Dem Rep. Luria: Liz Cheney Needs to Be
the ‘Face of the Republican Party’

Sunday, during this week’s broadcast of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) argued for her January 6 House Select Committee colleague Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to be the face of the Republican Party going forward. Luria said her voice was “needed” when asked about the prospects of Luria running for president as a Republican in 2024. “I admire Liz Cheney,” she said. “I’ve been friendly with her ever since I came to Congress, even before we served on this committee together. And I think, you know, if she doesn’t come through this primary and come back to Congress, there are so many things that she can do in the future

Shouldn't that be up to Rebublican voters? Oh, sorry, misread the title. Didn't notice that a Democrat, who thinks Democrats should run everything, made the comment. Cheny's voice might be usefully in Democrat Luria;s reelection since Cheney won't be in the general election.

Loony Luria is on record as stating during a Sunday interview with NBC's "Meet the Press," that she "sure as hell hopes" the Department of Justice will pursue a criminal investigation into Trump regardless of what the committee does. Since most of America knows that this Jan6 debacle for the Democrats was a show trial to torpedo Trump, that the RussiaGate hoax was paid for and instigated by the Democrats, and that the Democrats spied on Trump during his campaign and after he was duly elected, her continued obsession regarding some sort of Trump punishment tells you all you need to know about her mental state.

Former President Donald Trump is not likely to go to prison. Nor is he likely to be prosecuted for the events surrounding Jan. 6, 2021. Confident claims to the contrary are the product of Twitter resistance fever swamp fantasies. Those offering such arguments either don’t understand the optics of former Supreme Court nominee-turned-Attorney General Merrick Garland indicting a former president who prevented him from sitting on the highest court. Perhaps Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has given the game away by unequivocally stating that she is doing everything in her power to keep Trump away from another Oval Office stint. Whether you agree with Cheney's tactics or strategy is beside the point.

Former President Donald Trump has asked a federal court to rule that he has absolute immunity from civil suits related to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. In a brief filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Wednesday, Trump's lawyers asked the court to reverse Judge Amit Mehta's February ruling that denied a motion to dismiss lawsuits related to the Capitol riot. They said in the brief that Trump's speech at a "Stop the Steal" rally on Jan. 6 falls within the scope of speech protected by presidential absolute immunity. The former president is facing several lawsuits filed by congressional lawmakers and

When hot months come because the northern hemisphere is closer to the sun, temperatures go up. Changes in temperatures are reported in media with alarm and always denoted on graphics in blood red. A few days ago, I saw this graphic of July temperatures in Europe. The split screen shows different colors, although the temperatures are just about the same.

Defeating Wokeism isn’t merely a political, legal, or even cultural battle. We must also address what ultimately fuels Wokeness on a personal level: a delusional sense of moral superiority because it’s that moral superiority that is the vehicle for the left’s real power grab. Are the Woke, in fact, morally superior? If you ask them, they certainly are. Their thinking seems to run something like this: The world consists of people with different skin colors, genders, sexual orientations, etc. We are tolerant. The un-Woke aren’t. Therefore, we are morally superior.

I recently wrote a column about why I believed Trump should not run in 2024. I was wrong. I allowed my distaste for Trump’s personality to override his virtues, which are considerable. Some people want Trump without his vices. I was among them -- until yesterday, when I watched and listened to Tom Klingenstein’s speech titled “Trump’s virtues.” It was masterful and shamed me that I did not make the distinction between Trump's character and his virtues, the former being deeply flawed, the latter being almost perfect. I need to man up in my defense of the former President's virtues.
