President Joe Biden is set to import nearly 65,000 H-2B foreign visa workers to take blue-collar American jobs as roughly 11.6 million Americans remain jobless. This week, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Labor Department announced that the administration would be allowing businesses to import a few less than 65,000 H-2B foreign visa workers to take nonagricultural jobs in construction, meatpacking, and landscaping, among other industries. This is in addition to the 66,000 H-2B foreign visa workers that the Biden administration has already allowed into the United States labor market to take blue-collar jobs.(Snip)An official with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said

While importing foreigners to do jobs doesn't sound great, it might be the motivation that someone Americans need to get off their lazy busts and get back to work! The labor participation rate us at an all time low. There are all kinds of unfilled jobs everywhere with no applicants in sight. It seems that people no longer want to work!

Good heavens! Hasn't he already "imported" millions of blue collar workers through our non-existent southern border???

History will show that this Country was/is being destroyed from within. And I'd bet my life that it is the Obummer that is pulling the strings.
If the people, (read LIBERALS), do not stop watching the SSM, (that's SEWER STREAM MEDIA), or the very over-educated, that are running our truth departments do not wake up, we are soon to be doomed.

Throwing good money after bad: Dope Biden has a labor shortage because his Party is paying workers to stay home and not work. So then he get a labor shortage and where does he go for workers? To OTHER countries!
OPEN NOTE TO BIDEN: Stop paying COVID payments to American workers and make them go back to work. Your labor shortage will clear up overnight. Open the pipelines and thousands will go back to work. Joe, when you cripple your own labor sector, you fix it, you don’t go outside for workers. How stupid are you?

If we have unfilled demand for labor and plenty of unemployed people, doesn't that mean that our thirst for consumption exceeds our willingness to produce? The only way that importing more labor solves the "problem" is if they are not like us and never become like us. Otherwise they too would desire to consume more than they produce, correct? Are they saying that we need an underclass, a servant class who must shift the balance between production and the desire to consume? What stops them from becoming us and creating an even bigger gap? Where does this stop?
It only stops when we are honest enough to examine and address why people who are already here don't want to work to meet the unfilled demand. And the "kinder" we are to newcomers, the more free stuff we heal upon them, the more they will contribute to the problem and the less likely they are to become a counterweight to the current imbalance.

"Every year, businesses are allowed to import 66,000 H-2B foreign visa workers to take blue-collar, non-agricultural American jobs. Former President Donald Trump routinely brought in additional H-2B foreign visa workers for business to hire, and Biden is doing the same." ONE BIG DIFFERENCE ...Trump secured the border, he didn't allow MILLIONS to enter the country illegally & also take American jobs.
If ever there was a program that needed ending it's the H1 & 2 B Visa programs. Talk about self-defeative.

What about all those illegal aliens? Can the illegal aliens work in the U.S. or not? The H-2 category workers, who are supposed to be temporary, can bring their families to the U.S. while they're here working. Of course, those children can then be attending our schools. Like the H-1 visas, they allow companies to hire cheaper foreign labor. That's the concept.

Any American who is jobless right now is in that position by choice. Everywhere we go today there are signs on businesses announcing that they are hiring. How often are you informed by a business or service that there will be delays because they are understaffed?
#9 nails it. Cut off the government checks. Not only the Covid checks but welfare checks to anyone who is physically and mentally able to work. I’ve been paying the way for layabouts for about 50 years at the expense of my own family and I’m sick to death of doing it.

Do what I do. When I have any work done on my property, I tell them all the workers better be American citizens. You should see the surprised look on their face when I tell them this!!! Then they fall all over themselves assuring me that only Americans will be coming to do the work. I've had work done on the driveway, new windows, some trees cut down, garage enlarged and so far they all speak English well -- because I check. Now I don't know if this is going to get be in trouble for discrimination or some other law I might be unaware of -- but so far it has not. I let them know I won't do business with anyone hiring illegals.

If he is importing a few thousand to work blue collar jobs then what does he call the jobs the millions of illegal aliens (or undocumented migrants for those of you in Rio Linda) are working at?

The reason we need blue collar (skilled) workers is that the stay at homes can't fix a toilet.

#3 has it right. Funny how the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has somehow been able to hide their involvement not only in the exporting of businesses and jobs out of this country but enabling companies to hire foreigners into the U.S. to replace U.S. workers. While we all have our eyes on the corrupt FBI and DOJ. The Chamber of Commerce and those we have elected have been backstabbing the citizens of this country while enriching themselves.

Not to worry! Biden and the Democrats will pass legislation to pay American to stay at home and play video games. Since they will not be looking for work the unemployment rate will be unusually low, but so will the labor participation rate. Biden and the Democrats are looking for a boost in Democrat votes.

By importing such numbers of so-called “temporary” foreign workers who will not be “temporary” in the plain meaning of that English language word, as once in the USA they can become permanent residents. In essence Biden, the Democrats, and some “cheap labor” Republicans are bypassing millions of out of work American workers, including minority American workers, who could be recruited and trained to take all sorts of those so-called “blue collar” jobs that are mostly all non-agricultural jobs. The real problem is that the employers receiving those “temporary” foreign workers expect to offer those jobs at wages much lower than they would have to pay comparable American workers, and that American workers could accept and maintain their customary U.S. standard of living.

65 K out of 2,000,000 so far is 0.03% That still leaves more than 99.9% unemployed. But at least they'll be paying their taxes.

The US Chamber of Commerce and the Cheap Labor Republicans hail this move, claiming there's a labor shortage. Never mind that 84% of the industries that hire such labor pay lower wages to foreigners than they would to Americans, because that's a simple way for talentless CEOs to make more money. Not quite slave labor, but close enough under the law.
