DETROIT – The investigation into the murder of Samantha Woll, a well-known leader in Detroit’s Jewish community, is entering its third week, and there are still many questions surrounding the case. Detroit police said last week that several persons of interest had been identified in the Oct. 21 killing of Woll, but no singular suspect has been publicly identified or charged as of Thursday. Authorities did share some information with the public last week regarding the evidence they’ve uncovered so far and provided a small update this week on the investigation. Samantha Woll, who also went by Sam, was stabbed

The final poll conducted by Emerson College has Kentucky's gubernatorial race in a dead heat. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 likely voters or those who have already voted, found incumbent Governor Andy Beshear and Attorney General Daniel Cameron with 47% support. 2% support someone else, and 4% are undecided. Among undecided voters, Cameron holds a slight advantage, according to the poll, with 49% support compared to Beshear's 48%. "Cameron appears to have gained ground by consolidating Republican voters who supported former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election," said Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling. The admission by Ukraine's top general that the war has reached a "stalemate" is simply a recognition, in some senses, of the reality on the ground and something we and others have already been reporting. However, General Valery Zaluzhny's recent comments in The Economist will likely be used by House Republicans who are opposed to continued U.S. military aid for Ukraine amid their war with Russia. (Snip) "Stalemate" headlines risk fueling the notion that the deadlock cannot be broken by a continuous supply of Western weaponry. However, holding Russia back and ensuring Ukraine survives as a state remains the central

WASHINGTON - Rep. George Santos easily survived a vote Wednesday to expel him from the House as most Republicans and 31 Democrats opted to withhold punishment while both his criminal trial and a House Ethics Committee investigation proceed. The effort to kick Santos out of the House was led by his fellow New York Republicans, who are anxious to distance themselves from a colleague infamous for fabricating his life story and accused of stealing from donors, lying to Congress and receiving unemployment benefits he did not deserve. But the resolution failed to gain the required two-thirds vote. Supporters could not even

Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff has reportedly been living in Maryland for two decades, documents that surfaced Wednesday showed. Mortgage records revealed Schiff claimed his 3,420 square foot property in Maryland as his primary residence, according to CNN. The congressman also reportedly claimed his 650 square foot condo in Burbank, California, as his primary residence to reduce his $7,000 tax bill. (Snip) Along with public records and past comments, pictures previously shared on his public social media indicate Schiff’s main residence is at his Maryland property, CNN noted. The Maryland home was reportedly listed as Schiff’s primary residence in 2003

President Biden's administration is working on a strategy to combat Islamophobia in the U.S. amid Israel's ongoing war against Hamas. The Biden administration said it has already taken steps to protect Jewish students at college campuses across the country. The White House had hoped to announce similar action for Muslim Americans, but the move was met with skepticism from Muslim leaders, two sources briefed on the matter told The Associated Press. Footage and reports of antisemitic incidents have exploded in the weeks following Hamas' Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, particularly on college campuses. Dozens of student groups have sought to

Dalia Al-Aqidi, an Iraqi-born Muslim immigrant to the United States, is running in the Republican Party primary election, hoping to clinch that party’s nomination to challenge Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District seat. Judge Tanya Chutkan, tasked with presiding over some of the cases of January 6 defendants, handed her latest blow to a capitol rioter on Tuesday, giving the defendant 14 days in jail. Dozens of Stars of David have been painted on the walls of Jewish homes and businesses across Paris in a "despicable and intolerable Kristallnacht-style attack linked to the Israel-Hamas War. Police in the French capital say the 60 anti-Semitic messages appeared in the early hours of this morning. The chilling attacks resemble those left on Jewish properties on Kristallnacht – the Night of Broken Glass – in Nazi Germany in November 1938 by paramilitaries marking out buildings which were later attacked in a prelude to the Holocaust. Carine Petit, Mayor of the 14th arrondissement, said they were ‘intolerable acts’ which

Democratic Rep. André Carson, Ind., called fellow Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer, N.J., a "coward," "punk" and "gangster" for his criticism against lawmakers who voted against a resolution to condemn Hamas and support Israel. Carson was one of 16 lawmakers who voted either "no" or "present" on the resolution following the deadly attack against Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7. Gottheimer later called out the Democratic members who refused to condemn Hamas brutality as "despicable." "Last night, 15 of my Democratic colleagues voted AGAINST standing with our ally Israel and condemning Hamas terrorists who brutally murdered, raped, and kidnapped babies, children
