During an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, White House National Economic Council Deputy Director Daniel Hornung stated that “our progress on inflation does continue,” but “we’ve expected some seasonality in January and February. We didn’t expect the progress to continue on a straight line.”
Hornung said, [relevant remarks begin around 3:30] “I won’t comment on monetary policy and the Federal Reserve. I think what I can say, if you take a step back, our progress on inflation does continue, down from a peak of 9% to the 3% range. Always, I think, we’ve expected some seasonality in January and February. We didn’t expect the progress to continue on a straight line.

It takes a serious mental illness to day after day try to convince people that what they are seeing and experiencing isn't really happening. I think this is called gaslighting in pop psychology.
Looks like the term is quickly replacing "narcissist" in stylish circles.

"Seasonality".
I think I'll pay my taxes with "seasonality".
Hope I'll have enough left over for bail...

Excuses excuses. First, inflation was transitory. Now it is seasonal. What's the next excuse? Weather related, election fear related? Democrats are pretty creative with their excuse s and lies.

Don't believe your eyes when you pay your insurance, gas, taxes and grocery bill. Trust the government stats, they don't lie.

Then there will be the "post seasonal" adjustments that come out 3 months later.

Transitory. Seasonality. This administration is the worst in the history of this rapidly declining country. All is going according to BHO plan.

3% my eye. Look at gasoline alone. Oh, that's right, they don't include gas and food in their statistics.

Gasoline has gone up 26 cents a gallon. Our cable/Internet bill increased by $20 a month. Food costs more than 20% more. The company that supplies our natural gas to heat our home and water has asked for a huge rate increase. We are struggling middle class in my household. People see with their own eyes that everything costs more and prices continue to increase.

All B.S. Your typical communist democrat who can't tell the truth if his family depended on it. They lie to the American people while they are stealing billions of taxpayer money. Every program the initiate is nothing more than a new money laundering scam. With money now going to Haiti, it will be the second time they have used that country to launder money. Ask the Clintons where the money went and you'll get a blank stare. Wake up.

The only progress against inflation is the result of doctoring the figures. Deficits are up, government payrolls have skyrocketed. The only progress is in suppressing the private sector, and not much there due to government corporate fascism.

You would have to be an idiot to believe most anything that comes out of the so-called Biden White House these days, especially during the political funny time leading up to the November election.

It's a seasonal thing. We call the new season "inflation season". There, problem gone. Besides, dog ate our homework. What?

Calling BS on FJB. I suggest you go to a grocery on a Friday evening when women are in the store trying to purchase the items they need to feed their family for the next two weeks. And have enough $ left over to pay bills, maybe save a little bit. You need an ear full of reality.

Seasonality, shmeesonality: isn't every month, and it's place in the financial calendar, intrinsically and inseparably "seasonal?"
I thought Yellen was being paid big $$ to anticipate all that...
