Two Connecticut police officers were killed, and a third injured, in an apparent ambush Wednesday night around 11 p.m. in Bristol. The Connecticut State Police labeled the incident an officer-involved shooting (OIS), tweeting: (break for tweet) The Hartford Courant reported the shooting occurred “after police went to an altercation at Bleachers, a Middle Street bar.” After going to the bar, the officers went to the residence of someone believed to be involved in the incident at Bleachers and “apparently were ambushed.” FOX News quoted eyewitness Ted Kraweic telling Channel 3, “We just, like, hearing the gunshots like ‘pop pop pop pop pop pop’ up and stop, and then stop

Comments:

I think Connecticut is a 'May Issue' state. The shooters must have been of 'good character', or they carried the guns illegally. We need more laws.

PayPal on Oct. 8 sent out an update to its terms of use, or acceptable use policy (AUP). It included a shocking addition. It reserved the right to confiscate $2,500 from people’s accounts if they spread “misinformation.” It was a clear announcement of what many already suspected: PayPal has enlisted in the information war. This comes weeks after PayPal blocked several important accounts in the UK, including Toby Young’s personal account, the Free Speech Union, and the DailySceptic. These are hugely important venues for the English-speaking world in countering the COVID propaganda narrative. It was no accident that they were targeted. After global protests and news coverage from alternative sources, PayPal relented

This week Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel John Durham will begin presenting evidence in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the serial liar whom the FBI used as its “source” to justify spying on the Trump campaign. Durham has already made a bombshell disclosure that the FBI secretly put Danchenko on the bureau’s payroll despite knowing that the information he fed them was fabricated. There is much speculation that more evidence of the bureau’s misconduct will be revealed as the Danchenko trial unfolds. Danchenko was the principal “source” for bogus tales about former President Donald Trump, including the infamous (and fictional) pee tape. Danchenko’s lurid fiction was the centerpiece

During a portion of an interview aired on Tuesday’s edition of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power,” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) stated that while “the horrific crimes that we’re seeing” keep her up at night and are “frightening” people, “New York City is still the safest big city in America. Look at Chicago, look at San Francisco, look at Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Washington. People leaving New York, I’m not sure where they’re going to go because we are the safest big city in America.” Hochul said, “First of all, public safety is my number one priority. This is what keeps me up at night, the horrific crimes

Last night, our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com received Dr. Anthony Fauci’s FY2021 financial disclosures from the National Institutes of Health. The documents contain a wealth of previously unknown information. For example, the Fauci household’s net worth now exceeds $12.6 million – up $5 million from 2019 through 2021. Download: Dr. Anthony Fauci’s FY2021 OGE Form 278e Public Financial Disclosure Report. In January 2022, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall forced open Dr. Anthony Fauci’s unredacted FY2019 and 2020 financial disclosures. The release followed a heated Senate exchange between Fauci and Marshall that concluded with Fauci calling the senator a “moron.”

As the Biden administration's progressive agenda rages on, shell-shocked Americans are asking themselves, "How could so much go so wrong so fast?" From inflation to energy, immigration to crime, Afghanistan to fentanyl, President Biden has kept America lurching from crisis to crisis, failed policy to failed policy, debacle to debacle — obsessed with dismantling the Trump legacy and deliberately charting a radical course that is proving ruinous to the country. America is burning, and Joe Biden doesn't seem to care. After his surprising win in the 2012 South Carolina Republican primary, Newt Gingrich explained his victory on Face the Nation: I think the number one thing people look for in difficult

I’ve repeatedly speculated that social justice has an odd effect on the brain and people who embrace it seem to suffer something akin to mental illness. At this time, we don’t know if the chicken came before the egg and those with mental illnesses are simply attracted to it naturally, but we have confirmed cases of people being normal, going through a university “education” and coming out the other side wholly indoctrinated. You can witness something like this on full display pretty regularly thanks to Twitter accounts like “Libs of TikTok,” but another video has emerged showing another instance of pure insanity. As you can see in the video

President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency for Florida on Saturday as Tropical Storm Ian gained strength and barreled toward the Sunshine State. Biden’s declaration came after he delayed a trip to southern Florida scheduled for Tuesday, when he was set to discuss health care in Fort Lauderdale and then attend a Democratic National Committee event in Orlando, the Miami Herald reported. The declaration authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to coordinate disaster relief efforts and provide assistance, according to the White House. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a state of emergency and mobilized the state’s National Guard earlier in the day as Ian gained strength.

The far-left state of California further embraced neo-paganism this week when Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law allowing the practice of composting dead human beings to better combat climate change. Citing the high CO2 emissions associated with cremation, the bill will give people the option to give their dead remains over to a process known as natural organic reduction (NOR) should they not want to be buried or cremated. “The process involves placing the body inside a long, reusable steel container along with wood chips and flowers to aerate it – allowing microbes and bacteria to break down the remains,” according to the Daily Mail.

Greene’s move follows the Department of Energy announcing on Monday that it is auctioning off 10 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). “I just introduced Articles of Impeachment on President Joe Biden. Joe Biden is selling our strategic petroleum reserves. This should never happen. He is draining our reserves and selling our oil. American’s oil to foreign countries and China is a top buyer,” Greene stated in a video released on Twitter.

It may be time to pass on gas. The more than 40 million households in the US who use a gas stove might want to consider an alternative. New findings have shown that gas stoves — even when turned off — may cause asthma in children and put adults at risk of cancer. Dr. Jonathan Levy, an environmental health professor at Boston University, claimed the stoves may pollute the air with nitrogen dioxide, which can cause lung damage. The pollutant, a “byproduct of fuel combustion,” is also the same that is produced on major highways, but since the kitchen is an enclosed space, it puts inhabitants at more risk.

Reports of flu and other respiratory illnesses are higher than what would normally be seen in the U.S. at this time of year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. "We've noted that flu activity is starting to increase across much of the country," especially in the Southeast and south-central U.S., the CDC's director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, told NBC News. "Not everybody got flu vaccinated last year, and many people did not get the flu. So that makes us ripe to have potentially a severe flu season."(Snip)"Flu is on the rise, but it's also all of these other viruses that got knocked off kilter," Esper said.

A new CNN analysis fretted that American voters might care more about the cost of their food than they do about the Jan. 6 hearings. Noting Thursday’s Consumer Price Index data which showed inflation reaching 8.2% in September, as well as a cost-of-living index at its highest level since 1982, CNN's Stephen Collinson noted polling has repeatedly reinforced that the economy is the top concern to voters heading into the midterm elections. The data included information about frozen potato products, as well as pork products, which have increased 10% and 5.5%, respectively. "While it would be too simplistic to say

Never let a crisis go to waste, Rahm Emanuel once advised. Add to that this new axiom: Never let your emergency powers expire. As incompetent as Joe Biden might otherwise be, he’s proven adept at following both. Again: The Biden administration extended the Covid-19 pandemic’s status as a public health emergency for another 90 days, preserving measures such as expanded Medicaid and higher payments to hospitals. The decision follows comments President Biden made in September describing the pandemic as over. Some Republican lawmakers said afterward that the administration should wind down its pandemic response and the emergency designation.

That share is more than one-sixth greater than the 27.3% that Queens residents contribute to the city’s total population, according to 2020 census data. “It’s a powder keg in Queens at this point,”
