Residents of Virginia Beach, one of the few areas in Virginia to choose Joe Biden for president in 2020, are upset over the construction of wind turbines.
Complaints range from noise and vibrations caused by the 24/7 construction project to the destruction of ocean views and possible negative effects on marine life. On Wednesday, Virginia Beach residents met with Dominion Energy, the company installing 178 wind turbines 900 feet high across 15 miles of ocean. The local news outlet News 3 reported that after the meeting, residents still “have concerns regarding the construction noise, environmental damage, and ocean views.”
The complaints came down to…
Construction noise, which is 24/7

Say it with me Boys and Girls: “Elections have consequences.”
Are people really this stupid? Or so ideologically driven that they’re blind as bats? (Which, you could make the case, IS stupid.)

The liberals treat green energy like they treat illegal immigration. They are for it, as long as they are not impacted by it.

Just one more reason to despise Democrats!

Liberals have ruined our scenic views and trashed our beautiful cities like San Francisco and New York.
They want to take our freedom of speech, our gas stoves and heat, our dependable gas vehicles....
We must stand up and stop it, and reverse what they have already done!

Prediction: if built, within 10 years none will be spinning. They'll be rusting hulks, eyesores and monuments to the Green movement.

You would think with a heavy active duty and retired military presence that the residents would've voted for the guy who supported them and wouldn't turn what they stand for into a social experiment. I know since I lived there nearly 2 decades ago. They should've known that democrat presidents as a rule don't give a you know what about the military. Name me one who did. So sorry VA Beach peoples you are now reaping what you've sown. Enjoy.

We drove back to KC from central Colorado about a week ago. It was a very windy day, probably 25 mph steady, gusting higher. ALL the damned windmills were shut down. They can't run in any kind of even moderately high winds, and they don't make much power below their design speed.
WIndmills have a very narrow range of wind speeds that they can use because the power in the wind is a cube function of wind speed. High winds quickly will overload the turbines.
And they are eyesores and create low frequency repetative sounds "whomp-whomp-whomp" all the time they are running. They will drive you nuts from a mile or two away.
Did I mention that they ruin the view and are ugly?

Be patient, Virginians. Despite your voting mistakes, the next good hurricane to travel up the East Coast will solve your problem for you. Normal weather conditions regularly cause those ugly monstronsities to fall into disrepair but a good hurricane? Watch out for the flying debris.

Re #12, yes, but if they are wrecked by a storm.....the taxpayers who didn't want them built will have to pay to clean up the mess.
