Democrats’ midterm hopes fade: ‘We

Ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, it seemed possible that Democrats could avoid a midterm disaster. But if the post-Roe summer belonged to Democrats, by mid-October, even they can see the momentum they had is fading. A recent CBS News/YouGov survey has Democrats running 2 percentage points behind Republicans in the generic congressional ballot — a measure closely tied to a party’s performance in the midterms. A New York Times/Siena College poll released on Monday showed likely voters inclined to vote Republican by a 49 percent to 45 percent margin. Pooplitico is still trying to cover their and the D'Rats. FTA: Independent women — a critical constituency for Democrats in swing states and districts — had swung sharply toward Republicans in the span of a month. But they don't tell how much. They used to say if the mushy-middle (independents) go 51-49 the Republican's win big. So if it's 55-45 or more the thrashing could be historic.

WOW! Talk about delusional. These people actually believe that the problem for Democrat is that they peaked too early, rather than the fact they screw up everything they touch, including the United States of America, that they support stealing elections, are as close to being Communists as is possible and have destroyed Americans retirement savings while becoming millionaires doing stock trading based on laws they make in Congress. And they think the issue is they peaked too early. Obviously, they either don't understand the country they live in or they are just making excuses for their coming losses. Apparently, they believe they should be allowed to do more damage...... And close to half the country agrees with them.

If by peaked, you mean we created enough fraud to win, then yes you did. However, the policies of the left were created to fail. Failing is winning in the minds of the Marxists.

Two measly percentage points is all that separates us from the most corrupt, most totalitarian and perverted political party in the history of the nation. That does not say much for our citizens. The voting machines will get them their two percent back.

Abortion is a big deal with some but they vote Dem anyway. Regular people look on it as child murder which is what it is. They have nothing to gain by flogging the abortion card but they seem to think it’s a big deal with voters. It’s not and they will find that out.

Republican candidate Herschel Walker is making the most of a criticism from his opponent, Democrat incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock. Warnock made the mistake of mocking Walker for being in possession of what he called “fake” police badges during a debate. Walker quickly whipped one out and proudly held it up to the audience. As it turns out, the so-called fake badges are honorary badges presented to Walker by sheriffs throughout the state. In response to the political attack from Warnock, the Walker campaign ordered 1,000 imitation plastic law enforcement badges that say “I’m with Herschel”. The campaign has turned the badges into a fundraising tool.

Humans are not very good fortune tellers, not even when there’s lots of data on which to make educated guesses. That’s certainly been true of recent political polling in 2016 and 2020 and to a lesser degree in 2018. Nevertheless, the pressure to make predictions is strong. So today, Matt Yglesias has put forward his best guess as to what will happen nationally next month. His conclusion is that polls are once again underestimating GOP strength in various races and that, partly because of that bad data, Democrats are going to underperform even current (low) expectations.According to 538, Republicans have a 72 percent chance of taking the House,

Stacey Abrams demonstrates here in an exchange with Mike Barnicle this morning on Morning Joe. Barnicle points out that Democrats’ attempts to use abortion to distract from the issues that matter most to voters in the cycle have flopped.Abrams responds by claiming that abortion is a solution to inflation. One of the oddest orthodoxies of modern “anti-racist” doctrine is that only white people can be racist. (Or, as a Vice writer declared in October 2016, “It’s literally impossible to be racist to a white person.”) When the journalist Sarah Jeong was engulfed in a controversy over a series of old tweets lambasting white people — “Oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men” — her defenders on the left “were quick to say that the statements Jeong made could be skewed as racist only if the culture, history and current sociopolitical context of the United States were ignored,

When the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last week that September’s inflation rate remained at an unacceptably high 8.2 percent, it sealed the fate of the Democrats. Despite risible claims by President Joe Biden that his policies are helping, the consumer price index (CPI) confirmed that the cost of necessities like food, energy, and housing continues to increase apace. Many hit hardest by this trend are minority voters upon whom the Democrats depend for their survival.

After Stacey Abrams lost her 2018 bid to be the next Governor of Georgia (not that she admitted the loss until recently), she founded a political action committee named Fair Fight PAC that was intended to “combat voter suppression” in the Peach State, which she blamed for her loss or unacknowledged victory, depending on which day you asked her. Fair Fight PAC has since raked in a considerable flow of cash from liberals around the nation who sympathized with her unfair treatment at the hands of the corrupt Republicans in Georgia or whatever. But where has all of that money been going?
