The US military is fighting a fitness crisis brought by a growing number of obese troops and 'skinny fat' recruits who can't pass fitness tests.
Obesity rates among service members surged during COVID and recruiters are also confronted by a growing number of would-be soldiers who are simply too large, too weak or both.
Top brass are now redefining fitness tests - including the military's notorious 'tape test' - and introducing state-of-the-art scanner machines that calculate body fat. Troops who fail are placed on special programs to bring them into shape.

What do you expect with Biden as your commander in chief with his woke Pentagon appointments.

Yeah, the first thing they went after when they had too many people were us fat ones. They tolerated us when the numbers were low. There was never any consideration given to duty performance; only if you looked like a scrawny little recruiting poster.
It didnt matter that the fat ones were stronger and could skip multiple meals when they werent available. The skinny ones always wanted help lifting and started slowing down and whining when dinner was even a little late.
They have way bigger problems than this, but this is what they'll focus on because they are petty.

First they lowered physical standards for women. Now they're lowering them for fatties.

I served 26 years in the Navy. I am a large, healthy male who never failed a fitness test. But my waist was too large for the service. I also served as a law enforcement officer successfully while serving in the reserves. The anorexics took over the military fitness program in the early 1970s. Sometimes the mission required a large, strong member to accomplish the mission. But they have been drummed out of the service.

Make that a double cheeseburger Captain! Remember to save some fries to bargain with the enemy. They’ll never shoot a man waving a happy meal.

Isn't it one of the reasons and duties of basic training is to get recruits into shape. If these fat out of shape people are being inducted into the military, then it's up to the drill instructors and military to do their job and get them in shape. People who are fat and out of shape have always been inducted into the military. It's the rare recruit that shows up in good shape and is able to pass basic military fitness tests.

How can this be? Don't we constantly hear of all the people starving in this country? How did they get so fat?

It's expected since we no longer have a Commander-in-Chief.

The military " weight standards" we're always unrealistic. At one time, I was 6'2", weighed 230 and had 18% body fat and was put on the fat boy program. They said my ideal weight was 185 pounds. I hadn't weighed that since I was a high school sophomore. This was in 1990.

Hey, fat people can sit at game consoles and knock out targets with our Reaper drones!
Oh, wait! Iran knocked one of them out and then reverse-engineered them like the Chinese do, and they were fully armed by The Vegetable's leaving armament when we bugged out at the last minute without a plan.

Obesity and poor physical condition is the result of low morale, low self-esteem and a general poor outlook on life. If you had been mandated to get a killer shot, forced to share substandard living facilities and showers with LGBTQ freaks and had to live under the leadership of stupid dolts like Joe Biden, Lloyd Austin and General Milley, you would not be in good mental health either. It's going to take time and much better leadership to recreate the superior fighting force we once had.

If we went to world war with China everyone - male first - from 14 to 70 would be drafted. If you can hold a rifle you can be called up for war - especially if it's life or death. Ladies, you're next on the list.
