There was a bomb threat at the home of New York Judge Arthur Engoron hours before closing arguments in the Trump civil fraud trial were set to begin Thursday.
"We're aware there was a bomb threat against Justice Engoron, said Al Baker, a spokesperson for the court administration.
The Nassau County, New York, police department and bomb squad responded, a person familiar with the matter said.
"We've had layers of security protocols in place since the onset of the proceedings. They will continue," the spokesman said. He added extra layers of security have been added for Engoron's safety.

Over the last several years, the U.S. Military has struggled to meet recruitment goals across all branches, perhaps most of all with the Army.
One of the reasons for this has now been explained. White men are no longer enlisting in the numbers they did in the past.
Families which used to encourage young men to enlist are doing so in far fewer numbers for reasons which are obvious to many. New woke policies, the vaccine mandates and the embrace of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies mean white recruits are looked over for advancement in the US Military today. Former President Donald Trump got to command a stage all to himself at a prime time Fox News town hall in Iowa, where he was cheered by Iowa supporters but was still forced to state flat out that he was not 'going to be a dictator.'
Trump made the comment when co-host Bret Baier asked him about his recent that there would be 'bedlam' in the country if his criminal prosecutions continue.
That brought a long explanation from Trump about his comments to fellow Fox host Sean Hannity. Trump had told Hannity he woudl be a 'dictator for one day,' in comments that drew backlash.
President Trump, during his town hall on FOX News, shared that he has already decided who he will pick for his next Vice President.
The topic was brought up when FOX News’s Town Hall moderator Martha MacCallum asked Trump, “If you are the nominee, who would be in the running for Vice President?”
Trump responded, “I can’t tell you that, really.”
The 45th President continued “I know who it’s gonna be. We’ll do another show sometime.” It’s pretty clear it won’t be spineless turncoat Mike Pence.
