Americans feeling inflation’s pinch better brace themselves for the cost of hosting Thanksgiving, which surged 20 percent since last year. According to a newly released Farm Bureau survey, the average cost for a family of 10 this year is $64.05—a $10.74 or 20 percent increase from last year, when the average cost was $53.31. “General inflation slashing the purchasing power of consumers is a significant factor contributing to the increase in average cost of this year’s Thanksgiving dinner,” said AFBF Chief Economist Roger Cryan. But inflation's not the only reason costs are surging.

10 people on $64? I spend $75-100 per week for myself and I buy all "Great Value" stuff and the least expensive stuff I can. I have stopped buying many items I used to enjoy, and have limited my diet to the basics. You would be appalled how routine and basic my meals are.

Same thing over here, #1. Buying the generic brands at our Kroger store to save a buck. And we snap up the buy one/get one deals all the time. And our high-priced beef buying days are over. Just bought a side of beef from my niece who owns a farm not far from here. We have even lowered ourselves to buying our whiskey and scotch at Costco. And we come out of there, full up, after working over the food sample women.

Thank god we saved 19 cents on the 4th of July in 2021, That 19 cents will really help offset the $64 we'll now spend on Thanksgiving. Thank god for those democrats.

The daily cartoon for Ms. Luci's blog tickled me. I like Spam. I'd prefer beef, fowl, or seafood. But Spam is tasty when fried. The only stuff I hate are lima beans, kale, and Brussel sprouts.

I am fortunate to live in a small area with a food Pantry operated by a church that's very generous with our allotment. The canned items that I don't use I give to others in need. Yesterday I got 2 whole chickens and 2 pkg. chicken breaststroke. Maybe some of you should inquire in your area about the Food Bank.

I LOVE Lima Beans, but for years now none of the grocery stores near me carry frozen Fordhook Lima Beans. Just the baby Limas. No one can tell me why.

Did you notice that there have been many stories breaking recently that are inconvenient to the left-wing narrative? I did. And I noticed that they came out after the midterm elections were over — when they’d have no impact on the vote. Wasn’t that nice and convenient? Here are five of those stories. Newsom’s budget deficit After back-to-back years of running surpluses, this week we learned that California is back in the red. Back in May, the Golden State had a nearly $98 billion surplus, but new projections show that California will have a $25 billion deficit in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Luckily for Gov. Gavin Newsom,

The activist media is at it again. This time, they are employing yet another “Everyone we don’t like is racist” tactic against the state of Georgia. Apparently, after their Jim Crow 2.0 narrative fell through, they had to figure out another way to claim the Peach State is raaaaycisss. MSNBC’s Joy Reid, during a recent segment, played a clip of Sen. Raphael Warnock, who will be facing his Republican challenger, Herschel Walker, in the runoff election. Said Warnock: “We should be striving to give the people of Georgia fair access to the ballot box.

Last year Pelosi and the Democrats stripped Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) of her committee assignments over past comments she made, and later censured and removed Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) from his committee assignments over a video he tweeted. Republicans argued at the time that Democrats were establishing a “dangerous” precedent whereby the “majority party can punish a member of the minority party by removing their committee assignments.” In a sense, they were warned that they would “rue the day” they established this precedent, and that day is hopefully coming soon. It took long enough, but the Republican Party finally secured the House Majority on Tuesday evening,

President Joe Biden concluded his political rallies for the midterms at a historically black university in Maryland, telling students they were “just as smart” as other colleges in the United States. Biden defended the “historic” $5.8 billion in funding he budgeted for HBCUs as president. “HBCUs don’t have the endowments others have, but guess what, you’re just as smart, you’re just as bright, you’re just as good as any college in America,” Biden said. “That money is to build laboratories and other things for the future that you need to have access to,” he added. Biden’s comment recalls a number of racially insensitive comments he has made about black people.

Joe Biden’s delusional communications director told CNN viewers the Democrats are going to do well in Tuesday’s midterms because Biden is popular. CNN anchor Jim Sciutto pointed out that historically a first midterm election for a US president is usually a wipeout. Biden’s Comms Director Kate Bedingfield said while historically the House flips in a president’s first term, Biden’s agenda is enormously popular. “Look, across the board what we’re seeing is enormous popularity for the Biden agenda,” Kate Bedingfield said. 81% of Americans are “dissatisfied” with the state of the economy according to the new left-leaning NBC poll. This is the “second-highest number ever recorded,” NBC’s Chuck Todd said on Sunday.

Many Americans celebrating ‘Friendsgiving’ will be opting for a pizza instead of a traditional Thanksgiving turkey with fixings. The budgets are tighter this year too. Many Americans will be spending less than $100 for their Thanksgiving food.

Should mail-in-votes that are undated or incorrectly dated be counted in Tuesday’s midterm elections? Common sense, state law, and a Pennsylvania court all say “no,” but Democrat Senate wannabe John Fetterman thinks otherwise and took his case to court Monday. Fetterman, who’s in a tight race (notice I didn’t say “neck and neck”) with Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, joined the Democrats’ U.S. House and Senate campaign arms and two Democratic voters to sue in a federal court in Pittsburgh, arguing that the handwritten date requirement is a burden and an attempt at voter suppression.

An Indiana election office reportedly ejected a Democrat poll worker over allegations that he had pressured poll-goers against voting for certain candidates and even pre-selected Democratic candidates on a voting machine last week, local election officials told Fox News. The incidents took place at a polling place in Carmel, Indiana, under the Hamilton County Election Office. Hamilton County election administrator Beth Sheller declined to confirm the poll worker's identity in an interview with Fox News Digital, but detailed a report from the inspector at the polling location. Sheller stated that the inspector had learned of two separate incidents that may constitute electioneering and election interference.

Vance.” “Red Wave Tuesday? Final Rasmussen Poll: GOP Leads Generic Congressional Ballot by 5 Points.” “The Democrats are in Trouble.” “Hispanics Across Arizona, Florida, Texas Abandon Democrats.” (Snip) Two things about the election Tuesday scare me. One, so many of the races are so close. Nearly all the important Senate races are neck and neck: Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Georgia, all so very tight. Why? How can Americans look at the country and not slaughter the Democrats?

It’s times like these when you yearn for the perfect words to explain not only how important it is to vote Tuesday, but also to properly describe just how awful the people you’re running against are. In the case of Democrats, unfortunately, the words needed to describe them tend to contain four letters and generally are slang for body parts or directions for action involving them. That makes them unusable in a family-friendly column, but I’m going to try to get around that as best I can and paint as accurate of a picture as possible about why we should be grateful for these horrible Democrats.

Faced with questions about his ability to lead after the midterm election debacle, a defiant Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell deflected blame from his own culpability in the Democrats retaining control of the upper chamber and instead blamed it on public dissatisfaction with MAGA candidates. The embattled McConnell spoke to reporters on Tuesday, defending his dismal performance and the refusal to adequately fund candidates who were endorsed by former and perhaps future President Donald J. Trump such as Blake Masters in Arizona, instead spending money to support RINO Lisa Murkowski in Alaska against her America first opponent, also a Republican.
