The U.S. Army is considering a new tape test that will help officers measure a soldier’s body fat, according to a new report. "We want well-balanced soldiers," Army Sgt. Maj. Michael Grinston told Task and Fitness in March. "We didn’t want people to game it so you’d be really strong in one area, but you wouldn’t be well-rounded in fitness overall." The previous tape test, which the Army uses to determine body fat content, measured soldiers around their necks, waists and hips. Critics have long called the method outdated and inadequate for gauging fitness, according to military.com.

The U.S. Army’s Protective Services Battalion (PSB), the Department of Defense’s equivalent of the Secret Service, now monitors social media to see if anyone has posted negative comments about the country’s highest-ranking officers.
Per a report by the Intercept, the PSB’s remit includes protecting officers from “embarrassment,” in addition to more pressing threats like kidnapping and assassination.An Army procurement document from 2022 obtained by the Intercept reveals that the PSB now monitors social media for “negative sentiment” about the officers under its protection, as well as for “direct, indirect, and veiled” threats.

Willowbrook, Ill. (CBS) - Police are investigating after one person was killed and 19 others were hurt in a mass shooting in southwest suburban Willowbrook overnight.
We're learning it happened during a Juneteenth celebration among young people there.
CBS 2's Asal Rezaei reported from the scene with what we know so far.
Police say the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. while a crowd gathered for a party in a parking lot off Route 83 in Willowbrook.
Witnesses say 20 to 30 gunshots were fired into a crowd of over 200 teens and young adults. who were gathered for what is usually a fun and safe time. (Snip) No one is in custody.
