The sedation, subordination and emasculation

Testosterone is an interesting hormone. The more a man uses it, the higher his levels become. And the higher his levels become, the more he wants to use it. Exercise, especially resistance training like weight lifting, increases T levels. And then the increased T levels make a man want to go lift some weights. It’s a virtuous circle. If gasoline in a car were like T in a man’s body, the more you drove, and the harder you drove, the more gas there would be in your tank. But there’s not much gas in the tank of young men these days. Ironically, testosterone is not actually responsible for male aggression and sexual assertiveness. Testosterone is converted into estrogen by the aromatase enzyme before is acts on the male brain. It is estrogen that actually triggers the male drive. Both men and women respond to estrogen but because their brains develop differently, it results in different behaviors. It the internet age the drug that is most responsible for the suppression of natural male aggression and the pursuit of real sexual relationships is pornography. Now that porn is both ubiquitous, free, and destigmatized there is no limit to the amount of self-pleasuring that a young male can engage in. As was pointed out by Gen. Jack Ripper in "Dr Strangelove", this results in the draining of their "precious bodily fluids" while saturating their brains with intense dopamine spikes followed by drive suppressing serotonin spikes. Why risk the expense and potential humiliation from risky real relationships when you can have all the fun for free with your laptop. Porn is not a simple moral problem; it is an existential threat to the survival of the human race.

I have 4 nephews, 2 sets of brothers. I worry about one set. They have a chaotic home life, no bedtime and other lack of rules. The other set have great parents with a very stable home life and it’s like watching a science experiment as they all grow up. And yeah, the lazy parents have both boys on benzodiazepines. The good mom is sister to the bad dad and I’ve talked to her a little bit about my concerns and she said it’s like talking to a brick wall. The kids with the lazy parents live next door to my excellent MIL. She’s the only stability they have.

As men age, their T levels drop drastically which is why I take a testosterone gel as a supplement. It keeps my energy up plus my libido. A caveat, it increases sexual desire but does nothing for the “performance “ as it were. It does keep me more active at age 80.

#1 - "Porn is not a simple moral problem; it is an existential threat to the survival of the human race." I believe it is precisely because porn is an existential threat to the survival of the human race that is indeed a moral problem. There are no "simple" moral problems for they all pose existential threats to the human race. That is why the commies always attack religion and the family first because they are the foundations; literally the breeding grounds of the culture and society. Historically men have led human societies through their strength, and so that strength has been systematically removed from the general population through a myriad of avenues; broken homes, social workers and psychologists to help with the trauma, indoctrination centers formerly known as schools, pediatricians pushing behavioral modification drugs, computers-ipads-cell phones, and not a church, priest or minister in sight. We live in a pagan world awash in prescription and illegal drugs governed by devil-inspired ideology. The good news is that believers no longer have travel half way across the world to reach mission territory like our 19th century brothers and sisters; we're living in it. I must admit in some respects it is a rather exciting time for a Christian. I still get chills remembering the nuns in grade school telling us of the Holy Martyrs from the first and second centuries walking into the Roman coliseum singing hymns and praising God as they faced the hungry lions. They went to their deaths with such public joy at the anticipated meeting of Jesus Christ they stunned the Roman world. Despite the persecutions, the numbers of Christians increased as the public witness of the martyrs drew interest from a jaded population as to what manner of a God could compel people to embrace horrible death with such joy. Faith in the Judaeo-Christian God of the Holy Bible was/is the foundation of Western Civilization in general, and the United States of America in particular. We cannot save either without a Great Spiritual Awakening. It begins with each person reading and meditating on Holy Scripture, and having an active prayer life. However, without public communal worship we cannot have a healthy nation. For the churched, joyfully invite your family and friends to join you in services. For the unchurched, search for the spiritual community that will nourish you - this is not the time to be alone. An ember out of the fire soon loses its glow. We will never achieve any cultural changes or political victories unless they are founded on Biblical realities. In God We Trust.

Lauren Boebert is “present” but that’s

A couple of centuries ago, an extraordinary group of 56 men on the eastern seaboard of our continent declared the independence of their lands. At the close of their Declaration of Independence, they further declared, “We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our scared honor.” I think Lauren Boebert would have voted “present.” The Founders weren’t just being melodramatic. Had they lost the Revolutionary War, they’d have met their end at the end of a rope. They took that risk to found this amazing democratic republic, one that Abraham Lincoln later noted was “conceived in liberty.” He might have added “with undaunted courage and against all odds.”

