Chinese spy balloon contained technology
to monitor communication signals, US says

Original Article

The Biden administration has determined that the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that traversed the United States last week was operating with electronic surveillance technology capable of monitoring US communications, according to a senior State Department official. The balloon "was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations" and was part of a fleet that had flown over "more than 40 countries across five continents." "We know the PRC used these balloons for surveillance," the official said. "High resolution imagery from U-2 flybys revealed that the high-altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations."

How does our "intelligence" know the chicoms have flown these over 40 countries when we were told they didn't even detect them until this incursion? Also, how does our "intelligence" know that Xi was unaware of these balloons? Did they just ask him and expect him to be as truthful as our dear leader? Also, how can we claim to have blocked communication with this balloon when we know the chicoms were able to change course of said balloon so it flew over several of our military facilities? Was communication to the balloon allowed but communication from the balloon back to the chicoms blocked--I don't think so. So much BS and so little time...

Is this the lie du jour/heure/minute/deuxieme? Seriously this is shiny object crisis territory to deflect/wind up everyone. The Chinese know already what's going on. They have enough satellites and any additional info they need they can get from FJB or any of the myriad treasonous bureaucratscum by simply depositing money to an offshore a/c. They don't need no stinking balloons.

They always dismiss the significance of intelligence that this kind of invasive surveillance is able to collect by citing the omniscience of the satellites. I'm not reassured since I noticed that I tend to see a lot more details when I'm closer to whatever I'm looking at. Just say'n. One other thing: l'm no expert in balloon-busting, but wouldn't it have been to puncture the balloon in a way that would have brought it down less precipitously? Maybe it was not possible if it was filled with hydrogen, but was it? Why did we need to blow it out of the sky with a $800 K missile and fish the pieces out of the Atlantic?

Don't believe the info lies. The tech on that craft had pinpoint GPS locating capability that can target any object they want within 1 meter of accuracy. They probably also have high-def 3D digital photography gear as well as other military-grade sensors like infrared, radiation, and other detectors that gave them a completely accurate map of targets to hit when the time is right.

Aviation Week and SpaceX Technology has published an article today on new technology revelations revealed by the shoot down of the balloon. For example, it was unknown until now that a F22 airmed with AIM 9X Sidewinder can bring down a balloon at an altitude in excess of 60,000 feet. The balloon itselt does not present a heat signature recognizable by the Sidewinder. The missile locked onto heat sources on the balloon's platform. The balloons construction indicates major Chinese advancements in high altitude temperature control of the enclosed helium (it was a helium balloon.) And, recent iterations of this surveillance platform have been active for years.

Now we say we blocked communications? Blocked means jammed. You don't jam transmitters, you jam receivers. A simple process of overpowering the frequency. That's overcome by bouncing frequencies which is easily dealt with by bouncing your jammer. I suspect today's equipment is far beyond the old GLQ-3.

The dishonorable country of China. As we already know, China lies. This is just more proof - it is just a harmless weather balloon they tried to tell us. Why was the mission so clandestine and prior permission not requested if it were so harmless? They knew they were spying, and they got caught. All to gather info about how we would respond to their invasion of Taiwan. We better get prepared if we would respond. Stop selling weapons to Ukraine, stockpile those and other weapons, build up our strategic oil reserves, and begin talks about how to reinstitute the draft for starters.

I saw a woman, Biden defender state that Biden made the right decision to wait because the water off the SC coast is warmer and easier to extract the shot down spying gear compared to the Aleutian Isles. My question is, how did our dear leader know the balloon would eventually reach the comfy water off SC? Since the chicoms had the ability to guide this balloon how did dear leader know the chicoms would not guide it to the cold waters off the coast of Maine or even guide it into Canada and around the polar region over Russia and back to China?

Taking down the electric grids and electronic communications of the U.S. and its allies sounds so breathtaking in concept as to be something that would only happen in a movie. Yet, a fleet of Chinese balloons surveilling 40 countries is some reason for concern. A relatively cheap and effective way to neutralize the enemy before starting a war.

President Joe Biden hosted the National Governors Association Winter Meeting in the East Room of the White House Friday, and he couldn’t resist the temptation to toss out one of his trademark not-off-the-cuff quips. “Every time I hear ‘the President of the United States,’ I look around and say, ‘Where the hell is he?’” Biden said. The line apparently failed, as very few in the room laughed and some looked confused or concerned. Watch: Very funny, Joe. Actually, it’s not that funny, and although he’s made similar jests in the past, it points to a larger problem: many don’t believe the President is really in charge—including seemingly himself.

It is unclear what type of classification markings the folder had or what material had previously been inside. Additionally, sources tell ABC News that a laptop belonging to a current aide of the former president was also provided to federal agents. Sources said the discovery occurred in mid-January as Trump's team was searching through additional boxes amid the Department of Justice's ongoing efforts to have Trump's attorneys verify that Trump no longer still has classified documents in his possession.
