The system's too powerful! You can't beat a "big brother" police State! The globalists control all the money and have all the leverage! I've heard every reason under the sun why individual liberty will continue to lose out to the rapidly advancing technocratic surveillance structure extinguishing Western freedoms today. I say, "So what?" The bigger they come, the harder they fall.
Our whole human story is a repeating pattern in which power accumulates, empires emerge, power corrupts, divisions grow, and empires come crashing down. Anyone who thinks an international oligarchy of corporate behemoths, central banks, and Intelligence Community spy chiefs will succeed where the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Carolingian, Byzantine, Ottoman, Yuan, Ming, and British empires all failed

But I do not want to wait for hundreds of years until the oligarchy falls. That exceeds my lifetime, so this article provides no reassurances. No, I want my freedoms restored today, right now!

Pretty good article. Pretty good recap of history. The problem is that the ancient empires had nowhere near the power that "they" do today, due to technology. The other problem is that his solution of combating the tyranny with an "idea" (think Messala in Ben Hur) needs two things, which I'm not sure exist: people to create an idea, and people to implement it. Not easy in today's power structure. I could envision it rising from the ruins, like in the underground society of Terminator, but not in a first-world culture.

Maybe, but half of America is onboard with the lies and will vote against their own interests and freedom to keep the benefits coming. When America finally goes down the crapper it will take western civilization with it and that will end very badly.

But how far will it go? The longer it takes, the more suffering there will be. Hopefully, the new Republican Senate will take this to heart. There is not much time left.

Our government will not fix itself, the people must do it. Besides overcoming and rooting out a corrupt and destructive government we must eliminate the stupid half of the American population that encourage and go along with the lunacy because their brainwashing began shortly after birth. It's a big task but observe that the people of Iran and China have already begun the work. They have it far worse than Americans do and perhaps that's why they will accomplish it faster. As for length of time, fight them daily in everything they do that is against common sense and freedom. They are relatively few and their power is fragile.

FTA: "Man's yearning for liberty is as fierce as any inherent need, and when conditions are right, nothing can stop its vigorous bloom."
Explain Afghanistan...or Iraq...or Cuba or any number of countries deems not free. That's sentimental nonsense that gets Americans into trouble time after time. It's hardly true anymore in the USA, where people demand Federal government intervention for every and all things, and can't even come to common understanding of "Free Speech", a core tenet of the American culture, which itself is under assault for its whiteness and unfairness to just about anyone not white, male, and heterosexual in traditional terms. We may be a "republic", and we are a nation captive to its pop culture, which strays far from our traditional ideas of "Americanism."

This reminds me of something I have come to realize is important in understanding the world: Good (as we humans understand it) does not always triumph, but evil always loses.
The writer of this column is reminding us of the second part of that saying. Right now, it appears that evil is triumphing. It is not, and will not.
If you recognize that the evil people, who currently appear to be winning, cannot win, it should encourage you to continue the struggle for good.

This might give me more optimism if I didn't know what the Bible reveals about the end times, and if I didn't think we are very close to that time. (which is exciting)
But to the author's point, even that evil will be quite temporary...just 7 years of misery followed by 1000 years of peace.

The people have become fat, lazy and stupid! They can’t fix what they don’t understand or comprehend! Wonder why the commies went after teachers and won 20 years ago! Russia and China win! Big time!
