Fast food lovers are deeply divided over Chick-fil-A's launch of a new cauliflower sandwich, with some welcoming the addition, while others reacted in horror to the 77-year-old chain 'going woke'.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based family firm announced on February 13 that they were trialling the new plant-based sandwich in three locations: Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina, and Greensboro, North Carolina.
The $7 sandwich - contains no meat, but is not considered fully vegetarian 'due to its cooking environment,' Chick-fil-A said. A regular Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich can cost as little as $3.05 in cities where the plant-based newbie is being triale.d

It ought to be half or less than the real equivalent. It costs very little to raise grass and cabbage.

It's just a veggie sandwich. If you don't want it, don't buy it. If enough people don't want it, it will go away.

Yeah, this is not going to go well. People who eat plant-based sandwiches tend to be lie-berals in most cases.
Lie-berals already hate Chick-fil-A. I doubt a cauliflower sandwich is going to change that.
I don't have a problem with them trying this, though I certainly won't be trying this (even if they offer me a free one). But it sure wreaks of a company not knowing their base customers very well.

If no one buys it they will drop it. After all these years I'm still waiting for them to bring back their slaw. Now if they said they were dropping their chicken sandwich and serving the cauliflower sandwich to save the world that would be woke. This probably just ends up being a stupid business mistake. Who in their right mind goes to CFA for a cauliflower sandwich? Mickey D's figured that out. If I find out they are sneaking ground bug powder into their mac 'n cheese then I will walk away.

"Meat" made from plants tastes yucky. The first, last and only time I've ever been in a Chick-Fil-A, the chicken on my plate was an odd grey color. Have not been back.

Restaurants try different menu items all the time, some make the cut, many don’t. They must perceive some demand for a non-meat sandwich and are trying to fill it, this is the essence of the free market economy in action. There is lots of woke stuff out there to be concerned about, this isn’t.

Probably trying to attract vegetarian types to their establishments. I have no problem with that.

First, a lot of us will remember CFA's fan base probably quadrupled 2012. I guess when the founder Truett Cathy died, his son decided he was tired of being burdened by Christian ethics. Oh well, as Sinatra sang, ''riding high in April, shot down in May.'' Second, maybe this time the liberals can save his ''bacon.'' Too bad, since the chicken chain was among the very first in this area to put gluten-free bread on the menu. That's one less app for the old antique cell phone.

Woke? This doesn't rise to the other weird wokeisms rampant today. A vegetarian option is strictly a business opportunity -- provide for a clientele who don't eat meat.

I would have thought libs would love Chick-fil-A more after CEO Dan Cathy encouraged people to shine the shoes of black strangers as a means of crossing racial barriers.
Dan even publicly polished the sneakers of the black rapper Lecrae.
If libs go to Chick-fil-A at all, a veggie sandwich is right up their street.

The Chick-Fil-A cows should be happy, eat more Vegans they will shout. Make the vegans happy. They can have their own Chick-Fil-A, and don't forget the pickle, IDGAF about the vegan burger. Give me the real chickin' Chick-Fil-A with the pickle and a side order of their Fries. I'm happy. The Vegans, they can finally make a meal at the Fil-A w/o complaining to the rest of us.

This change my opinion about the ChicFila at all. I don’t eat much fast food but if I have a choice it’s usually them. I like the business model and they have the most polite and hard working servers. I don’t think this will sell but hey it’s their choice to try it.

Has anyone in this chain looked to see that there are many people out there that are Gluten Intolerant. My wife is and it is a pain in the arse to put together something she can eat. Is it possible that Chic-A-Fill had that in mind. Huh?
Dominoes Pizza offers a gluten free pizza that she loves because she can’t get one anywhere else. Most supermarkets have gluten free breads, pasta and pastries that are frozen. Yes, it is a bit pricey. But, it is worth it to nut see her get sick. Think twice then sit on it for a while before attacking a business that is providing something that is edible. You don’t have to buy that sandwich.
For those that reply without reading the whole article don’t research all I have to say is shove it.
