Steve Almond's Failed Ambush of Laura Ingraham

Some people make a name for themselves by building something -- a business, a following, an audience. Others try to make a name for themselves not by building anything but just by trying to tear down what others have built. Steve Almond has set out to do the latter. For the past few years he has set out to tear down the National Football League through a book he wants to sell. (snip) He appeared on Ingraham’s show with a dual agenda.

Was watching Laura that evening and not aware of who this man is. His appearance seemed to be something out of a horror movie, with a sinister, dark zombie of a man staring at us - and her. Busy doing other things so did not see the entire exchange. My initial reaction: Yikes!

Over time, advertisers aside, we've all learned that Laura was right about David Hogg. As for doing away with the NFL, he needs to do an Elon Musk; buy a team then turn it into whatever he wants at his own cost.

Oh man, the worst thing Laura could have done is cut the guy off. The Left is going to have a field day with this. They're going to say she can't handle the truth so she tucked her tail between her legs and ran away like a coward by cutting him off. It simply makes the Left look like they're right about her. She should have stood up to him and eviscerated him on the spot, but she didn't. BIG mistake.

Almond is a sleazeball but I tend to agree with the overall assessment of the NFL and professional sports in general. I also think this Damar Hamlin incident is being way overhyped to make some sort of statement and I'm not quite sure what it is. Athletes suffer serious injuries and recover quite often so what is so special about this instance? He's a good guy and I'm happy that he is recovering and will most likely play again. Is the media so gleeful that he did not die because it takes the heat off the COVID scam this time? We have had several deaths of young, apparently healthy, unknown athletes just this week and Hamlin's death would have been very high profile. Productive workers, first responders and our military suffer injuries and death every week, they rarely make the news. As for this "resurgence of prayer" thing going around, I don't buy it. The fact that a couple of football teams knelt on a field out of concern for one of their own after kneeling to dishonor our flag and our country for years does not mean that they have all had an epiphany. They are still the same woke people who take millions of dollars from their fans and rub it in the faces of America because people pay over a hundred dollars a game to see them no matter how they behave. Any opinions?

#6 I agree. My life has been filled with articles on and pictures of Damar Hamlin. My Facebook page is full of them. Websites I visit are full. This website has many. I had no idea who he was and still don't, except that he played football. I'm worn out with Damar Hamlin, glad he may get okay, but enough is enough.

Don't know who Almond is and don't care. As for the NFL, I quit with them the day Crapperdink took a knee. If it ended tomorrow, it would literally make no difference to me!

I saw the interview and thought Laura handled it well. My major criticism was that when Steve Almond repeatedly said that professional football was racist, Laura never stopped to demand he give some examples. She is not the only conservative to let the racist accusation go unanswered. It’s way past time to make the Democrats back up the racist charge. I may be wrong but I don’t think she cut him off. His Hogg accusation came right when the segment ended.

Scott McLaughlin said, "I'm f------ killing that b----." After doing just that, he came back covered in Beverly Guenther's blood. When he led the police to his ex-girlfriend's body, they found her naked from the chest down, with her bra stained red with her own blood. McLaughlin admitted to stabbing Guenther. Over and over again. (snip) because he eventually claimed to be a woman, feminists pleaded with authorities to spare his her his life. In 2021, Disney greenlit Strange World, an animated movie about a family journeying through a mysterious land to save a resource that’s losing its energy. Bob Iger, who is returning to Disney to “save” it from Bob Chapek’s sad tenure, was still on board in 2021, so he must have greenlit it. That’s a relevant fact because the movie bombed at the box office. Coincidentally or not, the movie has an openly gay subtext as one of the main male characters crushes on another boy. Before the movie opened, the media wanted audiences to know about the gay romance, probably under the mistaken belief that audiences would care:

They also found a lesion on her chest, which appeared to be basal cell carcinoma, and doctors extracted. They later confirmed it was that type of skin cancer.
