“Have you ever driven in the snow before,” I asked Vivek Ramaswamy’s deputy comms director as we half fish-tailed in the rental as we exited the road.(Snip) Voters know the feeling well. Politicians sell you a product, you vote for them, and they betray you. This happened recently in Italy, in spades. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni ran on an Italy First platform. You can’t call Giorgia Meloni anything but a fraud and traitor. Is Vivek more of the same? You can’t know. (Snip) Vivek might be the most impressive human I’ve met in politics or media. He is operating at a superhuman level of intelligence and he is genuinely #AmericaFirst.

This might be obsolete after Iowa, but I think Vivek will be around for a while in one way or another. Cernovich has some very good observations in in his favor.

I was a Ramaswamy supporter. I knew that he wouldn't beat Trump, but I hoped that he would at least beat Haley. I got so tired of debunking the wild rumors about him. I could always tell the people who just believed what they heard about him and never really listened to him. Some were turned off by his skin color, his name, his intelligence. If Trump is smart he will find a place for him in his administration.

If he gets an assignment in Trump's organization, he can prove himself. He sounds great, says things that need to be said. And I agree that he sounds intelligent, which is a property that very few in politics have. Senators, by and large, are dimwits - pretty much across the board. The number of Senators with a real brain, perhaps 25 or 1/4 of the Senate. I hope he gets a chance to participate in the Trump administration and prove himself. At this point, we've bought too many 'pigs in pokes' over the years to trust someone without any history of political achievement to show what they actually will do with some power.

Ramaswamy, to me, is just a little too perfect. He has an excellent memory, good speaking skills, and always just the right answer, regardless of the question(s) young, vibrant and has all the answers people want to hear ! Sound familiar ? He reminds me far too much of another 'candidate' that came out of NOWHERE, with many of the same traits ! To me, he is Obama 2.0 !!! There are just too many similarities !

Vivek's intelligence and talent will perhaps be better applied to a field other than politics. As for comparing to 0bama, the difference in their intelligence is so great that they might as well be different species. Secondly, Vivek is a Hindu. 0bama is Muslim. Makes a big difference.

The Vivek phenomenon has been...bizarre. And more than a bit suspicious. It is not to the credit of media, conservative pundits et al that some bloke can rock up and say 'I'm running for president' and immediately receive shedloads of coverage, publicity, interviews etc etc. Are they bored? Are they cynical? Are they that desperate for an alternative to Trump, even if they've supported Trump? Would you or I be able to grab a mic and make such a declaration and be elevated to national prominence whether we had $1 or $1 billion to our name? The Rise of Vivek is more evidence - not the good kind - of The Imperial Presidency ie far too much power concentrated in the executive branch and specifically in the chief executive. Toadies, rent-seekers, mouthpieces all want to curry (pun intended) favor with those who might one day hold office and/or influence. Perhaps the only positive aspect from view is that he regularly gave the swamp media a tongue-lashing but communists committed to the cause aren't exactly known for their spine or morale. They are cogs in a machine at places like The Washed Up Post. If he becomes Trump's designated flame-thrower so be it. Trump may be exhibiting his usual spirit but he also knows the lay of the land vis-a-vis the general election and the so-called swing vote. With Biden's support slipping among minorities there is a huge opportunity not only in 2024 but going forward and Trump probably sees it.

Vegetarian is a Hindu thing. People should respect that, and not criticize Vivek for following his family religion, because we all do that. Catholics aren't allowed to divorce/remarry and Hindus aren't allowed to eat meat and Baptists aren't allowed to drink beer and Jews don't do ham or shellfish. We all have our things. Hindus are our great allies in the war on terror.

"A natural born citizen refers to someone who was a U.S. citizen at birth, and did not need to go through a naturalization proceeding later in life. Under the 14th Amendment's Naturalization Clause and the Supreme Court case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 US. 649, anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship. Here is the TRUTH about "Natural Born Citizen" according to the Founder's intent and the few previous Supreme Court decisions that peripherally dealt with it, rather than the revisionist modern leftist law school attempts to legitimize first generation 14th Amendment citizens: You pretty much need to read the whole website to fully understand the "Natural Born Citizen" argument. Most people who even bother to go there only read until they find something that they THINK confirms their preconceived notions.

