The Supreme Court in 1954 unanimously declared in Brown v. Board of Education that racial discrimination in schools is unconstitutional. The reaction of Democrats was indignation and defiance. Democrat Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus called out the state National Guard to prevent Blacks from entering white schools. Democrat Virginia Senator Harry Byrd organized the “Southern Manifesto” calling for Brown to be reversed and vowing never to implement it. It was signed by 99 Democrats but only two Republicans, including all but two of the Democrat senators from states in the former Confederacy.

Only patronizing white/asian doctors or other professionals is clearly risk management and has nothing to do with race.

Beaton's column is informative, and true. The Democrats are, in fact, illegally acting as a counterweight to the SCOTUS, flat out ignoring recent rulings, not only on racial bias in college admissions, but also on gun control. SCOTUS declares BATFE / Democrat policy to be unconstitutional, the anti-gunners just double down, not really caring what the judicial branch has ruled. Outlaws act that way.

The Lefts Treasonous attitude towards our Constitution is gaining with Biden Administration. If you can't change the law, just ignore it. Now, usually we would have the media, FBI and DOJ to correct this action. But they've been taken over by the Clan of Soros. So if they won't fix it who does? The Military.

FTA: Democrat-controlled legislatures across the South closed many schools to avoid having to integrate them. The Democrat legislature of Florida passed a resolution declaring Brown “null and void.” A Democrat member of the Ku Klux Klan murdered a Black civil rights activist for daring to file a lawsuit to enforce Brown in Mississippi. Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace personally stood in the doorway to block Black enrollment at the University of Alabama. A few years later, this racial hysteria fueled widespread Democrat opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, including a 60-day filibuster in the Senate led by such notable Democrats as Al Gore Sr., William Fulbright, and Robert Byrd. Yes, that's Al Gore's father, William Fulbright (Arkansas) was Bill Clinton's mentor, and Robert Byrd was former Grand Wizard.

Actually, i quit feeling sorry for blacks long ago. History is out there for all to see and if the blacks see the history and still support demorats by 92%, then they deserve to be where they are. Lyndon Johnson was correct. 60 years down, 140 years more to go.

IQ and common sense are key. Hard to measure common sense but according to standardized IQ testing where the average White IQ is set at 100 the average Black IQ is 83 while most Asians are are 105.

Why can a nine-year-old boy consent to

The list of things that nine-year-old boys are prohibited from doing is long. They cannot drive, vote, skip school, get a tattoo without parental permission, buy cigarettes or marijuana or alcohol, or irrevocably mutilate their bodies. If you’ve ever met a nine-year-old boy, you’d probably agree that these prohibitions are sensible. Another thing a nine-year-old boy cannot do is to consent to sexual relations with another person. We sensibly deem the nine-year-old brain incapable of granting consent to such an act.

Hey Bird, Magic, Wilt, Parish, and McHale! Meet the new bosses, not the same as the old bosses: There’s a big white Serbian named Jokic who’s a magician with the ball. He can dunk but rarely bothers. He has a soft touch that usually finds the hoop, and loves to get the ball into the hands of others to do the same. He leads by example. He’s so clever that watching basketball is now something like watching hockey – you lose track of the puck/ball. Jokic never went to college, never learned to trash talk, and never got too full of himself.

In a 168-page commentary by a former wisenheimer local newspaper columnist, one doesn’t expect to find the breadth and depth of Alexis de Tocqueville or the wit and wisdom of H.L. Mencken when it comes to vibrant, insightful social analysis. But in his newly-published book “High Attitude: How Woke Liberals Ruined Aspen,” Glenn Beaton has his moments. Here’s one of them: “Aspen and the rest of America changed in the ’60s, in some ways for the better but mostly for the worse. America recovered, but Aspen never did.”

The Supreme Court decision last year in Dobbs v. Jackson overruled Roe v. Wade, their 1973 decision that purported to find an abortion right in a U.S. Constitution that never mentions or alludes to it. Abortion is now rightly governed by the people’s elected legislators, and, sadly, to some extent by unelected bureaucrats, but, in any event, not by judges. The Dobbs decision was leaked a couple of months in advance of its issuance.