The number of people on planet Earth is about 8 billion. The number has grown exponentially, as numbers that are the result of exponential functions do. It’s something like the miracle of compound interest. The graph tells the story. I don’t think we’re on the verge of starving ourselves. That Malthusian apocalypse gets proven wrong over and over. That’s because Malthusians fail to foresee the agricultural productivity ensuing from technology. For that matter, they fail to foresee the general increase in well-being and comfort that technology brings about.

In stock market investing, you’re supposed to be pessimistic when everyone else is optimistic, and optimistic when everyone else is pessimistic. Warren Buffet famously put it this way: “Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.” The reason the aforecited principle applies well in stock market investing is that the herd instinct makes people buy or sell stocks because other people are buying or selling. The result is that the stocks get over-sold or over-bought, thereby driving their price too low or too high in relation to their real indicators of value – mainly their current and future profits.

Scientists generally agree that the universe – defined as everything in existence – has not always existed. It came into existence with a bang about 13 billion years ago. This bang was a big one, so they named it the “Big Bang.” Before the Big Bang, there was no space, no energy and no time – not even empty space, zero energy or stopped time. There was nothing. And then everything was created out of this nothing. We call this everything “creation.” It’s the tangible universe around us, seen and unseen. It’s the energy, the matter, and the progression of time.

The Biden administration made headlines last year when they boastfully appointed to a high level position at the Office of Nuclear Energy a certain person. This person is “non-binary” and refers to his/her/them/itself with ungendered pronouns. OK, I get that. The person feels that he/her/it/they does (do?) not fit neatly into the anachronistic gender labels developed over about two million years of human history and prehistory as interpreted by science, medicine, genetics, sociology, biology, logic, anthropology and biochemistry promulgated by dead white European men – and dead men and women of color on the rest of the planet – consistent with the male/female dichotomy in the animal world.

In a case argued at the Supreme Court this week, a Colorado website designer appealed a decision from lower courts requiring her to create wedding websites for gay couples in violation of her religious belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. The Court is likely to reverse the lower court decision, and allow her to decline to create such websites. The liberal minority on the Court and the liberal media argue that such a decision will lead to a new Jim Crow era where the providers of public accommodation are allowed to refuse services to people on the basis of their sexual preferences or skin color.

Sitting around the house watching daytime TV in pajamas became the responsible thing to do. With no one working, unsurprisingly, no work got done. It was like a two-year snow day. Or Ferris Bueller’s Two-Years Off. Democrats loved it, of course, because Democrats hate work.

A gunman entered a gay nightclub – or I guess they call them LGBTQ nightclubs now – in Colorado Springs last weekend and opened fire. Five people were killed and 18 were injured. He was finally stopped when a former army soldier pounced on him, kicked his gun away, and pinned him to the floor. Then Democrats pounced. Not on the gunman, but on Colorado Springs. The New York Times declared that Colorado Springs: “was known for years as the Vatican of Evangelicals — a home base for a well-funded, well-organized conservative Christian political movement that broadcast dire warnings about the dangers of homosexuality to the nation.”

The GOP performance in the midterm elections is very disappointing, but here’s some good news. It would take a miracle for the Democrats to retain the House of Representatives. Let’s do the math. According to Wall Street Journal and other credible sites, the GOP has won about 211 seats and the Dems have won 192. That means about 32 seats are still undecided. The GOP needs at least 7 of those 32 to reach the bare majority of 218. It’s fair to assume that the odds on each of those races is about 50/50. If it were otherwise, they’d have been decided. They’re “toss-ups”

The Supreme Court on Monday considered the arguments of Harvard and the University of North Carolina justifying their racial discrimination in admissions. The schools will probably lose. They schools argue their racial discrimination (they refuse to call it that, of course) is just one of many factors they consider in admissions. But the data show it’s by far the most important one. For example, at UNC a white person with a given set of test scores, grade point average and other factors, with 10% chance of getting admitted, would have a 98% chance with the same qualifications if he were black.

Riots broke out in Memphis and are rapidly spreading through the usual urban areas. The purported rationale is the horrific beating to death in Memphis of Tyre Nichols captured on video and released by the police. As Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) observes, Nichols’ beating was administered by “Black officers in a majority Black city with a Black police chief.” The officers involved have been criminally charged, but the media to which every Black killed by a cop is just proof that we are still in the Selma, Alabama world of decades ago -- another case of some innocent Black person victimized by racist oppressors. Some are saying that the death of Tyre Nichols was due to “bad policing” or perhaps affirmative action hiring. Neither is truly the main reason. The Tyre Nichols tragedy was due to a spiritual void where the perpetrators have no conscience. You don’t behave so viciously toward anyone unless you have it in your soul, your being, to be that way. And because the human race is fallen, deeply prone to bad behavior, born to be bad, so to speak, human beings default to that evil fallen state.
