McCarthy vows to remove Swalwell, Schiff,
Omar from House committees

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Sunday vowed to remove Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff and Ilhan Omar from their congressional committees when Republicans retake control in the new Congress. During an appearance on Fox News’ "Sunday Morning Futures," McCarthy told anchor Maria Bartiromo that he will keep the promise he made in January to remove Swalwell and Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee and Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. McCarthy said Swalwell's association with a Chinese spy, Schiff’s promotion of the Steele dossier and Omar’s criticism of Israel disqualify them from serving on their respective panels.

Comments:

YES! And since he’s promised this publicly, it’ll be harder to weasel out of it when push comes to shove.

Saw McCarthy campaigning on Maria B's show this morning. The fact that he has to go out and campaign is significant, but he acts like everything the Pubs need to do can't be done without his leadership. There's at least one arrogant person like this in every organization, and usually, they are the least qualified in the organization with the least accomplishments to show for their know-it-all, wanna be in charge arrogance. They think more highly of themselves, and everything they do is for self aggrandizement not for the good of the team. I vote no on McCarthy. They don't care what we think. Typical.

Every election cycle is a game of one upmanship. When the treasoncrats get the House back, you know that they will retaliate. Which means that democrats will decide what republicans, or if any republicans will serve on any committees. If our congress critters had a double IQ between them, they would hammer out rules and codify them.

OP & #7 are correct, of course. Get the votes you need for the Speakership first, keep your promises second, and then we’ll judge your track record from there. Schiff, Swalwell, and Omar would be a good start, and I hope he does it. And May God bless the USA.

The Biden family’s influence peddling has always been a scandal left to the eye of the beholder. For some, it was dismissed as Russian disinformation or, more recently, simply the result of a drug addicted son of the president. Neither is true, but Hunter Biden has always been an example of motivated perception, or perceptual bias, where we tend to see what we want to see and turn a "blind eye" to what we do not want to see. That phenomenon was on full display this week in an Associated Press article that made an extraordinary claim: that there is no evidence even suggesting that President Joe Biden ever

Per insiders speaking to Axios, Biden plans to remake “the White House into a more political operation.” Impossible! Biden’s already run the most political White House in recent memory, where the larger public good is brutally ignored in favor of the immediate interests of the president and his party.Look at his disastrous border policy. It’s caused untold human misery and has now spread to cities — like New York — nowhere near the southern border, all while pouring money into the pockets of fentanyl-peddling cartels and human traffickers.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was re-elected to another term as GOP conference chief on Wednesday after an underwhelming midterm performance kept Republicans from taking a majority in the upper chamber. But McConnell’s win as Republicans lose is just going to be more ammo for former President Donald Trump, who announced a third bid for the White House just one night before the Senate leader’s re-election. Neither Trump nor McConnell looks triumphant after last week’s elections. Many of Trump’s top candidates lost key races while McConnell emerges as the culprit for losing the majority. McConnell’s PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), re-routed scarce resources from competitive pick-up opportunities

The 2022 midterms are almost in the books. The large red wave did not materialize, although Republicans did pick up some congressional seats and, apparently, the House. There are significant and important reasons why a large red wave didn’t occur and one large warning for Republicans. First, before anyone says Republicans had bad candidates, keep in mind that the Democrats won the Senate with John Fetterman and Sen. Krysten Sinema, D-AZ, before him. Bad candidates didn’t stop them, and this article addresses why. It is important to remember that in 2010, the first midterm election after President Barack Obama was elected, Democrats lost 63 seats in the House of Representatives

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) telling people to “stop” taking ivermectin for COVID-19 was informal and just a recommendation, government lawyers argued during a recent hearing. “The cited statements were not directives. They were not mandatory. They were recommendations. They said what parties should do. They said, for example, why you should not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. They did not say you may not do it, you must not do it. They did not say it’s prohibited or it’s unlawful. They also did not say that doctors may not prescribe ivermectin,” Isaac Belfer, one of the lawyers, told the court during the Nov. 1 hearing in federal court
