House Republicans have chosen Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., as their nominee for speaker after huddling behind closed doors for over two hours on Wednesday. GOP lawmakers voted via secret ballot for who they will put up as speaker in a House floor vote, which will likely come sometime this week. It comes after former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was ousted in a vote by eight members of his own party and all House Democrats last week. That moment marked the first time in history the U.S. House of Representatives voted to remove its own leader. The contest to replace him quickly became a two-man race between

More Fake News! This does not mean Scalise will be Speaker, as implied! There still must be a full House vote and many have already said they will not be switching their votes from Jordan.

We could do worse. Jim Jordan would be better. No way could the RINOs let the Gaetz 8 have another win. This is more about internal (internecine, perhaps?) politics than choosing what's best for the country, per usual. (Note: This would be the first time I've ever used "internecine". It just popped into mind, so apologies if I'm wrong here. It feels right, though)

So the Rebublicans that worked in a bipartisan action to help the Democrats throw out McCarthy will now help elected the Cajun McCarthy. Rebublicans have proven Darwin was wrong and the weak and stupid are thriving in the Rebublican party.

#7, the problem with the 'will of the majority' of the house republicants is that too many of them are compromised, establishment, RINOS interested in what they can grab for themselves instead of what's good for the Republic.. More citizens need to inspect their republican primary candidates very closely in order to reduce the number of such creatures.

For the past seventeen years, the world has condemned the containment of Gaza that followed the rise of Hamas to power in that territory. In just a few days, the world finally learned why containment was necessary for Israel’s security. Hamas’ orgy of annihilation of defenseless civilians, widespread rape of Israeli women (and others caught in their invasion), and hostage-seizing perfectly demonstrated why Gazans needed to be isolated. And not just by Israel. For some reason, few bother to acknowledge that Egypt has partnered with Israel on that containment strategy, and for the same reasons. Those reasons are so vital to Cairo that even with an Israeli ground invasion perhaps just hours

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday said the Israeli government showed him photographs and videos of Hamas atrocities, including of a baby riddled with bullets, soldiers beheaded, and young people burned alive in their cars or hideaways. "It's simply depravity in the worst imaginable way. It almost defies comprehension," Blinken told a news briefing in Tel Aviv, where he traveled after hundreds of Hamas terrorists poured across the barrier fence and rampaged through Israeli towns on Saturday. Blinken said Hamas had no regard for the rule of law or "any basic standard of human decency" and instead target civilians "in the most inhumane ways possible." He carefully described

The American death toll from the barbaric Hamas terror attack on Israel has risen to 25, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Thursday, shortly after arriving in Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior government officials. The number of confirmed American fatalities has continued to rise since Saturday, when thousands of Hamas terrorists poured across the Israel-Gaza border to slaughter, kidnap, and torture Israeli civilians. There are at least 17 Americans among the hostages who were dragged back across the border into Gaza as Hamas withdrew, the White House announced Wednesday.

Come on, man, you may be tempted to respond. The US had known Hamas to be a client and proxy for the mullahs in Tehran for decades. Hamas even routinely brags about the support they get from Iran. They have relied on Iranian arms and munitions for their constant rocket attacks on Israel ever since the Israeli occupation of Gaza ended in 2005, an arms stream that forced Israel to put a policy of containment in place. So why investigate whether Iran’s revolutionary guard (IRGC) trained Hamas “militants,” as NBC News calls the barbaric terrorists? There may be a reason to “investigate” the obvious:
