Over the past few years the term "Deaths of Despair" has become all too common.
It's not a new term; after the fall of the Soviet Union, the already poor state of Russians' health deteriorated and lifespans declined. The same effect has been seen in places where social cohesion and support structures deteriorated for some reason or another.
And, not that many people know it, it was known in public health circles (before they conveniently forgot) that excessive "Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions" (NPIs) to address a public health crisis caused serious health problems that often were worse than the disease.

EVERYONE who had a hand in this should be shunned forever. From the lowest mask Karen to the highest government official.
But, that isn't going to happen. Sad.

Mental health was more sensitive to lockdowns than to the presence of the pandemic itself.

And they need a study to tell us what we all already knew.
Lost a cousin to the lockdown. He put a shotgun in his mouth. He was a recovering alcoholic and lost all his support structure. He lost his work and he started drinking again and well, that was that. So many people have stories like our family's story. You just can't cut people off and leave them feeling abandoned, helpless, and alone. We need human contact to stay mentally healthy.

Leftist governance has been a total disaster. The left destroyed millions last century, and have continued their work this century.

CV19 was bought and paid for. The vaccine was more deadly. The shut down was hyperbolic, and designed to allow outrageous, and mostly unconstitutional changes to election laws and procedures; to steal the election. But it worked, didn't it? Wonder what they'll pull this go round. Invasion form Mars?

One would have thought that the Event 201 pandemic rehearsal might have shown the participants the dangers we are now realizing from THEIR plan, but no.
They were merely concentrating on establishing world domination, not a world with survivors in recovery. That tells you where these monsters are coming from, doesn't it?

My adult son died during this time. Troubled by some personal tragedies, he committed what the doctor referred to as passive suicide. I hold Fauci and the democrats responsible. It was all for the purpose of mail in ballots.

I always had a slight tendency toward agoraphobia. I know the lockdown made it worse.

I was a mask resister. I once walked into an office building and one woman actually threw herself into a hallway wall to avoid me walking. In stores I often got aisles to myself because they would clear out when I started down them. And all over a strip of cocktail napkin over the face. I got a silent kinship with other resisters, which was nice.
The obedient may have had problems, but we troublemakers were having a blast resisting tyranny and being alive.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together could have figured out lockdowns were a complete sham. There were so many arbitrary rules in place, many of which were total nonsense. Who can forget Gov. Whitmer banning the sale of seeds? Why were some activities perfectly fine ~ mobs of hundreds burning cities and looting businesses ~ while people who wanted to attend their church services were prohibited from doing so.
It seemed that activities that were profane or morally suspect were applauded and condoned.
Don't get me started on what was done to the school kids. There was no valid reason why schools had to be closed; however....if it weren't for the lockdowns parents would never have discovered what their children were being taught. At least that's one silver lining.

Fortunately, we totally ignored the "lockdowns" did exactly NOTHING different than our normal routines, other than for six weeks the restaurants were closed, so we didn't eat out then.
As soon as they re-opened, we started going out to eat several times a week, and IGNORING their damned mask rules entirely.
Just DON'T comply with their insane rules. They really WON'T enforce them.

They also destroyed the education of a generation of students. Since generations now have to be labeled I suppose this one could be named the not-so-bright generation. One can wonder if we will ever recover and become the leaders of the world?

There's a simpler, though less scientific, test you can conduct easily. Whenever you relate some hardship or deprivation experienced "during COVID" or "during the pandemic," substitute "during the lockdown." If the meaning is unchanged - and chances are it will be - the lockdown was responsible.
