Former senior White House adviser for Barack Obama, David Axelrod floated the idea on Sunday of President Joe Biden dropping out of 2024 race after a new poll showed him trailing Donald Trump in several states. A New York Times & Siena College poll released on Sunday showed Trump leading Biden in five out of the six battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania by leads of 3 to 10 points. The only battleground state in which Biden had a lead was Wisconsin, by 2 percentage points, according to the survey taken among registered voters.
