What Happens If Trump Can't Make Bond

Yesterday we learned the shocking news from Donald Trump's legal team that he has thus far been unable to raise the ludicrous sum of $454 million to post a bond in his civil "fraud" trial in New York City. Under the terms of the latest round of lawfare being waged against him by partisan NY Attorney General Letitia James, Trump is supposed to put up the bond in cash and can not use the value of his properties to cover the requirement while he appeals the ruling. Trump's team reportedly approached multiple financial firms, but none were willing to put up the cash against the value of

Some posters at another conservative website indicate that they have read Letitia James could start seizing President Trump’s property on Monday and, allegedly, intends to “first seize his jet to prevent him from traveling to campaign rallies and elsewhere.” Another comment was that such action might prompt President Trump to force the Supreme Court to intervene. Is it possible that the Supreme Court could issue a “cease and desist” order to halt seizure of President Trump’s assets until after all his legal appeals have been made? Although it seems hopeless, if appeals would overrule the current court’s decision and President Trump’s properties/assets have been seized and disposed of, what would that mean for President Trump and his family?

Re #5. Here is the text of the 8th Amendment: "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." Trump has BOTH an excessive fine and excessive bail" or actually the bond necessary to "permit" him his constitutional right to appeal the EXCESSIVE FINE. This should go directly to the Supreme Court, 8th Amendment grounds.

This excessive bond issue is such a farce-- How does this punitive action go against the long standard process of posting bond?? Can Lettitia James really FORCE the sale of his assets if this ridiculous 'requirement' is allowed to stand? At some point, blocking Mr. Trump's right to due process to appeal is being denied by this absurd standard of attempting to destroy a person based on politics alone.

While I don't want to see Trump suffer the loss of having some of his property seized, I would like to see New York suffer the losses which would occur as soon as they started seizing some of his properties in New York. I will note that state courts in states other than New York should prevent New York from seizing Trump assets in their states until they prove that the value of his assets in New York will not satisfy the judgement (and that would be the value at the time they begin the process to seize them).

Assuming that New York seizes Trump's property to satisfy their judgement, whose valuations will they use to establish the value of each property for seizure purposes? Will they use the AG & Judge's unrealistic low valuations (Mar A Lago $18 million) or the true market values? I can just picture Letitia James salivating now over these properties and how she can maximize her damage to Donald Trump taking the most property for the lowest prices leaving him with nothing.

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted 74-24 early Saturday morning to pass a sweeping $1.2 trillion government funding bill after heated last-minute negotiations caused senators to breach the midnight deadline to avert a shutdown. But the funding lapse was brief and technical, having no meaningful impact as the White House said it has "ceased shutdown preparations" due to a Senate agreement, which came after Republicans demanded votes on a series of amendments. The legislation, which passed the House on Friday morning by a vote of 268-134, now goes to President Joe Biden, who has said he'll sign it into law. It completes a turbulent government funding process during the divided government,