And here is Thomas Jefferson's thoughts on why Natural Born Citizen means that you have to be born of parents who were also born in the United States.: Civil government being the sole object of forming societies, its administration must be conducted by common consent. Every species of government has its specific principles. Ours perhaps are more peculiar than those of any other in the universe. It is a composition of the freest principles of the English constitution, with others derived from natural right and natural reason. To these nothing can be more opposed than the maxims of absolute monarchies. Yet, from such, we are to expect the greatest number of emigrants. They will bring with them the principles of the governments they leave, imbibed in their early youth; or, if able to throw them off, it will be in exchange for an unbounded licentiousness, passing, as is usual, from one extreme to another. It would be a miracle were they to stop precisely at the point of temperate liberty. These principles, with their language, they will transmit to their children. In proportion to their numbers, they will share with us the legislation. They will infuse into it their spirit, warp and bias its direction, and render it a heterogeneous, incoherent, distracted mass. I may appeal to experience, during the present contest, for a verification of these conjectures. But, if they be not certain in event, are they not possible, are they not probable? Is it not safer to wait with patience 27 years and three months longer, for the attainment of any degree of population desired, or expected? May not our government be more homogeneous, more peaceable, more durable? Suppose 20 millions of republican Americans thrown all of a sudden into France, what would be the condition of that kingdom? If it would be more turbulent, less happy, less strong, we may believe that the addition of half a million of foreigners to our present numbers would produce a similar effect here. If they come of themselves, they are entitled to all the rights of citizenship: but I doubt the expediency of inviting them by extraordinary encouragements. I mean not that these doubts should be extended to the importation of useful artificers. The policy of that measure depends on very different considerations. Spare no expence in obtaining them. They will after a while go to the plough and the hoe; but, in the mean time, they will teach us something we do not know.

After 12 years of wandering in the wilderness of the D.C. court system, Michael Mann’s defamation case against Mark Steyn and Rand Simberg has finally gone to trial. Opening statements were delivered today. (Snip) The case, as you likely recall, arises out of an internet post written by Simberg, which Steyn quoted and added a few comments to. The two posts drew a parallel between Jerry Sandusky, the disgraced Penn State’s administration in what amounted to a cover-up. Steyn described Mann’s famous hockey stick temperature chart–accurately–as fraudulent. Mark fired his lawyer some time ago and elected to try his case pro se.

Good grief — it’s been over three months, and writers are still expressing shock, surprise, and outrage that Muslims murdered, mutilated, raped, and tortured Jews on 10/7. (Snip) Because it will happen again, I suggest the following to prevent future shock, surprise, and outrage. First, recognize the cause of 10/7. Although it is comforting to believe that Hamas, a specific group in a relatively small area, was the cause of 10/7, this is incorrect. The snarky among you will quickly respond that Hezb’allah and Iran were also responsible. This is also incorrect. The correct answer is that Islam was the cause of 10/7.

Now that Claudine Gay is out as Harvard's president on evidence that she plagiarized research and failed to counter antisemitism on campus, Harvard's elites are steaming with fury. They had, after all, signed a letter urging that the university keep her and her wokester policies on board. But that wasn't the worst of it. The biggest indignity was in the knowledge of who took her down: Not a top Harvard scholar but a lowly Harvard night school student with the equivalent of a master's degree named Christopher Rufo, writing on his humble Substack. Claudine Gay ended her tenure Tuesday as the shortest president in the history of Harvard University, yet her resignation statement didn’t acknowledge the scandals that led to her ouster—instead suggesting that racism was to blame. The incident arguably illustrates the effectiveness of conservative critics in drawing attention to Gay’s many scandals, and the fecklessness of a university so rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion that it refuses to acknowledge the ideological roots of the scandal. Gay, who became Harvard’s president in September 2023, testified about antisemitism on campus at a Dec. 5 hearing in the House of Representatives.

Netanyahu reportedly rejected the idea. NBC News reported Wednesday that Blinken, and Biden, are therefore trying to work around Netanyahu — the democratically-elected leader of Israel — in a departure from the Biden administration’s posture as the supposed defender of democratic ideals: Blinken told Netanyahu that ultimately there is no military solution to Hamas, according to the officials, and that the Israeli leader needs to recognize that or history will repeat itself and violence will continue.
