z is struggling financially with low income and higher debt-to-income ratios than Millennials did when they were their age, according to a recent study. A study from TransUnion, a consumer credit reporting agency, which surveyed 614 Gen Z adults currently between the ages of 22-24, and 623 Millennials who had been between the ages of 22-24 ten years ago, found that Gen Z adults were facing a tougher situation financially that Millennials did years ago.The study found that Millennials during the last half of 2013, or Quarter 4 (Q4) were making an income of around $39,394, adjusted for inflation. When adjusted for inflation,

More than half of the foreign-born immigrant population in the United States under President Joe Biden’s administration is unemployed, according to a recent report. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report on Monday that showed that just 46 percent of migrants who had arrived in the U.S. “in 2022 or later” were employed as of the beginning of 2024. “Immigration clearly adds workers to the country, but it just as clearly adds non-workers who need to be supported by the labor of others,” Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, researchers with the CIS, wrote.

The hypocritical lunatics at the far-left Washington Post are demanding we do something they never would — take cold showers to save Mother Earth. No way would they demand we take cold showers, I foolishly assumed. That would be a ridiculous request, a bridge too far, a way to get laughed off the planet. Brother, was I wrong. A Mercer County man who was in the U.S. Marine Corps until last week has been charged with making threatening statements about killing white people in a shooting rampage, federal authorities announced Monday. Joshua Cobb, 23, of Hamilton, mentioned two possible attack locations, a Jersey Strong gym and an Aldi grocery store in Robbinsville, and said he had access to guns and the will to kill a lot of people, authorities allege. Cobb also fantasized about the adrenaline rush and high he’d feel during such a shooting. “I’d probably OD on my own adrenaline after the 10th body goes down,” he allegedly wrote on social media in March of last year.

He was arrested after a SWAT raid in 2022, and a jury convicted him of 13 counts last month. Now, he is set to spend up to ten years behind bars for what many perceive as an egregious violation of his Second Amendment rights. The sentence was handed down on Monday by Judge Abena Darkeh, who presided over Taylor’s trial. The judge’s handling of the case has been criticized, especially her decision to prohibit mention of the Second Amendment in the courtroom during the trial.
