Deep Blue State Gubernatorial Race Becomes ‘Toss-Up’

Original Article

GOP momentum is happening nationwide — and with mere weeks before the midterm elections, it might just help a few more Republicans win races that were previously believed to be unwinnable. Republican Christine Drazan has been leading in the three-way gubernatorial race in Oregon for some time now, and now it’s looking increasingly possible that Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) has a chance to defeat incumbent Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul. In fact, RealClearPolitics, recognizing that Zeldin is closing the gap in recent polling, has upgraded the New York gubernatorial race to a “Toss-up” from “Likely Democratic.” “Our race was just moved to TOSS UP by RealClearNews!” Zeldin tweeted on Saturday.

Wasn't this the state where a Republican won the governor's race on election day....but lost after 5 recounts found enough votes for the Democrat??

Re #1: That was Washington state in 2004, when Dino Rossi's lead kept shrinking with each successive recount until enough spare votes could be found in King County (Seattle) and slipped into the secure boxes. When the Democrat (I mercifully forgot her name) finally claimed a lead, the counting ceased, and victory was the Democrat's. In 2000, Al Gore, hoping to "find" the 538 votes he needed to win the state and the presidency, kept the counting (chads) going for 36 days after Election Day until the SCOTUS told the Donks "Enough already!"

If the governor races are like this the Republican can win 20-40 seats in the house.

Olivia Murray’s excellent blog on the latest buzzword in the left’s propaganda quiver, stochastic terrorism, had me scrambling to find an academic publication on the web that explained this term. After a few attempts, up came an article titled “Stochastic Terrorism” by Molly Amman and J. Reid Meloy, published in the October 2021 issue of Perspectives on Terrorism, available in PDF form here. The end of the article contained impressive info on the authors: (Snip) I was all set to have a look at how the authors explain “stochastic terrorism,” “psychological context,” “history and phenomenology,” “linguistic pragmatics” and “poliregression” until, way at the end of the final sentence,

Big Non-Binary Brother is watching. Respecting The Science©, as we are trained to do, obviously requires that we place LGBTQ+++© Gestapo in every doctor’s office in America. Their job is to make sure bigoted doctors don’t slip up and practice medicine based on biological reality, because biology is transphobic, as is reality. Vanderbilt’s Pediatric Transgender Clinic practices The Science© by providing “evidence-based, personalized gender-affirming care for transgender and gender-diverse children and adolescents” — a fancy, rambling way to say “transing children.” And now it’s upped its game by inserting “Trans Buddies” into the doctor’s office. The Trans Buddy Program’s mission statement reads: “The Trans Buddy Program’s goal is to increase access to care

We’re up to our elbows in weird Biden moments. I wrote earlier about Biden’s comments about gas prices in Los Angeles weirdly having something to do with housing. Then he claimed gas had always been around $7.00 there when indeed it’s up since last week and it’s more than three dollars more on average than it was under President Donald Trump. He also seemed to verbally threaten Saudi Arabia saying he had some things to say to them while refusing to say what those things were. You would think that he’d be going to battleground

Politics is fun, isn’t it? You can play with the truth all you want, and, as long as you’re a member of the right party, you can throw all the crap you want against a wall just to see what sticks. And no one of any significance will say a word. Of course, that’s only true if you’re a Democrat. That’s why when Joe Biden deadpanned that prices would rise if Republicans were elected, no one laughed — out loud, at least. “Here’s the bottom line. So please hear this. When it actually comes time to do something about inflation around the table, Republicans in Congress are saying ‘no,'”

Paul Ryan, the losing vice presidential candidate on the Republican Party’s all-RINO 2012 ticket, says that Donald Trump, the only Republican candidate to win the presidency between 2004 and 2020, cannot win in 2024. Ryan, of course, really hopes that Trump will not regain the presidency, for that would mean the definitive end of the controlled-opposition establishment wing of the Republican Party, in which Ryan was once a central figure. But Ryan on Thursday went beyond expressing the hope that Trump would lose to stating confidently that he would. According to the New York Post, the failed candidate, who also served as a singularly colorless and ineffective speaker of the House

Republicans across the country have made protecting girls' sports from biological male transgender athletes a campaign message as they seek to retake control of Congress next month, with at least one gubernatorial candidate highlighting the issue in recent campaign ad. The issue of biological males who identify as females competing against women in women's sports has garnered national attention and resulted in a feud among the two political parties in America, and one group believes the issue may help turnout for Republicans in the November 8 election. "Americans understand that female athletes have had their scholarships, their trophies and their dignity stolen by males competing in their sport

The President will also travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to participate in a reception for Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman.” the announcement read. John Fetterman is totally shot after his massive stroke in May. Fetterman is running against Republican nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz in the 2022 US Senate race in Pennsylvania.

If we tried to highlight every bizarre or delusional thing Joe Biden says, we wouldn’t have time for anything else. But who can resist occasionally mocking Slow Joe? Yesterday Biden was in Los Angeles and risked going out in public. The New York Post reports: “The inflation report is out. Have you seen gas prices around here in LA? It’s 7 bucks a gallon almost,” a reporter said after Biden handed a cashier three $20 bills for a $16.45 order of six tacos and two quesadillas. “Well, that’s always been the case here,” Biden replied. “Always” meaning since I, Slow Joe, became president. That line, while false, at least was coherent.

Nevada Democrat senator Catherine Cortez Masto labeled the National Right to Life Committee an "extremist group" in a recent campaign ad attacking the group's endorsement of her Republican opponent, Adam Laxalt. The ad brands National Right to Life a "powerful extremist group" because it is urging Congress to pass what the ad terms a "national abortion ban." In response, the organization issued a statement to TheBlaze in which it said, "National Right to Life does not want babies to die and supports measures to support the lives of mothers and their unborn children. Like Hitler and John Wayne Gacy, the Democrats got arrogant over their successes, and that arrogance made them sloppy. That’s when their evil came to an end. The Democrats thought they could steal our freedoms away under the guise of COVID-19. Actually, they did steal them. Embarrassingly, many Americans were only too happy to lock down, wear the useless Fauci face diaper, and stand on science-free stickers at the grocery store. You know, to save grandma. Remember, communism always comes disguised as virtue. Many of us caught on quickly and recognized that the Democrats were using the Hong Kong Fluey lockdown flapdoodle as a dress rehearsal for communism — and worse.

Only 33% of Americans would vote to reelect President Biden if the 2024 election were held today — and 54% would cast their ballot for another candidate, according to a Fox News poll released Sunday. The 33% who would vote for Biden — 21% definitely and 12% probably — mark a drop of 3 percentage points since January, while the percentage who would opt for someone else fell from 60% to 54% in that period, the survey found. The poll also shows that while 71% of Democrats would vote to reelect the president, 19% would not, along with 91% of Republicans and 54% of independents.

Talk of a second civil war among liberal journalists, television personalities and lawmakers has become increasingly commonplace following the raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Aug. 8, after which liberal pundits repeatedly claimed on-air that evolving distrust for the U.S. government among Trump supporters would lead to escalated political violence. The topic resurfaced weeks later when President Biden called his predecessor and "MAGA Republicans" a threat to "the very foundations of our republic"

The segment clearly aimed at demonizing the Republican stronghold state governed by possible 2024 contender Ron DeSantis, a strategy that host Tiffany Cross has routinely employed on her show. Cross really leaned into it this time, introducing the discussion by calling Florida a "haven of hate"
