Seymour Hersh’s pipeline bombing story
is being challenged

Original Article

The bombshell last week was that Seymour Hersh, an investigative reporter who made his name in Vietnam reporting on the My Lai massacre, had released a Substack essay proving that Joe Biden ordered the Nord Stream pipelines to be blown up. Now, though, an analyst says that the essay is manifestly untrue. (This doesn’t erase the possibility that Biden blew up the pipelines; it just means that Hersh’s version isn’t what happened.) [snip] Hersh’s report was based on a single anonymous source, I wasn’t ready to believe it without further corroboration.

Comments:

I have been suspicious of this story from the start, mostly because I don't like or trust Hersch. My boss once told me that "when mere incompetence will explain a bad outcome as well as malfeasance, it's probably incompetence. Incompetents are 100 times more common than actually bad people."
In this case, I have long suspected that stupid Russians didn't realize that internal pressure in the pipeline was balancing the water pressure outside. The pipeline was probably originally OK, but as a pipe rusts it gets weaker and weaker year after year, but if the outside and inside pressure are not too different, there isn't much load on the rusty, thinning steel.
BUT, shut down the internal gas pressure....and that rusty weak spot now sees no pressure inside and the same water pressure outside, much more stress on the steel.....BOOM, it collapses.
That's been my theory after thinking about the engineering of it for a while.

Well, since Mr Hersh’s first claim to fame was titled “My Lai” in Vietnamese, I suggest we title his second claim in English “ My Lie.”

I don't find the refutation of Hersh's story very convincing either, as it really has nothing. Hersh never claimed his story was perfect, but that it got to the right place of who blew up the pipeline. The U.S. blew up the pipeline, with the cooperation of allies.

FTA:"Hersh’s report was based on a single anonymous source," Never believe anything published citing "Anonymous Sources"! It can never be corroborated and is very rarely true...see the NYT for example: Have they ever printed an article citing anonymous sources that was true? No they have not.

My conclusion after reading this is very similar to when I first saw the article: Seymour Hersh may be correct about Joe Biden ordering the Nord Stream pipelines blown up, but Seymour Hersch has no inside knowledge about it (not even from a "source"). It is unlikely that someone with inside knowledge about President Biden giving the order would have told Seymour Hersh. They would have known that he would publish the information they gave him, so only someone who wanted this to get out would have leaked it to him. But, anyone who wanted it to get out would have wanted it to be believed, so they would have given it to someone with a better reputation for reliability.

I believe the US sabotaged the Nord Stream Pipelines. They simply took a play out of the environmentalists manual, who have been doing this for years. In fact, I believe Biden told us he was going to do it. I don’t for one second believe the Russians are as stupid and inept as some try to portray them.

Take a full aluminum Coke can....try to crush it with your fingers, or even stand on it with part of your weight...OUTSIDE, it may puncture if there is a tiny rock and you stand on it, don't try it indoors. Pop it open, remove the internal pressure.....now you can crush it with your hand easily. WIihout the internal pressure of the gassy Coke ( about 30-50 psi, sources vary) to stiffen it, the can (short piece of pipe) is very much weaker from outside pressure. IMO, there is a good chance that when the Russians shut down the pipeline, it was no longer supported structurally and stiffened by the internal pressure - and just collapsed due to the high outside water pressure. People underestimate the capabililty of Russians to build a subpar pipeline, fail to maintain it and then suddenly drop the internal pressure on a pipeline deep under the ocean. The pipeline is about 330 feet deep. The water pressure there is around 200 pounds on every square inch. Every square foot of that pipe is supporting 14 tons which is trying to smash it flat. With the pipeline operating, the internal pressure is about 3,000 psi so the pipe steel is in tension, and protected from collapse caused by those tremendous outside water forces, kind of like an inflated balloon. Kinda like that Coke can when it is full. Remove that internal pressure.....and the pipe is less stable. And, IMO, the quality of manufacture of the pipeline is very suspect to begin with. Destabilize it by turning off the pumps and dropping the pressure inside. Destabilizing, for sure.

