Speaker Kevin McCarthy urged House Republicans to vote against the resolution brought forward by GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado forcing a vote to impeach President Joe Biden this week, arguing now is not the right time, multiple sources in the closed door meeting told CNN.
McCarthy argued that Republicans should let committee investigations play out and warning that jumping to impeachment now could threaten their slim majority, the sources said. The speaker noted that House Republicans have taken back the House five times in the last 100 years, and two of those times lost the majority the next cycle.
“What majority do we want to be,” McCarthy asked his conference,

Great - more oversight hearings where no one will be held accountable, no budgets reduced or zeroed out, but do worry about the majority Kevin because I'm one of those Republicans who is really getting fed up with useless Republicans like you.

And what will be the response of those staunch conservatives in the Weakdom, excuse me Freedom caucus who are appearing more and more like the rest of the communist democrats and republican human hogs with their snouts thrust deeply into the taxpayers feeding trough? One guess.
Shellac head McCarthy is a traitor and a stealth democrat communist as is his ancient prune faced counterpart in the Senate, China Mitch McConnell. McCarthy is as usual saying wait. For what? Total destruction of us? On a daily basis now, I ask myself the questions why am I a registered republican and why do I bother voting for republicans?

McCarthy, you cannot vote for an impeachment of a President that has violated every immigration law, and taken bribes from foreigners? You cannot enforce the debt limit, when the country is over 30 Trillion in debt that is acknowledged, with hundreds of Trillions of guarantees? Since you do not vote for any Republican positions, why are you the Speaker?

As always it is fluster and bluster. We are not in the "club" and the "club" is not interested in us. The GOP will not do anything about Hunter or Biden and the corruption and incompetence of this administration other than chair investigations and give press releases. The GOP in terms of providing security for its leadership and elected reps is a great success. In terms of helping American citizens not so much. BTW if anyone finds a unattached spine laying around contact your local Rep or Senator, they may want it back but probably not.

Kevin, maybe you would grow your majority if you actually did something that your base cares about!! He should have had articles of impeachment presented in 1/21, it's now 6/23 and you're still afraid? Even if the Senate won't convict, Biden should be impeached separately for ignoring immigration law, then corruption, then incompetence, then the Ukraine war, then his bungling with China, then the vaccine mandates, etc. etc. Tie him up till he leaves.

Committee hearings...yeah right. Political performance art where both sides posture and yell at each other in front of the cameras.
No one is actually held accountable.
No one suffers any repercussions.
Trump, of course, got impeached twice while in office.
The Republicans have got to be the most gutless political party in recent memory

Now is the time to get rid of Kevin McCarthy! That old devil is not the real president; he should be impeached for stealing an election.

Fundamentally, this pres is a disaster on so many levels…he (if that is Joe’s pronoun) needs to be some place where he is harmless, following the legal procedures set for in our Constitution. Unfortunately, there are those on both sides of the aisle that will (not yet) act based on party preservation principles…we will have to wait for blood running in the streets before these fools see that the emperor has no clothes

The problem with this is that then we'd have Cackle-cackle Harris as POTUS. C'mon guys, you need to plan this out better. Impeach both of them, then we'll get the Speaker of the House as POTUS.

McCarthy is correct. Timing is everything. If you’re going to attempt an Impeachment, make sure you’re in the strongest position possible. After all, we’re not democrats. We won’t get a fair shake from the media. We have to have an ironclad case that the majority of Americans will understand and respect. Otherwise we’ll just be playing into the hands of the Left.

Have to agree. Trying to impeach Joe would be totally futile. For now the GOP House leaders should concentrate on efforts that might work and hearings that might enlighten,
Joe deserves to be impeached, But try something useful instead.

McCarthy has been better this time as Speaker than I could have ever imagined. I didn't expect anything to come out of term of Congress, but he has actually done some good things.
But when push come to shove, he remembers that he is a RINO Republi-Can't at heart, his spine turns to jelly, and his soft mushy cajónes recede back inside!!!
This is why the Republican Party just needs to die and be replaced by an honest, patriotic, and strong Conservative Party!!!!!!!
