The seasons may have shifted but the scene is much the same on the streets of Philadelphia.
On Kensington Avenue this week, the desperation is palpable on a road described as 'the street of lost souls and forgotten dreams.'
Drug addicts and prostitutes take shelter under elevated train tracks that run three miles into the far northeast of the city, in a run-down neighborhood that has become a portrait of America at its darkest. Disturbing photos reveal the city's drugs crisis, with homeless people shooting up in broad daylight over the holidays.
Kensington, 'ground zero' for the city's drug epidemic, is strewn with trash and addicts injecting drugs

Take a poll to see if they are better off than they were four years ago.

The easy answer is to stop responding to overdoses.
Fentanyl is a suicidal drug. It might not get you the first time but sooner or later you will die.
With the Police cut back to where they cannot enforce the law and a legal system that does not want it enforced, what else can be done.

We lost the war on drugs long ago. There will always be a seller and a buyer. I don't have the answer. I don't think there is one.

Singapore doesn’t have this problem, they have a solution. Death penalty for drug dealers. No exceptions.

Oh Yes, there is an answer, but no one has the guts to use it.
Close the border Close it tight.
Bomb the poppy fields, bomb the sources, the production plants.
Governments know where they are, just like they know where the missile are located in other countries.
If you want to have a war on drugs , make it a war. Destroy the sources, kill the producers and the cartels.
It's all about money.

I first saw one of these videos a couple years ago. I see nothing has been done to fix the problem. I cant even imagine trying to run a legitimate business there.

Ironically, Philadelphia is the center of corruption that drags the entire state of Pennsylvania over to the blue side in every major election. Having fewer people alive over there may seem like a positive outlook but all they have to do is replace them with the graveyard population. It's not a math error when 110% of them vote democrat.

Good plan, #7, but when the drug trade totally supports the government of the country as is the case in Mexico, much of South America and Pakistan, there will be resistance to the plan. The drug trade in America has doubled the budget of every police department in every major city so the incentive to stop the drug trade is weak, even here.

This seems like somewhat of a self limiting problem. They take these drugs until they kill them, and then....
It would seem that anti-drug education is urgently needed. I cannot imagine taking some street drugs, it absolutely doesn't even make the slightest sense. How is it that people think that this is going to have any sort of a good outcome, EVER?