A California district attorney unloaded on Gov. Gavin Newsom Friday as the state officials remain locked in a war of words over the death of a police officer allegedly gunned down by a released convict while on duty. Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp has squarely blamed liberal leaders' criminal justice reforms for the tragedy, saying Newsom has "blood" on his hands. Newsom, in a heated response, pointed the finger at Smittcamp's prosecutorial discretion in the case. Gonzalo Carrasco Jr., a 24-year-old officer with the Selma Police Department, was allegedly gunned down by a released convict on the job Tuesday. Authorities have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Nathaniel Dixon

So migrants do indeed enter countries illegally and bring with them a lot of crime. That's what anyone who lives in a migrant zone, which includes Europe, already knows, given the scope of soaring crime in such areas.  A recent Swedish study, cited below, certainly found a link: According to a RealClearPolitics investigation, by respected researchers John R. n Tuesday, Iowa became the second state in the country to pass universal school choice, directly providing families with funds to support their children’s education. Arizona was the trendsetter for this new wave of educational freedom after Gov. Doug Ducey signed universal school choice into law on July 7, 2022.  Now the race is on to advance educational freedom, with several red states looking to follow suit. The significance of these developments can hardly be overstated. What was once a pipe dream for many education reformers — the enabling of school choice at scale during their lifetimes — is now becoming a reality.

We are now three years after the COVID-19 apocalypse began, and the CDC and WHO still refuse to acknowledge that the virus was created in and escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). But they, along with all our institutions, have lied so often and so egregiously that 72% of the public doesn’t believe them. If nothing else, that is a very positive sign. The evidence for the lab leak is as overwhelming as the evidence for a zoonotic origin is non-existent. For anyone trained in the art of biology to deny the lab origin betrays either deceit or, worse, willful ignorance.

In mid-December, Dr. John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) and a world-recognized expert on guns and crime, testified before a Congressional subcommittee on violence and made some startling revelations. Perhaps one of the most important was that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) covered up the fact that armed citizens use their guns quite frequently to stop active shooter attacks. According to Lott’s testimony before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, the FBI grossly underreported the number of times armed citizens had stopped active shooters.

This is one of those stories that you’re certain is from the Babylon Bee, and that is stunning in its implications when it turns out to be the truth. In this case, the truth is that, in accordance with UN and WEF climate recommendations, the city of Oxford (home to the famed university) approved plans mandating that citizens may not drive more than 15 minutes distance from their homes without permission. It’s called the “15 Minute City” and is intended to reduce auto emissions. Mostly, though, it will reduce liberty, which is what climate change madness has always been about.

There is a strange but all too widespread coalition of left-wing anti-war activists and alleged “right-wing” isolationists trying desperately to dimmish any perception that Russia and China are working together against American security. A focus has been the Ukraine invasion, the larger consequences of which they dismiss except to fear that it might lead to regime change in Moscow rather than Kyiv. The most ugly and ridiculous manifestation of this was Tucker Carlson’s disgraceful rant against President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech to Congress. He embarrassed Fox News and insulted its patriotic audience by trotting out every New Left argument from the anti-Vietnam war era,

We are all Americans.  That said, there have been efforts for years to divide us for perceived political reasons.  Those who live in the bigger cities often tend to look down their noses to those who don't.  We have become a Blue America and a Red America.  I personally believe that the colors are reversed, but maybe that's just me.  A good representation of red vs. blue can be seen on the 2020 election map by counties. It has gotten so bad that there are discussions of secession and even civil war, God forbid.  It would be difficult to have states against states.  The real conflict appears to be larger cities versus the rest of America.

When it was announced that a promo video for the show would air during the Super Bowl, heads figuratively exploded. They know that exposing the show to the gigantic Super Bowl audience, many of whom had never heard of it, would inevitably drive sampling, and that some of the new viewers would stay with the show, further driving down their ratings.
