Sam Bankman-Fried's parents broke down in court on Thursday night after their son was found guilty of embezzling $10 billion of his clients money, in what the prosecutor said was 'one of the biggest financial frauds in American history.'
Bankman-Fried, 31, now faces up to 115 years in prison.
The fallen crypto king, who founded FTX, was convicted on all seven counts against him. The jury reached their unanimous verdict in less than five hours. Bankman-Fried looked shellshocked as the jurors were polled, then sat down, motionless, starring at his hands in his lap.

Are the parents indicted too? Should be.
On another note, is hypocrisy a crime?

Wonder if it "was fun while it lasted"? 115 years is a hell of a long time for someone only 31 years old. How many of his business partners are going to trial or did they all turn states evidence to CYA?

Defense lawyers should have vigorously fought DURING his prosecution!
It's hard to defend an arrogant punk who just thought that by giving away money that was not his own to Democrats and leftwing causes, it would immunize him from Federal prosecution. Hell, it's worked up till now, BUT when pilfered amounts went well over billions of dollars, the alarm bells went off.
But never fear, give this punk three shots at the U.S. Appeal Courts and some leftist Demonrat Judge will cut "Screw Ball Freak's" sentence short and let him out for time served... about 3 years. It's the way liberals "spring" their people from prison as payback for funding the Democrats. Hopefully, he'll be put into General Population at a Federal Prison and the inmates will use him for a punching bag.

And his pals like Hunter and Sleepy Joe and the entire Biden Crime Syndicate roam free. Pelosi gets to keep her $30K refrigerator and her husband can play hide the banana in his underwear at home with a burglar.
Sam can't be feeling too well . . .

I do wonder why they didn’t let him go. Of course he’s of no further use from a cash point of view. Whether he knows anything of importance seems doubtful. It could even seem more likely that the real crooks used him like the child he appears to be.
He doesn’t seem to be an Epstein.

Given the deep pockets of mommy and daddy, I am sure that the lawyers will vigorously fight the conviction. Then they will enjoy their new vacation homes in the mountains.

115 years in a slammer and the politicians who stole just as much and committed fraud, still living high and dandy with taxpayer's money.

How's that "effective altruism" going to work in the slammer? After the billions of dollars he stole and misappropriated to leftish pols, I would be gobsmacked if he received a sentence less than fifty years. And he deserves to spend the remainder of his life in the gray bar motel. Give him a century of effective altruism.
No sympathy for his parental units, who reared a bad son who hurt a lot of people, and taught him to be a leftist. They shouldn't have had any children at all. Well, they'll lose this one for a while. He earned his trip to the hoosegow. Hope he enjoys it.

You mean all of that money could not buy off one Democrat juror! Now the trial of the Democrat Stanford professor attorney parents of SBF needs to seen. They knowingly benefited by their genius son’s fraud and money laundering.

Will he be sent to a vegan prison? Will Quid Pro Joe claim he is a forgotten grandson? Will 15 years be removed from his 115 year sentence for good (as good as a dim can be) behavior?

How’s that “effective altruism” working out for them now. Which is just another word for sanctimonious influence peddling. I read in an article that his mother is an advocate of altruism with personal goals in mind. She’s one of those “by any means necessary”gals. I sincerely hope she spends some jail time along with her idiot son. She taught him all he knows. Now they can drown in it.