The unemployment rate is very low, but we have millions fewer people working in America than pre-pandemic. So what gives? Here’s what gives. It’s because the unemployment rate does not measure the total number of people who are unemployed. It instead measures the number of people who are unemployed but looking for work. Many people who are unemployed today are simply not looking. Work is not to their liking.

I have only one criticism of the just-released book by long-time superstar FBI agent Thomas Baker entitled “The Fall of the FBI.” It really should be entitled “The Winter of the FBI.” That’s how bad things have gotten in the upper echelons of the Bureau. It wasn’t always that way. More than half the book is a collection of true crime stories that illustrate the competence and professionalism of the Bureau in the old days. Most end with the bad guys in jail. Baker had a first-hand view of these cases because he was involved in many of them.

In the 1977 action-comedy “Smokey and the Bandit,” Burt Reynolds plays a bootlegger named Bo. Everyone calls him “Bandit” because the name “Bo” was apparently too informal for his friends. The script was so trite that the actors made up much of the dialogue as the cameras rolled. The alleged plot centers on a rich Georgia businessman’s offer of $80,000 to Bandit to drive to Texas and back to fetch him a semi full of Coors beer. In both the movie and real life, you may recall, Coors was illegal east of Texas at the time.

In my prime back in the last century, I played a lot of basketball. I was quick, had a good first move to the basket, could shoot OK, and played pretty good defense. At 6’1”, on a good day I could dunk the ball. But I had little understanding of the game, and was not a good passer. To me, a “play” was a simple screen. I wasn’t a good ball player, even at the pick-up game level. But I knew I could beat the women. In fact, I knew I was as good as the women college players.

Another week, another slaughter in the schools. This time, it was in Nashville. A cowardly nut blasted into a Christian elementary school and started shooting people. She killed three helpless adults in their 60s, one of whom was the woman headmaster who ran straight toward the sound of gunshots to protect the children in her charge. And three nine-year-olds. Police – remember them, the folks the wokesters wanted to ban? – were on-scene within 10 minutes. With fear (who wouldn’t be?) but without hesitation, they too ran toward the gunshots.

Like many school boards, the Denver School Board years ago asked the police for help in quelling violence in the schools. The police succeeded to some extent. So far, so good, though it’s a poor reflection on our society, our schools, our students, and their parents. In 1975, about 1% of schools had cops onsite. By a few years ago, it was over 50%. The presence of cops did help. But the Denver School Board was disappointed that the encounters by the school police involved a disproportionate number of students of color. That was no surprise to anyone paying attention to crime statistics.

Monday, the nineteenth of June, is our newest federal holiday (just 2 years old), Juneteenth, and federal workers get yet another day’s pay without having to work for it. Since the federal workforce is heavily overrepresented with black workers (18.2% of the federal workforce versus 12.6% of the population), the words “disparate impact” come to mind, benefitting African Americans with a paid holiday that not too many other employees get, judging by the fact that I was able to book two appointments with service providers tomorrow before I even realized Monday was holiday.

The transgender issue makes everyone crazy. That’s the only explanation I can give for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) berating the state of Florida for executing Duane Owen, who was convicted of raping and murdering a 14-year-old babysitter and a 38-year-old mother of two. Indeed, the ACLU is strongly opposed to capital punishment. But the organization only made passing reference to their opposition to the death penalty. Instead, they were livid with Florida for executing Duane Owen because the state refused to allow Owen to “transition” to female. (Snip) “No one should be killed by the state. Scott is the only Black candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race and Haley is Indian American. Which has got to leave a sour taste in Scott's mouth, given that he's the only black man in the presidential race, and what's more, he's actually lived firsthand through the era of real racism as a child growing up in the South. Asked about Scott’s messaging, Obama said there was sometimes a tendency among Republican candidates to gloss over the effects of racism, arguing that candidates need to address racial disparities to be taken seriously on the subject of American unity.
